  Moved Recordings - Uh oh.
Posted by: PorkRind - 2005-07-02, 12:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Ran through a quick installation of gbpvr after updating the drivers and software of my Hauppage PVR150 last night. Forgot to set the Recordings directory, and found the shows I had set to record last night all hanging off the root of my C: drive.

Decided that they'd be better off on my much larger D: drive, I created a directory (sorry, still can't call 'em "folders") and moved the recording directories under it. I re-ran config, and set the Recordings directory to the newly created (and populated) directory. Well, guess what . . . now nothing shows in my recordings view in gbpvr.

So I figure there must be an XML, ini or database file somewhere that holds the pointers to those old show locations. Is there? And is there a way to update it?

Thanks . . .

  CDK scheduler priority questions (JRock)
Posted by: garetmax - 2005-07-02, 12:16 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi JRock,

I had some questions about the CDK scheduler. Jorm suggested I post over here for you to see it.

I'm still not sure what determines which has the highest priority between multiple season recordings? Is it first in gets priority? Does this apply to an Xrecord season recording or season recording set from the core GB-PVR program? When I look at my re-occuring shows in Xrecord the list is constantly changing order. Why is this doing this?

What determines which has the highest priority between a Xrecord season recording and a Xrecord CDK scheduler recording?

I can adjust the Xrecord CDK schedule priority list for a CDK show versus CDK show to change that priority, but I don't see how to do it for these scenarios.

A) Xrecord season show vs Xrecord season show
B) Xrecord CDK show vs Xrecord season show
C) regular manual recording show done in Xrecord vs Xrecord season show
D) regular manual recording show done in Xrecord vs Xrecord CDK show

Sorry if my post is confusing.

Thanks

Hauppauge Media MVP $49.99 plus tax after rebate
Posted by: linfor - 2005-07-02, 11:59 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

Not sure how many folks here care about rebates but Circuit City has the Hauppauge Media MVP 1000 for $99.99 with a rebate of $40.00. Plus you can use a coupon for $10 off online - DJA3QLGADC or this coupon for $10 off in the store Link for MediaMVP

Tipstr covered using the Media MVP with GB-PVR in this post

Netradio used to work.... but not anymore
Posted by: Shader - 2005-07-02, 11:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've been using netradio for about 3 months now.
But since 2 days I only get error messages that netradio can not get connected. I've tried several other plugins 2 days ago but uninstalled them all.
Maybe I deleted a file or overwrote something important.
Winamp is still working though.

Anyone ?

Video 'skips' during 'on screen display'
Posted by: Shader - 2005-07-02, 11:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

First of all... I'm from The Netherlands ergo my english isn't that good :-)

I've got a small problem...

Everytime the on screen display appears the video playback of live television and videoplayback stutters.
I've tried all possible settings (overlay/WM9/etc) but I can't seem to solve the problem.

Is there anyone out there who can help me ?

My hardware setup:
Hauppage PVR150
Radeon 9250 with tv out
P IV 1.8 ghz
512 MB ddr
7200 rpm HD with 8 mb cache

Software:
GBPVR using overlay

GBPVR/USBUIRT Not Sending "Enter" after first channel change
Posted by: NPS - 2005-07-02, 07:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have successfully learned the remote control codes for my Scientific Atlanta satellite box with GBPVR and USBUIRT. I have set the configuration option to send "enter". However, after the first channel change which is successful, the "enter" code is no longer sent and therefore the channel won't change.
I am using GBPVR v.0.92.11 and USBUIRT driver v. 1.3. I tried uninstalling GBPVR and reinstalling. I tried changing the the config.xml value ChannelChangeWithoutEnterKey from "True" to "false", and also RecycleUSBUIRT settings. I have also added the intercodedelay and repeatcount to USBUIRT definition file. No luck.

I am hoping someone can solve this problem for me. Thanks.

  Picture Quality
Posted by: marv2009 - 2005-07-02, 05:25 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

GB-PVR is working great.... I would like to know what the best s-video cable is;
My computer is high end - plenty of everything. TV is is seven years old - just
a yellow (composite?) input.

Not (quite) as good as tv without GB-PVR, but thats OK - Big problem is that
when I'm watching sports (my primary interest), the picture is sometimes blurry
for a second or two. Just a matter of adjusting the configuration settings?

Also, the s-video cable is hooked up to the graphics card. Is that correct?

  Disabling OSD on MVP
Posted by: phaser2001 - 2005-07-02, 12:05 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Hi there,

I'm having a problem watching live TV from my nova-t usb2 device on an mvp. When i select 'live tv' the first channel i select appears without any problems, and i can change channel by using the up and down buttons. However, if i type in a channel number, or press the go button, or in fact do anything to get the transparent OSD to display, the recording service on the PC crashes with a faulting mpgmux.ax (i'm using the cyberlink mux). The service also crashes immediately if i try to go into a live channel from the tv guide, because again the transparent overlay is displayed.

My questions are these : is there a fix for this problem, or if not, is there a way of disabling the transparent OSD display for the MVP altogether?

Many thanks in advance

Required spec for GBPVR server? Newbie.
Posted by: SteveE - 2005-07-01, 09:48 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Hi,
I've had a home network/server project on the go for a little while now. I've pretty much got the house wired with cat5 and have put together my server which is going into the loft along with the switch, ADSL router, etc. My initial plan was to have this solely as a file/mp3 server but after researching standalone mp3 streamers I came across the MVP and GBPVR and have liked what I read!

As my initial requirements for my home server weren't that huge (apart from big storage) the spec isn't fantastic - it's a PIII 933Mhz with 256Mb ram. Storage is taken care of by an Adaptec SATA Raid card and at the moment it's all running W2k3 Server but I can rebuild to XP quite easily if you think it'd be more compatible?

Basically, if I get a Nova-T PCI and an MVP, what sort of performance can I expect from GBPVR on this sort of kit? Apologies if this is a "length of a piece of string" question.

All help/comments appreciated,

Steve
