What BIOS "wake-up" setting needs to be enabled to get the PC to wake up from hibernate for GBPVR recordings. I can't seem to get a consistent wakeup from hibernate (i.e. sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't).
My GB-PVR machine will often (in the middle of a show) "fast-forward" through a section of video and audio suddenly. After that the audio and video sync will be completely screwed up. What may have caused this? I'd appreciate any assistance - thanks
I was just wondering why some of the great plugins and utilities don't make it to the Wiki. Some of these seem like they've been through pretty good testing already and have been out for awhile.
I have been experiencing problems with WMA files when trying to play them through the default music plug-in and the jukebox plug-in on my MVP.
The Problem is that the WMA files only play for a few seconds and then stop and once I have selected one WMA file, then try to play a different one, the first one starts to play, again, only for a few seconds and then stops. :mad:
MP3s however play absolutely fine.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or know of a fix? :confused:
I finally have my GBPVR system running in place driving my TV. The system configuration is described in my sig and the output device is a Panasonic Tau-series 26". I have managed to get the configuration so that the GBPVR opens on the TV while the rest of the XP functionality is on a temporary 17" LCD.
I have my Comcast cable running to a +10dB RF Amp/4-way Splitter that feeds the two PVR 150 MCEs. In addition, our Dish Satellite receiver feeds the composite inputs on one of the PVR cards. From a functionality standpoint everything works however I am plagued by audio and video quality problems.
The Hauppauge cards have the latest drivers from SHSPVR.COM.
In my test configuration I had problems with video which I attributed to low signal levels coming off the un-amplified cable TV feed. However, the problem remains even with the RF amplifier in place. I am using the "CyberLink Video/SP Decoder" due to system crashes I experienced with the Intervideo decoder. (I made registry changes to support VMR with the CyberLink video and that works fine.) The video remains "snowy" on many channels and no apparent signal on a number of others. No change to video decoder makes and difference so I am still of the opinion that the Hauppauge cards have very poor performance with even normal signal levels.
For audio I tried several decoders and anded up with the "MPEG Audio Decoder" for best results. The Audio Renderer is the "SoundMax Digital Audio" supporting the onboard AC 97 audio. This combination of decoders is also used for the DVD playback. The audio quality on TV is very poor and exhibits low frequency rumblings, especially when there is music in the TV program sound stream. SoundMax on my machine supports a "Virtual Theatre" feature that allows the user to simulate various types of settings ranging from a hallway to a hanger. I have this disabled but it does not seem to make any difference, the audio is simly terrible no matter what settings I use. Thye audio problems are no where near as pronounced when playing a DVD so I tend to think the problem with the audio is also related to the Hauppauge cards.
As I said everything functions but the video and audio quality are very poor. I have tried every combination of audio decoder and audio renderer and I am unable to get quality sound.
i am planning on building my first ever pvr and have settled on the following components:
-Accent HT-400
-samsung p120 160gb SATA
-512mb memory
-a nvidia based board (probably an a7n8x)
-a 256mb FX5200 (or FX5500) or use my 128mb Ti4800se and use it as an excuse to get a Gf6600GT for my main pc.
-PVR500
this would be a dedicated pvr so silence is top of the list in terms of priorities.
i decided against the intel cpus due to their power requirements (=heat=noise), BUT am unsure as to whether i should get an XP, Sempron or MP processor!
It took a while but I've no got GB-PVR set up and it's working REALLY good. One thing i'm not entirely pleased with though (and I'm sure this is not the fault of GB-PVR itself) is that when use VMR9 the colors get a bit "watered out". I think that it's mainly the black point that is too low so I get deep grey instead of black. It's actually the same in zoom-player when running on VMR9, in overlay it looks good in both applications though. I could ofcouse use overlay but then I don't get the fancy alpha channel effects on the OSD and also I can't change aspect ratio. Is there any way that I can adjust the brightness? For example is there some sort of general settings for VMR9 that would be used in all applications?
Also, is there a way to change that AR with the Hauppauge remote (PVR-150)? IF there isn't isn't one of the "color buttons" unused, could this be assigned to that button?
I tried to get some info about playing a divx file on the tvout of the pvr350 but I couldn't find any usefull info on the forum.
I know that I have to "decode" the divx to mpeg before I can send it to the tvout,
can this be done on the fly? Or do I have to convert the divx files to mpeg
overnight?
Any tips?
Is there a way to remap the remote keys used by certain plugins?
The reason I ask, is that in TV guide when I hit the select key it brings up the option window where I can select to record,..., or watch. If I hit the play button then it starts playing that show. This is great, however the play button is FAR away from the arrow and select buttons. I would like to remap the keys such that select starts playing the show, while the record button brings up the option window. The play button can remain the same.
