I have 2 tuners in my box: one Hauppauge PVR-150 and one Hauppauge PVR-150MCE. One of them is hooked up through a cable box and uses an IR blaster, and the other one is hooked up directly to the cable. They have the exact same lineup, except that the one that goes through the cable box also has HBO while the other one does not.
I've only had GBPVR set up for a few days so I haven't established a pattern to the problem, but I've noticed several times where I've been recording one channel and tried to watch another channel (that both tuners have), and it's told me that no tuners are available for watching live tv, or I've tried to schedule two recording at the same time (one with HBO and the other on another channel) and if I don't choose the HBO recording first then it will not let me record both at the same time.
I'me assuming that, because both of the cards are essentially the same board, that I need to have one of them set up as board #1 and the other as board #2. If so, should I switch them around so the one with HBO is board #2 (so it will use the other board for recordings first)? Would doing that involve swapping which PCI slots the boads are in (if I want to actually swap #1 and #2 and not just switch which one goes to the cable box)?

Hi all. Another Kiwi signing up for GB-PVR. I've been banging my head against Windows XP Media Center 2005 for the past week after performing some upgrades on my PVR from an old ATI All-In-Wonder 128 card. Dealing with DVD decoder problems, video card driver problems, TV stuttering problems...And on top of that, I couldn't even get half of the channels in my area (Auckland's North Shore) tuned in (After attempting to battle with the MCETuningOverrides.xml file and the TVAutoTune section of the registry). Bleah!

So about an hour of playing with GB-PVR and reading some article's here, and I'm rocking and rolling. That's how it should be! Great stuff...I do expect that getting the EPG to play nicely will take some work which is what was driving me towards MCE in the first place. We shall see.

Two silly questions if I could. Can anyone tell me why the Support area says it has almost 4K threads, but I can only see "1 to 20 of 20" and there's no "Next page"? And two, is there some end user documentation on GB-PVR? I'm curious about features like simultaneous record and watching using my Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-500MCE, recording codecs, and things like that...

Over a period of 4-5 weeks I have had the 150 just produce a black screen and no audio three times. Not a good scenario if you want to rely on it to record! The last time I found I could get it back by just uninstalling it in XP's Device Manager and pointing the New Hardware wizard to the dvr folder. This seems to point to a XP hardware issue. Somehow XP loses the dvrs??

Anyone had this issue and found a reliable cure? TIA.

After more testing the problem occurs after re-booting. If I then disable and re-enable the device it often springs it back to life.

I have got a PVR-150, and have had live-tv going before, but now I get this error 'ERROR: object reference not set to an instance of an object'. I have changed the settings, and removed all plugin's apart from live-tv, but can't seem to get it working.

I will try and get hold of another HD and do a fresh install of XP and see if that works, but if anyone has any other ideas, that would be great!

* Play (or Control Y) of a directory now queues all the folders under the directory as well as all the files in directory itself

* Album art now looks for default.png, .gif, or .jpg if folder.png, .gif, or .jpg is not found

I have some video files that were previously recorded DivX files in 16:9 and when I play them back in GB-PVR it's playing them fullscreen in 4:3.
Switching between VMR7 and VMR9 doesn't seem to alleviate the problem.

Any thoughts?

Since upgrading to 09211, it appears that when I update the EPG, it downloads the listings for all channels, not just those that I have selected. (This is when using Bleb(UK)). I was reasonably sure that previously it only download my selected channels.

Am I loosing it?

after setting the gbpvr recording service priority from high to normal and later replacing the mpeg splitter from directx 9b with that version from 9c this odd 0kb recordings seems to be gone, with one tuner records. both sources work on its own with either cyberlink or ss (ss usual gives the smoother picture on the mvp).

But if i record from two sources simultaneous it will fail, nearly 100%:

either both files are 0kb recordings or only some minutes will be written at both files. the tray icon stays green forever, shows "recording" bla.... All following records dont start. No errors shown in the logs (the recording service log shows "record done" at right time, then no more entry). anyone succesfull uses a similar setup?

Why does the record service not terminate in case of an recording-error than it could be restarted by the system and the following records can take place ????

When the GBPVR recording service is running (but not actually recording anything) I find that I get continuous disk chatter (about every 2 seconds GBPVR does a number of file accesses). It is very annoying. I have included a log of the file access from the excellent "filemon" program from sysinternals. Is there anyway I can stop this from happening?
