  Anyone made an IR blaster?
Posted by: StupaFly - 2005-06-01, 02:29 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (17)

Supposedly you can get the parts at a local Radio Shack and throw a blaster together. Anyone done this? How difficult is it? Any schematics (for a regular Joe, not for an engineer please...)?

  Removing Plug-ins
Posted by: itc_sburnett - 2005-06-01, 02:25 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

In teh plug-in config panel, there is a Remove button that on my setup NEVER becomes active.

I realize I can remove plug-ins by deleting the dll and associates skin directories. I can live with this for such an AWESOME collection of coding!

Im running 09.208

Thanks Again!!

  Remote
Posted by: Blazer - 2005-06-01, 01:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

First, I am a new member at this forum, but if I get half as much info from you guys as what I have recieved elseware, then I am doing good.
My issue is with the remote control that came with my Sapphire Theatrix (ATI Theatre 550). what can i configure it as? It isn't recognized by gbpvr. so I can't use it. it is an infrared remote but it doesn't get picked up by the program.

  extend support for MCE remote
Posted by: venger - 2005-06-01, 12:11 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

Hi there sub,

Thanks for answering my previous support question.

Here's a feature request then : extend support for MCE remote. Smile

Most of the buttons already work (ie, up/down/left/right, numbers). It would be great if support can be extended to cover the rest of the buttons:
- MS Green button
- Info button
- Recorded TV/Live/Guide/DVD menu buttons

Just wishing Smile

  Automatic commercial skip
Posted by: rj_lutz - 2005-05-31, 11:45 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (18)

In searching the forum, I found several mentions of automatic commercial skipping, but all concluded the (un)reliability of comskip made it a non-trivial task to implement. My experience with comskip has been very good, and I would definitely use an automatic comskip feature for my kids' shows, because when I'm not watching with them, I'm always running into the family room to skip commercials because I feel some of the commercial content is questionable.
I think a setting in the configuration is reasonable, since you can always disable it and restart the show if the comskip marks are incorrect.

  Plugin subcategories
Posted by: jvcleave - 2005-05-31, 11:28 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

It would be awesome to be able to organize plugins into categories. For ex:

On the main screen i would like to see only the:

TV Guide
Recordings
Live TV
Other

if "Other" were selected it could take you to various other plugins installed: weather, ttheater,rss,etc..

this maybe possible with some xml hacking already --anyway thanks

  MVP - crashing on FF
Posted by: onestar - 2005-05-31, 10:35 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (10)

Okay first, I'm using .91.11 haven't upgraded yet, purely because I always upgrade and mess up something!!

Anyhow, just got an MVP and started to use that with GBPVR. However when FF/Skip the adverts, I can almost get it to crash everytime.

Click FF button, normally skips forward 10secs on GBPVR (350out). Clicking SKIP normally skips 60secs on GBPVR (350out).

On the MVP the FF button will skip 10secs (after a brief pause), but pressing this a few times results in no more FF, or SKIPS working, and intermittent PAUSE or STOP - although the OSD appears. A few seconds later the box will crash.

If I chose to SKIP (1min) and press it carefully then it seems to work ok.

I have the logs if they are of any use. From the logs it appears that the connection is lost and one or the other decides to recycle.

Would upgrading fix this problem? or is it more generic?

  Minimum Hardware Requirements?
Posted by: rwcrooks - 2005-05-31, 10:07 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

So, this looks like a nice product and a good support community.

What are the minimum hardware requirements to be able to record one show and view another at the same time? For PC and video card. Looks like I might want to go with the MVP.

Thanks!

Hello I'm very new to this, I was wondering if there was a way to configure the left and right arrow keys to control the skipping of video files when playing them with Gb-pvr?
