  Only 15 threads?
Posted by: movie_lover - 2005-05-23, 12:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

As a GBPVR user, I frequently visit the forums to keep up to date with any tips and tricks.

However, I find that there is only ever one page of threads in the support forum, despite that fact that the forum selection page list several thousand.

What's going on?

Letterboxed TV in a 4:3 window?
Posted by: SimonInd - 2005-05-23, 11:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Is there any way to get live TV to show as letterboxed (16:9 ) when running fullscreen on a 4:3 display? It seems whatever I try the picture fills the screen when running GB-PVR yet appears correctly letterboxed if I run the WinTV2000 application.

Any advice appreciated,

Thanks

Simon

New Install of GBPVR IR dosent work?
Posted by: casperse - 2005-05-23, 08:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi

I have useed GB-PVR for a long time and now my father wanted the same setup.

I Installed all the Newest drivers to the 350 card.
That I found here in a build from SHS.
Here
If you know of never drivers please let me know Big Grin
Is there a MCE driver I can use in XP pro thats certified?

Afterwards I installed the GB-PVR and set the remote.
(He got the new remote with 45 buttons dont know if this makes a differens)

In GB-PVR I have selected:
* Use direct access to Hauppage remote control
* And the remote control type: Hauppage
* And the 45 button layout

In the setup of the Recording source card I have set:
*Hauppage IR blaster plugin

After doing a repair (Installing GB-PVR again) it almost works but only if I have the Menu Screen of GB-PVR active?

On my own machine I have the same setup, and it works!
And in my taskmanager I dont even have a IR.exe running but it works!!!

1) What am I missing, to use the remote without focus of a center screen? (It works on my own machine without a ir.exe running ?)

2) When shutting down the PC the recording service process dosent end you have to kill it/end process and then it takes 8-10 minuttes to shutdown?
Can this be because I reinstalled the GB-PVR software?

Hope somebody can help Smile

Cheers
Casperse

  Theatre Plugin
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-05-23, 02:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I love the theatre plugin, but i loved the "older" version better. I put my zip code and the two or three theaters in my area would pop up and show me the movies there. Part of me wanted to see movies from other areas. But now it's a little ridiculous. Every theatre in LA is shown. Here is my suggestion:

1. Is there a way to sort the theatre plugin based on zip code? that way, it still shows my closest theaters first
2. Is there a way to link the theater plugin with the new "gogetemall" plugin that gets the trailers?

  Playback in other media players
Posted by: Paul Gordash - 2005-05-22, 11:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

The files that GBPVR has generated in the last few versions seem to lock up Windows Media Player. I tired it on Win 2K with media player 9 and XP using media player 10. Both players cannot play back the MPG files generated by my PVR. Media player hangs so I need to end-task it. TMPEGEnc also does not recognize the files (crashes). Nandub gives the error "MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error".

Players that will recognize it are GBPVR (of course), PowerDVD, and Nero Showtime.

I tried changing to cosntant bitrate instead of variable bitrate and that made no difference.

This is happening on both my Win 2K box and my Win XP one as well. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks,
Paul

Just me musing again...

Sometimes I record stuff which I know my wife wouldn't be interested in and so delete it after I watched it. Other times I record something, watch it and then realise that she might, in fact, like to watch it so it ends up sitting around for a while until she watches it or we sit down together and go through the list (conversation: "Yeah, seen it", "No not interested", "No, haven't seen that yet, hang on to it" etc. etc).

What would be useful would be a mechanism to select a recording from the available list, watch it, then if my wife would/might want to watch it, I can 'mark' it as having been watched by me. That way after she has watched it she knows she can delete it. Similarly, if one of us notices a recording the other has done, we could 'mark' it as 'Not interested' (if we're not) so when the other has watched it they know they can delete it without having to worry. Similarly a 'To Keep' marker meaning - watched it but don't delete.

Just a thought.

Cheers,
Brian

  Problem with Hauppauge IR blaster
Posted by: mthornton - 2005-05-22, 06:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am new to GB-PVR. I downloaded and set it up last night, with my vew Hauppauge 150. Everything is working great except the remote.

The problem is not with GB-PVR, but with the remote setup, but I am hoping somebody here can help me out. I have a motorola digital cable box. I downloaded the latest IR software from Hauppauge to get the Motorola settings. Everything works, except I can not get it to send "Enter" after entering the channel. There is an option in the advanced setting of the ir setup program to "Send 'Enter' after Channel", but I get the message "Current Codset does not support 'Enter' jey; optioin disabled".

As it is now, when I change channels in GB-PVR (or any other software) the channel changes in PB-PVR, but the actual cable box just gets the number, but without enter the channel does not actually change. Anybody know a workaround for this?
