  Installing BDA drivers for Nova-T
Posted by: Vertigo1 - 2005-06-24, 06:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I have a Hauppauge Nova-T card (90002) that I want to try out with GB-PVR but I understand that I have to use the Technotrend BDA drivers to do this.

Can someone please give me an idiot's guide to how exactly I install these drivers? I've currently removed all trace of the Hauppauge drivers so I basically have the unknown devices listed in Device Manager but any attempt to install the Technotrend drivers for these devices fails with XP moaning that they're not compatible.

Where am I going wrong? Any help greatly appreciated.

GB-PVR and GB-PVR MVP Server Issue?
Posted by: EwanG - 2005-06-24, 02:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

OK, I'm getting a tad confused, and I suspect it's all a problem at my end. However, I figure I can't be the ONLY one having this issue, so figured I'd put it out here for those who know to correct me. FWIW, I'm running GB-PVR 0.92.11 on XP 2 Home on a machine with a PVR-350, 512 megs of RAM and a P4 2.93 GhZ.

The recording service is setup as a service, and comes up when the box comes up. I then had been starting up first the GBPVR-MVP server, and then GBPVR itself. Task manager shows this as two instances of GBPVR, but things run pretty well for about 24 hours. After about 24 hours, something causes "System" to start running at close to 100% CPU. I thought this might be the EPG update, but since it doesn't seem to ever stop, I doubt that's it.

So, I tried running GBPVR first, and then the GBPVR-MVP server. Sure enough, after 48 hours no problem. However, now when I hit the green button on my remote to get GBPVR back into focus, it gives the focus to the GBPVR-MVP server. Which means I have to go over to the PC and click to get the focus, then move back to where the TV is.

Does anyone know what might be going on that's causing the system task to jump up? Should it matter whether I run GBPVR or GBPVR-MVP first? Any idea what I'm doing wrong or misinterpreting?

TIA,
Ewan

  Dates on programs?
Posted by: Stargazer_Ken - 2005-06-24, 05:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Sub, I was wondering if you could add the date a movie or program was created in the guide? I don't know if it is information that is included in the Zap2it info but if it is, it would be a nice addition.

Thanks,

Ken

  150 & UIRT....Girder not required?
Posted by: capone - 2005-06-24, 03:27 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Do you need Girder if you have 150 & remote, but you're adding a UIRT? It would just blast the haup IR, right? And you would only need Girder if you had, say, the FM 150?

I just added spdif output to my board, and finally have the receiver plugged in, and the sound is great. That was, until I realized I couldn't turn it down anymore ;]

I'm between getting a USB sound device w/ an optical out and the UIRT and keeping the spdif plugged in. I figured it would be nice to have one remote at this point.

Is it possible to download more than 1 week of the Zap2it tv listings? I've looked but can't seem to find where this could be done if at all.
Thanks

Posted by: kunal07 - 2005-06-24, 02:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I just installed a PVR 150.

Under playback settings, there is only PVR350 and Xcard. I tried using 350 and it said "no PVR 350 found".

How can I use the 150's hardware decoder?
