Hi
Just bought one of these tiny tuners, and i must say i am well impressed with it`s performance, superb picture quality, the only thing is i would like to know would it be possible to use this software instead of the supplied software, i dont want to mess anything up by using different software but i would like a better looking interface and a few more features, any ideas?

Thanks

  multiple drive storage
Posted by: rjaeger1 - 2005-05-30, 08:37 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

was wondering if it's possible to have gbpvr record to multiple drives if necessary. what i mean is, if your 1st drive is full, the program will begin writing to your next selected drive and so on.

  Recording Sort Order
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2005-05-30, 08:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Left this question under the new release thread but didn't see any replies so I thought I would post it here....

Any way to set the sort order of recordings back to oldest recordings showing first rather than grouped by name order? I have about 75 recordings I am working through and I want to move through them in oldest order like I had been doing.

Now I have to bring up the Web Admin to see what the oldest recording is and then go into recordings....find the group....and then select the episode. Sad

Can the MediaMVP DirectShow graph be modified from a plugin?
Posted by: jmemmott - 2005-05-30, 07:33 PM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Has anyone been able to construct or modify the DirectShow graph used to read or transcode information sent to a MediaMVP from a Plugin?

I have a Series 2 TiVo as well as MediaMVP’s in my video network. When TivoToGo was released in January, I wrote software to display Closed Captioning information extracted from the .tivo files during PC playback. This capability is not supported by TiVo but is necessary for T2G to be of use to many hearing impaired. In the process of creating that software, I found it necessary to write a DirectShow Filter that gives me access to the native TiVo MPEG2 PES (this is not the GraphEdit/Moonlight remux that has become so popular but the principal is similar). Currently, I use this filter to transform .tivo files into mpeg files that will play perfectly through my MediaMVP’s. Because it doesn’t remux or transcode, it takes no more time than that required to copy the file on the hard drive. Distributing a tool that does this would be a violation of the TiVo TOS and possibly raise DMCA issues. I don’t want those types of problems so I won’t go down that route. On the other hand, if I can modify the DirectShow graph that is being used during playback from a Plugin, I can make the system read the original .tivo file and stream it to the MediaMVP in a format it can use in a native fashion – avoiding the creation of an intermediate mpeg file and all the issues that raises…

I check my traffic (In Los Angeles, you have to) on http://www.sigalert.com. My wish is to have an updated traffic report come up--kinda like the weather plugin, but traffic report!

  Web: "Play Program"
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-05-30, 05:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I am doing the web-access to my GBPVR machine, and there is a function on things that I recorded that says "Play Program" When I press that, it allows me to save it as a .m3u file. My default is to play it in I-tunes. But I opened it in Windows Media Player (since it's a video file) and it didn't work.

Any ideas on how this is supposed to work?

  Error with LiveTV
Posted by: dwforslund - 2005-05-30, 03:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I get the following message when I select LiveTV
Error: Object reference not set to instance of an object

I'm using a Hauppage WinTV-PVR-USB2 device. It sees the device
when scanning for channels and finds all the appropriate channels.
I'm guessing it is misconfigured, but I can't tell where.

  MyVideos 4 and Ctrl-O
Posted by: gehing - 2005-05-30, 02:27 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

I installed the new version of GBPVR (GBPVR09208.msi) and version 4 of MyVideos from 5/27. When I press Ctrl-O on any of my videos, I get a popup with the following error:
Error: Exception from HRESULT:0x80040200
Everything else works fine.
I'm using the XMEDIA skin, but this also happens with the standard Blue skin.
I'm running Windows XP Media Center with the latest fixes.
I could not find any error in the logs.
What could be the problem? How can I fix this?
With an older version of myvideos (version 3 from 04/11) I don't have this problem.
Please help!

  Thinking about MVP
Posted by: onestar - 2005-05-30, 02:00 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

Hi , looking for a few answers to a few simple questions

1. Can I schedule recording via the MVP, just like the normal GBPVR menus?
2. Can I watch different progs on different MVPs using the one GBPVR ? Is there a limit to the number ?
3. Does the MVP have to be in view of the remote control ? or is it still the GBPVR

Thanks
