I've got a question. GB-PVR starts up fine, lets me watch live TV fine, but when I switch to timeshift mode (press pause) during TV watching, there's a long gap and a Windows Installer window comes up and asks me to find "GBPVR09211(1).msi" I press cancel and it goes away, OK, fine. Same thing happens when I try to use Net Radio. What is this problem and how can I fix it? Also, a general question: When I'm in timeshift mode, if I exit back to main menu, my timeshift is lost, correct?
Also, I have a question about using FM radio. Every time I try to use it, it tells me I must have the Lame MP3 Encoder to use it. I do. Now how do I point it to the encoder?

I had never heard of gbpvr until today when I was reading HTPC News. Good stuff, and this is something I would certainly be interested in looking at...if you could provide delivery of digital cable over firewire within the GBPVR interface. There's quite an active thread over on TGB regarding timmoore's application that allows for channel changing over firewire as well as recording of digital cable off an STB over firewire, but he can not deliver live A/V within the MCE interface.
Is support of Tim's app withing gbpvr for changing channels being explored? How tough would it be to capture the stream off the firewire and display live TV within the gbpvr interface? Is it possible?

If anyone here has used USB 2.0 external harddrive as the location to record? I am thinking about purchasing an external harddrive, so I can record all the program for achiving, and I can also hold the ISO of my purchased DVD.
It also can be used for automatic backup of important stuff from your main PC which has the WinTV-150 card.
If my PC happens to reboot for any reason, or the recoding service is restarted (or I do something stupid like click OK in the config) while something is recording, the portion of the show that has already been recorded appears to be overwritten with the new recording starting from the time the recording service comes back up. Is there some way to tell GBPVR to not replace the already recorded part and either append any new recording to the end of the existing file or create a new file?
This hasnât happened often, but Iâm scared that it will happen during a show that is very important⦠to my wife! Thereâd be hell to pay if we lost half of McLeod's Daughters!
Maybe this has been stated before, but there should be a bar showing the volume level. Another thing is that the hauppaugge remote should be utilized better. In example, there is a previous channel built in for the 45-butoon remote(i dunno about the 34), and the power button should start GB-PVR and GB-PVR should use the TV, MUSIC, and RADIO buttons at the top.
I'm new to the whole PVR world, coming over as a long time user of Tivo. I am trying to register for Zap2it, but it is asking for a certificate code. I am using a PVR150 and cant seem to find the code. Is there one, and does it differ from card to card? Thanks...
im having trouble with zooming in/out and the x,y why points in my pictures. everytime i do it, i get the formula wrong, and i got sick of trying. so whose good at maths? the variable i have to work with are
zoomfactor = how much the pic is zoomed in by
oldzoomfactor = the old zoom factor
oldX, oldY, oldWidth, oldHeight = old image dimensions.
newX, newY, newWidth, newHeight = new image dimensions.
to get the newwidth/height i just do oldWidth/oldzoomfactor * newzoomfactor. but how do i get the newx/y? i havent done any maths in years, and i looks like ive forgotten most things (im sure i could do this back in highschool). so anyway, anyone know the solution?
I've recently installed your awesome program, but am having some problems with it. During the auto tune it skips over my very first channel. It's channel 2 and that would be CTV (canadian television). The EPG I've pulled from zap2it is working fine but when I change to channel 2 it is all static. I've not gone through the rest of the channels to see which others are doing this. I noticed it's also happening when I used Mediaportal as well. But it works fine with the bundled WinTV2000 from the Hauppauge card. I'm using WinXP (all updates), Hauppauge 150MCE and latest drivers from Hauppauge website. Please help I don't want to abbandon your software, it seems great!

I´m currently planning to install the most recent version of GBPVR.
I´m using one tuner card (PVR350) on Win2k SP4.
Now I read several threads here and want to ask for some assistance.
1) Padding ignored if back-to-back
Is it right that if I program 2 recordings and the second one starts at the end time of the first the padding is ignored ?
I.e. pre padding 2 minutes,post padding 3 minutes, recording A on channel 1 from 1:00 to 2:00, recording B on channel 2 from 2:00 to 3:00.
The I assume that rec A on channel 1 starts at 0:58, ends on 2:00, rec B on channel 2 starts an 2:00 and ends 3:03.
Is that right ?
2) Change of default padding
Is it possible to define a "default" padding and change it manually if I program a recording and the default value is not okay for that recording (i.e. I must expect that the show might be longer than given in the EPG) ?
3) Go into hibernate, wake up and programmed recordings.
I plan to send the PVR into hibernate after e.g. 20 minutes of inactivity.
I have a pre-padding of 2 minutes and a post-padding of 3 minutes.
So 20 minutes after a recording the PVR goes into hibernate.
What happens if a recording shall start right in that moment.
I.e. a recording ends at 1:00 (programmed value excluding padding) and the next regording will start at 1:25 (excl. padding). Then the PC will go into hibrernate at 1:23 (1:00 end + 3 minutes post-padding + 20 minutes inactivity), but at that time the next recording should start.
How does GBPVR handle this ?
