When viewing live TV, everything is fine, but when I want to browse the "mini guide" while watching TV, the computer seems to struggle. The video feed becomes very choppy. I have tried all my decoders and all of the deinterlace settings. I have also tried VMR9, 7, and overlay. Is there anything else I can try? I have Media Portal already installed, and after I got the DirectX 9 graphics card, everything worked fine (including all OSD's). I think the problem may be that the "mini guide" has transparency settings. Would a different skin turn the transparency settings off, or what else can I do to speed up the mini guide (other than changing hardware). I know that there is some way to make it work, since Media Portal works 100% fine.

Ok I just finished installing my second GB-PVR machine in the house, the all important living room PVR. Evrything works great except I'm not getting audio on about 1/3 of my channels. This is frustrating because the 1st GB-PVR I finished (I've done 8 or 9 of them in getting to the point where I felt it was ready for prime time) uses the same decoders (intervideo, NVDia and dscaler), the same soundcard (onboard via) and it's sound is perfect. The only difference between the two machines is the one where sound works on all the channels has a theater pro 550 whereas the living room pvr is using a hauppauge 150.
I've scoured the board and found where others using this card had similar issues but I haven't found any solutions. (I've tried the various audio/video combinations in config amd currently I'm running w/ live tv preview off)
Can anyone help?
hi! i've been reading a lot about turning my PC into a HTPC, i already have dolby digital surround, svideo out, and a very nice theater setup, i'd like to take it one step further and purchase a tv tuner card and install GB-PVR.
the specs of my machine are as follows:
amd barton 2500+ (~2ghz)
asus a7n8x dlx mobo
ati radeon 9500 pro
512mb ram
20gb wd hdd
80gb wd se hdd
dvd-rom, 52x cdrw drive
logitech z-640.
given that information, what would be the most effective, but least expensive tv card for me to buy and still be able to have GB-PVR function properly and fully? i'd also like it to include a remote. i don't want to cheap out, but i wanna know where i should be looking... i don't know if i need hardware encoding (i'm assuming the answer is yes), or if i can get away with software. also i'm curious if i need a card with tv-out (pvr-350), even if my video card has a perfectly functioning s-video out. currently my TV, and dvd is all running into a pioneer receiver, which is then sent into my PC's line-in. the logitech z-640's are plugged into the PC so that anything i watch on my PC can utilize the dolby5.1.
Just downloaded and installed GBPVR and it is fantastic. Much better than the wintv software that came with my hauppauge wintv pvr 150.
I am, however, having problems with audio. Sometimes when I change channels using the remote control, the moment the channel changes, audio is missing. If I switch to another channel the audio may come back and if I go back to the original channel, the audio is sometimes still missing or sometimes restored. There doesn't appear to be any pattern to determine if audio will be missing. I've watched a channel with audio for several minutes and it goes uninterrupted until I change the channel.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Anyone have any ideas?
I had the audio setup for my pvr150 set to all default values (sampling rate at 48khz, etc) and tried change the values, but that didn't appear to help.
I am trying to get a Hauppage Nova-t USB DVB-T device to work with gbpvr.
I've tried using both the latest version and version 9010 and neither will work correctly. Using the older version, i tried installing the newer version, copying out the BDA folder and bda.ini files and adding them into a fresh installation of the 9010 version, as suggested on these forums, and now the channel search just jams on Scanning 1 of 57.
If i use the newer version, it scans the whole length, and The Hits and Sky News appear in the preview box during the scan, but at the end it reports no channels detected. I have installed the mpgmux.dll using regsvr32, and that removed the multiplexor error, but i'm still not getting anywhere!
I have the latest (version 1.3) hauppage driver for the box installed too, and i can watch tv thru the hauppage wintv application just fine.
Been setting up my media center with GBPVR, using WinTV Nova, and the TV out of my VIVO GeForce 4200.
First problem is the appalling picture quality on the TV, its like ghosting or the colour out of phase. The POST screen where it is all black and white on the screen is ok, just anytime theres colour on the screen its terrible.
Connection from the Graphics goes to the weird Leadtek VIVO lead, and from that to a S-Video to Scart lead.
Im assuming its my cheapy £2.50 s-video to scart cable I got off ebay. So where can I get a decent one at a reasonable price.
I'm a newbie really struggling with this - I hope someone can give me some pointers. I have a Leadtek Winfast PVR2000 card in a Windows XP Pro PC. Broadcast tv quality is brilliant, but what I really bought the card for was to transfer my daughters VHS video collection to DVD as the tapes are beginning to wear out.
My video only has a single SCART socket, so I bought this lead combo .
The supplied SCART adapter plugs into the VCR and connects to a 3 cable lead with phonos at the SCART adaptor end and a 3.5in jack and s-video male plug at the PC end. The 3.5in jack plugs into my sound card and the s-video plug plugs into a converter lead supplied with the card, which then plugs into the tv card.
I have posted a capture of the kind of interference pattern I'm getting at:
I have tried to relocate the capture card as far away from the graphics card as possible. The broadcast image is better, I think, but the image from the VHS recorder is the same.
Please note that the interference pattern occurs when I am just playing the video recorder 'live' through the capture card, so it cannot be anything to do with my recording settings (I think).
Any suggestions for what's causing this and how to rectify it?
(Also, has anyone ever got any actual support response from Leadtek? I've posted through their web site, emailed to Holland and Taiwan on numerous occasions and not got a single response. Guess they are DeadTek!)
