  HD-3000 (pcHDTV) card
Posted by: burgessms - 2005-06-22, 08:18 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Any support for this card ? I've built up a mythTV box, only to have
knoppmyth not work.
is :
CASE ANTEC SONATA w/Fan & PSU
VGA EVGA|FX5200 256MB TV/DVI 8X AGP
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe P 4 800MHz FSB
SuperTalent PC3200 1G-512X2 DDR400
Zalman CNPS7700-ALCU CPU Fan Socket 775/478/939
Intel Pent4 3GHz 800MHz 478pin 512K Northwood SL6WK
arctic silver ceramique heat grease, buffed in.
Segate Barracuda ATA HD 120GB win & 200GB KnoppMyth
EMPREX x16 DVD/CD RW burner
pcHDTV HD3000 tuner card http://www.pchdtv.com/
With full CPU load http://www1.distributed.net/
MotherboardMonitor shows 15F above ambient, with fan at
slow speed. A VERY quiet PC.

If needed, I'll get another tuner to use till knoppmyth gets a bit more novice friendly

Recurring Manual Recordings change start time
Posted by: multirotor - 2005-06-22, 08:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

My recurring manual recordings sometimes change their start time to their stop time, meaning it only records the padding time around the stop time.

I record the same show every day for two weeks long from 17:00 until 18:30 and suddenly it starts to record from 18:30 until 18:30.

It also shows 18:30-18:30 in the pending recordings.

I had this twice now.
First time I thought I had done something wrong, now it's no longer coincidence.

Any ideas as to what to look at ? Log Files ?

Recording service stops doing its job
Posted by: dazz - 2005-06-22, 07:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

After a day or two or three my recordings stop happening! Just now it was supposed to be recording. I rebooted and as it was shutting down an error message pops up. But, as it is in the process of shutting do, I don't have time to catch it. I noticed this also previously (error message pops up as it is shutting down). Next time I will try to memorize the message. Once it reboots it immediately starts recording (as it should) and other recordings happen as they should for the next day or so, until something happens, at which point no more recordings happen.

Actually I just read the thread just before mine about "Microsoft error" and I think my problem may be the same. It may be an InterVideo problem. I can try unregistering intervideo, then see after a few days if the problem has gone away.

  FM Recording

I am in teh planning stages ofmy PVR. I plan on using GBPvr with a Hauppage pvr-150MCE. In additon to timeshifting my tv programs, I would like to timeshift a few NPR programs. Can GBPvr do this?

  DVB recording bitrate on PVR350
Posted by: Clanky - 2005-06-22, 03:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

What would be a reasonable bitrate for recording UK DVB on a PVR350 from a settop box? Too high would be pointless & too low would lose quality

  PVR-500 MCE confusion
Posted by: reboot - 2005-06-22, 03:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

These things are so cheap, I'm going to buy another, however, the only model available is listed as "for MCE only".
I think this is a false claim, as the MCE model should be able to work with gbpvr in regular XP pro, it's just a matter of what drivers to get, correct?

Problem: I want to get a retail version with the remote, but can't find any in Canada!
Anyone have a link, or maybe a spare 500 they want to sell?

  Weather
Posted by: jsteele - 2005-06-22, 02:34 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (10)

For the past week or so I've been having a problem with the Weather plugin. It APPEARS that after GBPVR has been running for a day or so if I check the weather I get an error message 'Sorry - unable to retrieve information' (or words to that effect.) I can try the weather selection several times all with the same result. If I exit and restart GBPVR the weather shows up fine.

Anyone seen this before?

  Watch DVD with GBPVR
Posted by: Spiff - 2005-06-22, 02:00 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (13)

Hi,

i use GBPVR together with a PVR350 card. Is it somehow possible to watch DVD movies with this card? I installed the "My Videos" plugin and configured an external DVD player. But when i start playing DVD i can only see it on the normal PC monitor not on the TV!

Thanks,
Spiff

  Audio question
Posted by: btownsend - 2005-06-22, 12:59 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

I just now thought of this and being new to this kind of stuff I have to ask.

What device do you use to get the sound back to the TV once you have recorded a show? Do I need a sound card with RCA jacks or an external USB sound card to do this?

The more I get into this the more I feel like I need a crash helmet. Big Grin
