MyMusic is not showing me filenames
Posted by: GoodGuys - 2005-06-23, 10:15 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello,

Whenever I try to use MyMusic to browse for my MP3s, all I see is a list of:

Code:
00. 3:21 00. 2:29 00. 4:17 00. 3:44 ...

Maybe the ID3 tags in those files exist but are empty, but I don't know...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
GGF

Live TV start / stop stutter
Posted by: GoodGuys - 2005-06-23, 10:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (28)

Hello,

For a while now, I have had an odd problem. When starting Live TV (I use Hauppauge-350, live-preview, VMR9), many times things are fine, and them sometimes I got a strange situation:
Start watching, all is well for 2-3 seconds. Then the image freezes for 1-1.5 seconds, and then continues correctly for 1-1.5 seconds, and then freezes again and te cycle repeats.

I've been experimenting with different settings, and here's what I found:

  1. I have left it in this state for 5 minutes, and it did not get better.
  2. It happens a lot less with Overlay.
  3. Some channels do it more than others, but I can't pinpoint a specific difference.
  4. Changing the live-tv preview buffering from 500ms to 750ms has helped a lot.
  5. Switching to InterVideo decoder and Muxer, also reduced this a lot.
I don't believe this has something to do with horsepower. My system is an Athlon64 3000+, with 512MB of CL2.5 ram, a PCIe nVidia 5300, 200Gb SATA.

Thanks,

GGF

  How To Close Program
Posted by: jerry430 - 2005-06-23, 08:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I recently changed my config to watch TV in full window mode on my PC. When I did this, I lost the "X" in the upper right corner of the window. Is there a way to close the program, other than using the Task Manager?

ratDVD...holy crap! The new Killer app??
Posted by: GeneralChaos - 2005-06-23, 07:01 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

This post might be a little premature, but I just ran across this crazy program that I have never heard of: ratDVD. (Thanks to http://www.torrentspy.com)

It essentially compresses a full sized DVD down (all features, audio, subtitles, menus...everything) by about 1/3 of the original size and allows for storage and transfer. Then you can uncompress it to fit on even a single-sided DVD with (supposedly) pretty lossless quality.

I am currently in the process of compressing one of my Seinfeld DVDs and I will post later and let you know how it turned out.

Imagine using this program in GVPBR to digitally archive some of your movies on HDD. And better yet...if it is possible, view your XXXXXXX.ratdvd file without uncompressing it.

Anyone else played around with this program?

pvr 150mce - windows boot problem
Posted by: fatjester - 2005-06-23, 05:53 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I can install the drivers (with difficulty) on Windows XP SP2, and everything works (viewing tv, recording) until I reboot. Windows crashes immediately after the black windows startup screen, and then I have to boot with the last known working configuration prior to the driver install.

I have used several versions of the 150mce, and regular 150 drivers, and the same problem occurs.

This is on a clean install of windows xp sp2.

Any ideas or tips?

HDTV WONDER™ REMOTE CONTROL EDITION

Would this work? Its the one from ATI that can pull HD over the air.

Thanks,

Chad
