Refresh recordings screen after stopping playback
Posted by: drain - 2005-07-14, 04:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When I've been watching a recording (on my MVP) and in the mean time an in progress recording has finished, when I stop the playback GBPVR returns to the recordings screen (ready or pending) exactly as it was before I started playing. That is, for example, the recording that has finished still shows as "Recording" in the pending screen.

Is this normal? If not, anyone know how I can fix it?

If so, can I suggest that the recordings screen be updated when stopping playback in the next version.

  FM Tuner Selection for 150MCE
Posted by: cbett1 - 2005-07-14, 02:28 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (36)

Where is it that you select the FM Tuner? I've read the docs and have found what appears to be information pertaining to the 250. When I looked into gbpvr there's nothing indicating the tuner for the 150mce.

Thanks,
cbett1

  Expanded Remote/recording capabilities
Posted by: atrawick - 2005-07-14, 01:27 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I have a Cyberlink Remote that came with my ATI 550 TV Tuner card and it is not very compatible with the software. It has trouble learning the keys and hardly any of them work, even when i try it with the USB-URIT remote seting selected. I would use GBPVR more if it worked better with my remote, i jsut use it as a TV guide right now. Also, i would like to see the program let you watch TV while you record it. Thanks.

Only some channels found on Nova-T 90002 (UK)
Posted by: hedge - 2005-07-13, 09:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi all,

I've been trying to resist posting and fixing problems on my own but this one has me a bit stumped. I've got a Nova-T 90002. It's set up to use the BDA capture driver, set to all regions/all channels. I've tried the EPG as both XMLTV and Bleg (as you might expect, it makes no odds). The card is working, I have no errors. I'm using the InterVideo muxer. When I go to "map EPG channels to digital channels", it scans 57 channels, and returns with only a partial list: Sky Sports News, Sky News, UK History (all twice) and a few others (I'm in the UK). Those channels are displayed perfectly, but no mention of BBC1-4, ITV1-3, C4, etc. With the same cable plugged into my digi-box, I can view all those channels. Does anyone know what might cause this? I've tried twiddling settings but nothing seems to help it. There is no sign of an error in Config.exe.log (I've scoured it thoroughly), and the only bit that looks vaguely like one in Config-native.exe.log is in the middle of this:

  Tuner Card List
Posted by: rookbartley - 2005-07-13, 09:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Is there any way to make gbpvr work with any cards that are not on the dropdown list in setup, maybe manually add a card. I have a card that came with Pixelview Station and uses the driver set BtTuner, WDM TV Tuner with a manufacturer of TelSignal Co., Ltd. The card works great with Pixelview and Media Portal, but I really like the features and usability of gbPVR. I tried setting it up as all of the cards on the list and it gives me a cannot find specified device error when trying to start live TV. When using the tuner helper app it gives me a cannot find crossbar error. Thanks....

Does ANYONE have a reliable Nova-T 909 setup?
Posted by: funkybro_uk - 2005-07-13, 09:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

Hi

Does anybody actually have a reliable GBPVR setup with a Nova-T 909 card?

If so please could you tell me which mux version you're using? My setup records well around 60% of the time, the other 40% I get a crash, with the resulting frustration of a 0KB file.

Which is the most reliable DVB-T card/multiplexer combination?

regards
funkybro

Two Video Sequences within Nero Vision Express 3
Posted by: olliw - 2005-07-13, 07:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Opening a File recorded with GB-PVR shows in the Story Board of Nero Vision Express the starting Sequence of a MPEG-File twice. The first Sequence has always a Time Period of 0.04 Sec. The Second Sequence has the length of the whole Video. When I delete the first Sequence I have sometimes Synchronisation Problems (Sound/Picture) with the whole (remaining) Video. I have no Problems playing the original MPEG-File with GB-PVR or Nero Showtime. It seems to me, that there is a gap in the Beginning of the MPEG File. I’m using a Hauppauge PVR 350. If I make Recordings with WinTV 2000 I have only one Video Sequence (the whole MPEG File) in Nero Vision Express.
Can anybody explain/help me to solve that Problem?

  Problems with the Audio Bitrate
Posted by: olliw - 2005-07-13, 07:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I tried to use gb-pvr Version 092.11 and can't change the Audio Bitrate with the Configuration Utility.
If i set a Value other than 224 Kb/sec. every Recording is done with 224 Kb/sec. I took a look in the direct.ini and discovered that the change with the Configuration Utility affects the AudioCompression Settings. I assumed that the change of this value must affect the AudioBitrate-Setting.
Is there a known Problem or do i have a Problem with setting up the correct values?

  Snapstream Firefly Plugin
Posted by: JohnL - 2005-07-13, 06:55 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (23)

Alright, Ive posted and heard nothing back. I have read that it is possible to develop plugins for GB-PVR in VB.net, and I have some experience with that particular language. So... The birth of an idea comes forth.

Would it be possible/not too difficult to make a plugin that would replace, or run with the snapstream software that would intercept the commands coming over the usb subsystem and interpret them for GB-PVR? I was thinking of getting a USB sniffer to see what the commands look like coming over the bus and then writing a little something that would look for those commands and then send GB-PVR the appropriate command (A sendkeys, or some sort of API command to have gb do what it needs to do)

I'm playing with the idea in my head and I think its doable, but I dont know if its worth it (ie, is there someway to get the damn thing to work that I havent tried yet? )

Any ideas on how to tackle this? (how to even get a plugin started?)
