Since the new release I noticed that the recording bitrate seem to be stuck at a medium level, regardless of the settings in config. I have "Medium" set for VBR 9000 (12000 max), but everything records at 7200 VBR. (I have everything set to record on the medium setting). It used to be my recordings were 3 GB/hr, now they are 2 GB/hr. I have 2 cards and they both do this.

Today, I made a change to my XMLTV grabber config, and wanted to re-load the EPG. [The change in XMLTV grabber only tried to get more titles split into subtitles correctly].

Since I had a previous problem that caused updating from the try icon to crash, I went into the config utility, edited the capture source, and hit Update-EPG.

The update appeared to complete successfully, and I returned to the list of capture sources (I had 4, for tuner + 3 line-ins of my PVR-350). The list was fine. I pressed OK, and the recording service was restarted.

I then started the frontend GUI and it said "Configuring ..." etc. There were no channels at all, so I entered the config utility again, and found out that all capture sources, and channels disappeared. All other settings appeared to be in order, though...

Very strange. I reconfigured (some 10-15 minutes of work, no biggy, but frustrating, menial work), and of course all season recordings were gone. The "Recordings" button also had nothing visible of the recordings I had stored. This itself is no big deal again, since I can use My Videos with correct configuration of a directory, but the whole thing is just plain weird, and not fun at all.

As a first-aid measure, I'd like to ask for a utility that backs up all databases, etc. I can then run the config utility from a batch file that first saves the settings, and if this happens again I can resotre things and see why this happens.

default mixed mode for everything can be enabled in the skin for now eventually I will move it to the config.

movies (under videos) cant be deleted and always mixed mode.
again I have not had time to add this to the config yet, in the config.xml at the same level as Video Path 1 etc…. You can now specify Movie Path 1 etc….

done for ready,pending, reoccur, schedule, video can use numbers like phone as well.
New button on CDK scheduler called clear, when you hit clear it will delete all matching recordings
in the pending list. Delete just removes the watch.

You can now suspend a reoccuring program and resume it later, so when a season ends
you can suspend them till it resumes.


Fixed Bug - Double clicking the Conflicts button exists me out of xrecord to the Main Menu
Fixed Bug - Clicking / Double Clicking on the Exit button in the Free Space window does nothing.
Fixed Bug - When the manual window is open, if I accidentally click outside of it, I receive an error message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Fixed Bug - Installer bug deleting the users postprocessing.bat and postupdateepg.bat has been fixed.

Strange one this

Have got audio when playing files, even playing recorded TV files - good.

But when I try to use live tv the pictures there but no Audio, even stranger is that if I go to scan for channels, there is audio when I go in but not if I click on one of the scan results (audio goes off)

Any ideas?

The Situation:
I have 4 episodes of a particular program recorded and available in the "ready" bit. Usually I watch and delete in order and have no problems but this time I kept them for someone else to watch. When I came to delete them I started deleting from the bottom up.

The Error:
When I delete the last recorded show in a folder it deletes it and lists the remaining shows but there is no show then "highlighted". If I press "OK" on the remote it crashes out with an "Object not set to an instance of an object" Error. I'm returned to the main menu.

I tried updating to the latest version (I was only a couple of versions out anyway, I follow the "if it aint broke, don't fix it" philosophy) and it still errors.

Update: Cant count and cant write batchfiles :-( Sorted now.


Hi. Since the last release I have set gb-pvr EPG update to none. In my batchfile that does other things (defrag etc) I run this:

In the tuner card config for each card is set to grab "epgdata.xml"

However It does not seem to update the programme guide? Is this right? Am I supposed to set the EPG to none and am I able to do the update externaly and expect gb-pvr to see this?

What am I doing wrong here?

I have some mpegs that were recorded on my PVR350 from a digi box. These are in letterbox format which I would like to convert to widescreen.

Is there any software that will do this, ie crop the top & bottom black bars & give me a 16:9 mpeg so that I dont have to use the zoom function on my widescreen tv?

I have now moved almost everything except plugins and skins.

Since some plugins/skins feels "old", I will not move any of plugins/skins unless you either report to me with what skin/plugin/GB-PVR version they work, or you can of course move them by yourself.

Well, I've dug around in here for a while and didn't see this posted, so here goes. I stumbled across the config setting "prompt for resume" on the misc tab. Per some notes that I read a few days ago, this is supposed to allow me to resume playback of a movie at the place that I left off. However, if I turn this flag on, the second time that I attempt to play a movie, GBPVR just hangs at the very beginning of the movie, and I never get a prompt.

Am I missing something, or is there a bug in here somewhere?

It seems to happen whenever the recording finishes. Today the error occured this morning and I clicked OK and the error dialog went away. This evening when I returned home, I saw the error again and wrote it down. I checked the file it created and the last recording that was scheduled has not stopped and had created an 18G file. Amazing that that is possible, but not exactly what I wanted <g>

Any help appreciated. I'll send any config/log files needed for diagnosis.

I'm including what I think are interesting entries in the log file.
