I have to report one bug a PAL version of Theatrix is showing - everytime I reboot or cold start, the capture driver goes to NTSC-M instead of keeping PAL-D setting I need to get correct tv picture. I didn't try your soft yet, but have you encountered similar behaviour? Any suggestions? I tried BTV and orig soft, both unable to keep my PAL-D setting...

Hi,

I have the problem that here (in Austria) some movies are sent with
a 'second audio program', that is, instead of the two stereo channels
there is one mono channel in german and one in e.g. english.
When showing this movie, I hear on one speaker the english voice
and on the other the german voice - really annoing. I currently 'solve'
the problem by unplugging the connector of one speaker - not really
a good solution ...
Does anyone have a suggestion how to solve this problem? Maybe it
can be supported directly in gbpvr (by allowing to select which channel
to replay)?

I have my computer running GBPVR hibernate when not in use. But what I have noticed is that when i use the My Music Plugin, play songs, and then stop them, the computer never enters into hibernate mode.

Is something loaded into memory that keeps running when I activate music? Or are there other reasons why my computer won't hibernate?

Is there a way to get show information (i.e. channel, length, category, etc) from another computer on the same network. The only information I would have to start with is the path/filename.

I would prefer something that GB-PVR does natively. Or at least something that most users would not have any difficulty setting up.

I just bought a PVR-150 and I'm using GB-PVR, and most everything is working great! Only problem is that on two channels, 7 & 9, the audio is not present in the recording. However, if I choose the 'Watch Live TV' option, I can hear it fine. For example if I pause, and hence it starts using the timeshift recording, then the audio disappears. This always happens (it's not like it's flakey or anything), and I don't think it's a frequency problem because I can hear/see everything fine when watching tv through the GB-PVR 'Watch Live TV' option. Plus, it only happens on two stations for me.

Does anyone have any ideas? Otherwise, I'm having a great time with it, truly a nice piece of software. If I can just get these channels working, I can get WA (wife acceptance) and install everything. Thank you!

This is a strange one. I updated to to 0.92.8 last week without problem. (Great release!) I have been using xrecord instead of the recordings plugin. I liked the idea of the new features that Sub added, so I went into config and checked the recordings plugin so I could use it. I also turned on the FM plugin at the same time. When I closed config, windows gave me a message something like it was "installing new software..please wait" After it finished, GBPVR loaded fine and it now shows the additional plugin buttons. Unfortunately, it looks like it overwrote the MDB file and my ready folders are now empty.

I backed up the MDB file when I upgraded and still have the copy. Can I just replace/rename it into the GBPVR.MDB file? or since I am now using 92.8, will this not work? Do I have go back to the old revision, replace the MDB and then reupdate?

Any ideas why it "auto-reinstalled" just because I turned on a plugin?

Which EPG do people use for UK Freeview? I find the RadioTimes/XMLTV plugin quite handy. However, I'm looking into writing an app which will extract the freeview over-the-air EPG and save it as an XML file for GBPVR to load. This would populate the EPG for the radio channels; I would really value being able to set one-touch radio recordings.

An additional feature I had in mind for this was, for the channels for which EPG data is carried by the Radio Times, being able to select which source to use for that channel.

Also, each freeview channel has it's own Logical channel number. Is it possible for an external application to alter the GBPVR channel number mappings (i.e. change the corresponding settings file)? Would be much nicer to have each channel automatically map to its Freeview LCN number, rather than the user having to set each one up manually.

Was rather disappointed to find out that the directshow book I just bought (Programming Directshow For Digital Video, Television And Dvd - M. Pesce) contains one whole paragraph about digital TV. It says "go read the SDK documentation" :-(

Anyone got any ideas/comments about ways to increase GBPVR's usefulness with Freeview?

In GB-PVR v0.92.8 Live TV time shifting works ok and produces an mpeg2 file that grows nicely.

But testing on different machines shows that scheduled recordings on the TV Walker Mini produces zero length mpeg2 files. The gorecorder graph is using the following filters,

* HT MPEG Multiplexer
* HT MPEG1 Audio Encoder
* File Writer

The problem appears to be the qcap File Writer filter. I changed the graph to use each of the following,

* HT File Writer
* GB-PVR Writer
* Intervideo File Writer

and all worked producing an mpeg2 file that grew in size.

Would it be possible to get this fixed and even better specify in the go.ini or config.xml file a set of preferred filters e.g.

; Standard Filters are..
;Audio Encoder=HT MPEG1 Audio Encoder
;Multiplexer=HT MPEG Multiplexer
;File Writer=HT File Writer
;Specify AUTO to use system default filters

This would allow us, the users to mix and match filters that work instead of hard coding filters into the code.

I have an ASUS TV-FM card (http://usa.asus.com/products/vga/tvfm/overview.htm) and would like GBPVR to support this hardware.
It is a capture card with a tV and FM tuner.
I currently have to use Intervideo Home Theatre but that's pretty basic and sometimes quite stupid.
