No Live TV and Config Screwed
Posted by: jonnyknowsbest - 2005-07-01, 07:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I have an ATI 9250 and a Nova-T PCI (90002)

I have the following problems:

1) The config program does not display correctly. IE The buttons have no text on them and half of the labels for tick boxes have no text.
2) The LiveTV just displays a black screen. I can escape out of it and navigate, but no Live TV

  View DV camcorder on GBPVR
Posted by: A_Brass - 2005-07-01, 06:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I was wondering if its possible to view my DV footage through GBPVR either as a capture source or via a plugin. I'm not looking to record (although that might be nice). but just view the video.

Here is the background. If I want to playback my video camera footage I have only one choice, I can get out the A/V cable and plug it into my TV.
But it would be even better If I could make one connection (1394a/firewire) to the pc and playback the video though the PC with access to the transport buttons(play/rw/ffw/stop), via GBPVR interface. Since GB is already hooked tot my TV and Home theater I would only have to make the one connection.

Is this possible? Or as someone developed a plugin that might accomplish this?

Thanks for reading.

PC power on useing RTC for recording n then power off after recording
Posted by: qwq - 2005-07-01, 04:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

thought of this... a function in the program record scheduler which will set the RTC(real time clock) in the motherboard to power on the pc maybe about 5 mins before recording starts.

and when recording is finished. if there is no recording for let's say the next 10 mins, it will set the RTC time for the next recording and then power-off or hibernate the pc.

sounds cool? it will save electricity bill.. :-P

Live TV - Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Posted by: Steven Good - 2005-07-01, 03:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi, I just installed GBPVR, first I would like to say it's great, solved all my Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe problems Smile

I plan on making a donation next month, sorry for the delay, but I have to pay $1490 this month for a dental bridge (ouch! - broke a tooth and it got pulled - double ouch!!)

After installation, I was able to perform several scheduled and manual recordings, I watched the recording with VLC. I was also able to watch the recordings from GBPVR itself.

When I tried to watch the TV live with out recording, I get an error message on the screen. I went to the Live TV screen and get the following.

Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

If I can not use live TV, it is not a big problem, because I can always use Move Mill (live viewer and recorder, but can not schedule recordings).

One other quesiton, when you have two recordings scheduled back to back, and you have padding set. Is the program smart enough to know not to use the padding at the time where the two recordings stop/start?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

  VideoArchiver Shrinking Pending List
Posted by: cameluk - 2005-07-01, 02:22 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (9)

The pending list in the VideoArchiver plugin I'm using is shrinking

The normal Recordings screen shows all the pending shows for the next two weeks, but the one in the VideoArchiver is showing fewer and fewer days in advance although it used to show all two weeks worth

The PendingList.log file is throwing up the following ;-

System.ArgumentException: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: "01/07/2005 20:59:00" Key being added: "01/07/2005 20:59:00"

  gbpvr vs mythtv ? -----comparison
Posted by: adamsville - 2005-07-01, 01:38 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

I've been struggling with MythTV for a week now, because I'm atrocious at linux. I had NO idea gbpvr existed, and I JUST found this site 5 mins ago.

It appears that gbpvr does EVERYTHING mythTV does, except in a windows environment. Is this totally true, if so, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO sold!

Has anyone compared the 2, and what about media portal?

I have a totally dedicated box, which will sit on top of my tv:
Ahtlon XP 2700+
512mb PC2700 DDR RAM
Chaintech 7NIF2
Integrated Geforce4 MX
Integrated AC'97 Audio
120GB Maxtor 7200rpm hdd
Hauppage PVR-250

All I really want to do is:
- record my favorite shows (via my Haupp. PVR-250)
- copy them to my other windows box, take out commercials, and transcode to Xvid
- be able to schedule recordings in the future, for example, setup to record every episode (in certain timeslot) of SG-1/SG-ATL (for example, ofcourse)

It looks like gbpvr can do it, so I'm SOOOOO happy! Once I get it setup tonight I'll be donating, so THANK YOU sooooo much, whoever wrote this!

Oh yea, has anyone had experience with GBPVR & MythTV & Media Portal? ----how do they stack up?

Problems with MPG/AVI files from other sources
Posted by: nchamp - 2005-07-01, 12:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I've got a couple of files sourced from elsewhere (i.e. not recorded by GB-PVR). One is a .mpg from the internet (the Kylie underwear ad - yes, yes, I know...), and the other is an .avi recorded by a mate on a video camera on holiday.

I dropped them into folder where GBPVR could find them and asked it to play them. In both cases the TV screen is black, there's no sound, and the green bar tells me the footage is 12 seconds long (in both cases it's several minutes).

Both these files play just fine using Windows Media Player (9 and 10).

Wont wake up for epg update
Posted by: KnightRid - 2005-07-01, 12:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (29)

Hi,

I am having a problem with the auto epg update, in the fact that it wont wake the computer to do it. I have the box checked, and the computer ALWAYS wakes to record programs, but I have to manually update the epg to get new programming.

I am hoping someone might be able to help with this.

Thank You
Mike
