  No Tuner
Posted by: linfor - 2005-06-01, 11:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I installed the Hauppage PVE 150 MCE and hooked it up to my system via S-Video and also RCA cable. I then installed the GB PVR and got the channels. The problem I am having is that when I schedule shows in BG they do not record. I get a message that there is no TV tuner installed. Can anyone tell me how to fix this please.

  mencoder plug-in 0.0.1 released
Posted by: erik - 2005-06-01, 11:02 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (18)

I have released a new version of the mencoder plugin
It will convert mpg to avi
It does not require an additional dll.
It uses a newer version of mencoder

The new version can be downloaded from here

If you download from here
the quicktime dll (to be put into the gbpvr homedir) it will also convert quicktime to avi (experimental)

  No files saved when recording
Posted by: nofilesave - 2005-06-01, 10:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

I have been following GBPVR for some releases now, and I must say the program looks great. But I miss out on the key features of the program, because I cannot save any files.

If I try to record a show, the folder that should contain the file is created, but it`s empty. And if I don`t use live preview all I get is the "starting timeshift mode tv, please wait", and then it jumps back to the main menu.

Any help is highly appreciated....

  New plugin: Convert2wme 0.0.0 for MPEG-VCR
Posted by: erik - 2005-06-01, 09:37 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (5)

This is my second plugin
it can be downloaded here

The plugin will convert the .txt file generated by comskip to a .wme file used by Womble MPEG-VCR as a cliplist.

When a new comskip (or ShowAnalyzer) is available that can generate .wme files there will be no more need for this plugin.

The plugin includes a convert2wme.bat file that can be used to convert already existing comskip .txt files to .wme files.

Instalation:

Copy convert2wme.bat to your gbpvr home dir and study the example postprocessing.bat on how to use this script.

Thanks to reboot for the testing Smile

  recordings are 0k
Posted by: giddonah - 2005-06-01, 06:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

I finally got it all set up and just tried recording a half hour show. The file is 0k and won't play. I used the scheduling thing and recorded the show off the show guide thing where it said "quick record". Also, when lining up shows to record, I can't change the frequency to "recurring", I have to add all episodes manually. Is this normal?

  BDA-device error
Posted by: cypher0815 - 2005-06-01, 06:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi,
can anyone help me with the following error message?
"GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured...Reason:Failed to locate the configured BDA capture device"
I tried two different cards (Technotrend Premium S 1.6 and Technotrend Budget S1102) and only tried BDA Driver Version 4.4.10.0. Which drivers do i need for these cards. Is there a way to check weather the driver is ok with another test program?

Thanks
cypher0815

  a couple of small bugs
Posted by: reven - 2005-06-01, 06:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

just a few list of bugs that popup on my system more often than i would like

- Failed to playback file, when one show starts a new one stops
- If i push skip/ff/ctrl-o during timeshifting mode sometimes it kicks me out when i get close to the end of the file (err as the file is still growing), i think i get the same message.

anyway you could improve safety checks here so these things dont happen (well not as often). if you need my logs i can send, but doubt they would say anything all that interesting.

  Anyone made an IR blaster?
Posted by: StupaFly - 2005-06-01, 02:29 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (17)

Supposedly you can get the parts at a local Radio Shack and throw a blaster together. Anyone done this? How difficult is it? Any schematics (for a regular Joe, not for an engineer please...)?

Andy
