I am new to tv recording and i have looked through the forums and tried a heap of things with progress but i have come to a halt. I cannot record or view live tv. If i click on live tv the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds the goes back to the menu display, All of my recording came up as failed as well.

Would attach logs but not sure where they are....sorry
I've got a PVR350 and just added the PlayTV@P7000 and I am not having any luck getting it to work. When I try LiveTV the log extract says:

Is this card still supported, or am I out of luck?
I'm new (obviously.) I just found this site about three days ago, and have since contemplated buying a PVR card to record my favorite shows without buying a TiVo.
I have a computer with a GeForce4 MX 440 (I think I got that right...) that apparently has a TV-Out. (I have no idea what that means.)
So, I need one of those PVR cards, like those listed at the main page.
My TV is rather old, and only has a cable thing, so I go through my VCR so my Playstation 2 works, but I'm not even sure this matters.
Bottom line, what do I need to set up a PVR with my computer?
[A step by step guide would be nice, I'm rather slow with computers since I stopped watching TechTV.]
I know, being new, I might be asking too much, but I am rather greedy, and really want this PVR thing to work.
I started out with a 0.91.12 installation and a WinTV-PVR-150 (retail) tuner card. My GB-pvr has been working fine for about three weeks.
Wanting to record and watch multiple programs at one time, I aquired a WinTV-PVR-500MCE. I installed the card and connected a second antenna connection to it. The first card works fine, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the second card to work.
The 150 is installed in PCI slot 0. I have it configured as Capture Source "PVR150", Hauppauge PVR 150 driver, Capture Device #1. It seems to be working fine.
The trouble starts when I try to configure the 500. The 500 MCE is installed in PCI slot 3. My sound card is in PCI slot 2. I have tried to configure it as "PVR500-A" and "PVR500-B" using the Hauppauge 500 driver and Capture devices #2 through 6. I couldn't get it to record anything. Next I tried configuring it using the Hauppauge 150 and 150 MCE drivers and it still doesn't work.
When that didn't work, I saved my original installation and uninstalled GB-pvr. Wanting to use my original database, I installed a fresh installation of 0.91.12, and went through the same process. I still can't get the PVR to recognize the 500.
I just installed GBPVR and set up my PVR-250, but my remote won't work, and even though I have a zap2it account and it recieves channel info, nothing shows up on the guide. I set up the remote as Hauppauge IR Blaster and set the direct access on the Misc tab....is there anything I'm missing?
btw should I not have the IR Remote app that came with the card running?
Hauppauge says on its website that I should be able to upgrade to driver version # 22_23070, but when I follow their instructions device manager reports an older different driver version.
Has anyone else dealt with this? How do I upgrade to 22.23070?

i know xrecord can kind of do this (not very easily thou) and i couldnt figure out if guide2j could do this, but on my 350 tv3 in nz i get utter crap reception, but on my 150 i get excellent (well alot better than on my 350) and i want to make it so that all recordings for tv3 (this would be a manual thing under the "recordings" screen or something not on a quick record) could be set to be preffered to record on my 150 and not my 350. so if the capture source is unused (or im watch live tv, since i use my 150 for live tv) it would, stop live tv (if in use) and start recording on my 150, leaving my 350 unused. if it cant stop live tv thats ok, since if im watching live tv anyway that means i will probably be watching what im going to record. its only realy and issue if im not there and it uses the first capture card free (my crappy 350).
i was thinking of just removing my tv3 from my 350s channels, but sometimes i like to record two shows on tv3 and two shows on tv 2 at the same time, err
i record joey (730-800) then scrubs (800-830) on tv2 and simpsons(730-800) and malcom in the middle(800-830) on tv3.
so just an extra option for "preferred recorder" would be nice (listing them by name not capture source "1" "2".
and yes i know cdk can kind of do this, but that can be a pain (even with the xrecord interface) especially if you want to set this for every recording on a given channel.
Tonight I had scheduled a recording to start @1900 with a 1 minute pad at the beginning. A few minutes ago I noticed that it did not record the complete show, instead I got about a half second of it.
I flipped through the logs and this was all that I could find that was dated tonight and around the approximate time of the problem:
Please help.
