  Some channels work, some don't
Posted by: Edwin10 - 2005-07-15, 09:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,
I have moved one of my TV cards (PVR-150) to another PC and installed GBPVR. The OS is Win2003, all drivers are installed.

I imported a channel.reg file, which I've been using for months, and configured GBPVR to start recording shows.

The funny thing is that some channels are recorded and are showing just fine, others are recorded and show static (or snow, if you know what I mean)

Live TV on the problem channels also shows static/snow. So it's not GBPVR, I guess.

The strange thing is that the channel.reg file, in which the frequencies from my cable provider are entered (Casema in Utrecht, Netherlands) is the same file I've been using a long time.

Is the OS causing troubles ? Or am I missing something ?

The channels that are working are NL1, NL2, NL3, RTL4, SBS6. MTV, Discovery and some others are not working.

Newbie trouble with a PVR 500
Posted by: RyanB - 2005-07-15, 09:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hey im currently in the proccess of setuping up my very first PVR box and i decided to use GB-PVR after reading some reviews about how awesome it was, especially for free. i have 2 issues:
1) I have 2 recording sources (one for each tuner on my 500) and i got one of the sources to update the EPG from zap2it, but the second source will not update i always get an error saying "You EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG source settings and try again." I cant figure out why one source will work and not the other.
2) When i use GB-PVR to play back a recorded show i get no audio but when i use Windows media player everything plays back fine. I have tried all the audio decoder options that i have been given and nothing works.

Please help before i go Crazy!

Thank you,
Ryan

MCE remote in ASUS Pundit-R not working: Unknown device
Posted by: Edwin10 - 2005-07-15, 08:54 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hi,

I have a ASUS Pundit-R, bios 1005, with a PVR-150 MCE installed.

I bought a MCE remote and plugged it in, but it doesn't get recognised properly. It's found as an unknown device. This happens on a MCE 2005 NL and MCE 2005 UK install. ( I re-installed a couple of times). I guess I need MCE in order to have GBPVR use the MCE supplied drivers ?

Searching for another driver ( I found the Ehome USB drivers on the net) doesn't help. It states that the software is not suitable for the hardware or something. When I plug in the USB receiver in a Win2003 machine (ASUS T2-P barebone) it get's recognised as Ehome receiver. So it's not the USB receiver. I double checked by plugging in the USB receiver in a PC in the shop where I bought the damn thing.

I also tried installing XP prof. No eHome device found.

Is it the Pundit that's causing problems ? Anyone using a Pundit-R in combination with the MCE USB receiver ?

The model of the receiver is 1.0a. modeltype 1040.

Please help me !

  Parental controls-show blocking
Posted by: soccerdad - 2005-07-15, 12:20 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (17)

I would like to be able to block specific shows from being able to be viewed or recorded. I want to use the MVP in our kids playroom and would love to use it to screen out specific shows. I know there are parental controls on some of the plugins for shows you have recorded, but I also want to block live tv shows. I don't want to blow out an entire channel, just some specific shows. Any ideas?

Error - Pure Virtual Function Call
Posted by: Quantus - 2005-07-14, 11:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello all,

I've been using GBPVR for a while now and really like it. Unfortunately, since the day I first installed it I have been having a problem.

Any time I attempt to record a show by scheduling it via the guide, I see: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, Rintime Error!, program: g:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvrrecordingservice.exe, R6025, pure virtual Function call. The program will record, save the file, and stop at the designated time, will record nothing else. After that, any attempt to watch TV either bounces me back to the main screen, or I receive a message informing me that the hardware device actively refused the connection.

Ideas? I love the software otherwise, and would really like to solve this issue.

Mark

  animated gifs and gbpvr
Posted by: reven - 2005-07-14, 11:15 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

anyone know how to get animated gifs to be animated in gbpvr? the only way i can think of is to manually get each frame from a gif as a single image, then to manually (with a ticker or something) iterate through the images and force a repaint of gbpvr with the next image. is there an easier way? the webcam plugin apparently supports animated gifs, is this how it was achieved? if not, then how? if so, how do you get each frame from an animated gif?

  Changing channels
Posted by: Bigdude - 2005-07-14, 09:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

For my setup, I currently run GB-PVR as the front end software, use a MediaMVP to get the picture on my TV and a PVR 150MCE as my capture device. I have a Cox cable tv coax line running directly into the PVR 150MCE and it handles the channel changes for recording automatically.

I will be switching to a DirecTv system soon and it will have an external receiver. What kind of IR plaster thing do I need to handle the channel changes? Some versions of the PVR 150MCE come with the newer remote and IR blaster, but mine didn't so I need to buy one. Any suggestions?
