  Will my old TV card work?
Posted by: SicWitIt - 2005-05-15, 07:37 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I'm wondering if my old Pinnacle PCTV Pro card will work w/ win2k on a 1Ghz system using gbpvr? Does anyone have any experience using this card? Thanks in advance.

  live preview stutter
Posted by: mephisto - 2005-05-15, 07:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi all - got GBPVR up and working on my nova-t in a way i like now. I got mpgmux.ax as my BDA multiplexer and have all the channels set up nicely, I have one question which I don't know the answer to; when i watch live preview (and sometimes when i watch timeshift tv) it tunes in, is fine for about 1 or 2 seconds then stutters for a second then is ok. Its tiny I know but is this normal or is there something in my setup that is wrong?

cheers.

I've just packaged up the first pre-release for the v0.92 release, and want make sure I'm having the appropriate people testing it. If you have a vested interest in ensuring your skin/plugin will work with the next release, and want to get a chance to work through any issues before public release day, let me know and I'll add you to the pre-release testing team.

If you're interested email me at support@devnz.com. If you havn't posted here at least a couple of dozen times, dont bother emailing me.

There will probably be a few builds over the course of the next week, before being released to the public.

  Satellite TV GBPVR setup
Posted by: haripj - 2005-05-15, 03:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,
I tried searching for this, but did not find a post that had the connections we would need between the satellite box and the computer. I'm thinking of changing from cable to satellite. From what I've read, so far, here is what I THINK I need -
Satellite Box
Computer with TV in card - Hauppauge 150 PVR
S-video connection from Satellite Box to Hauppauge card
The rest of the setup is basically the GBPVR server streaming programs to the Media MVP over my wireless network.
Am I missing one component here?
Will the S-video connectiom also allow the computer to change channels on the satellite box? Or do I have to install the IR-blaster thing that I got from Hauppauge to do this? And how do I do that?
Any help would be appreciated.

  Broken Files
Posted by: mpoling - 2005-05-15, 02:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

GB-PVR seems to be writing a single show into multiple files.
Sub, you wrote me that it won't do that, but I watched it record an hour long show and I now have 176 files which comprise the Saturday showing of the West Wing. Some are 18 kb long!
Any idea of what might be happening as GB-PVR is definitely doing it. I had the write directory open this time and watched it create the files.
Thanks
Mike

  TV-Guide problem
Posted by: tblackwe - 2005-05-15, 01:59 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

hey. I was messing around in a theme and apparently I broke it.

When I go into the record feature to set how often to record it, the quality, and the padding, I get a oject not referenced error.

It works fine under the default blue theme, and the X M E D I A theme as well. I'm trying to find out what the object not ref is and what bit of code controls the record feature. I suppose I could just switch to guide2j, but I'd like to find a fix rather than a workaround.

  Any word on Showmessage and Caller Id?
Posted by: Maniac2k - 2005-05-15, 12:55 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Does anyone know when ShowMessage will be updated so he current caller id program will work. Or is there any other way to get Caller ID to display in GBPVR?

  Recording Status tray/window
Posted by: SWK - 2005-05-15, 12:18 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Would it be possible to have the name of each capture source displayed in this window? At the moment I'm testing with 3 different sources and the first source I created keeps moving up and is now #3.

Currently the 'bubble' displayed when the mouse hovers over the tray icon always shows 'GB-PVR'. Would it be possible for the 'bubble' displayed when the mouse hovers over the tray icon to show any recording details instead?

Thanks for consider

Sean

  Faulting application gbpvrrecordingservice.exe
Posted by: SWK - 2005-05-15, 12:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hello All

I'm getting this error very frequently when DVB recording finishes - around 30-50% of the time. Obviously the problem appears to be in MpgMux.ax, but I wonder if anyone else has this problem or knows of any solutions.

My setup is :

* P4 3.0Ghz, 1 GB RAM, separate 350GB hard disk for recording.
* Win XP pro SP2.
* WinTV PVR-250 with driver 1.18.21.22266 (22-Sep-2004)
* Pinnacle MediaCentre 300i with driver 1.3.1.15 (30-Aug-2004).
* GBPVR is 0.91.12b and I'm currently have the BDA multiplexer set to Cyberlink and have registered MpgMux.ax 5.0.0.727 (30 July 2004, 10:13:26).

I've set gbpvrrecordingservice to auto-restart on failure, but this can cause any recordings in progress on the other tuner to be overwritten - I know there's a wish list request for a fix to this.

I'm going to spend the rest of today testing any other MUX's I get can my hands on

Here's the error from event viewer :

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Application Error
Event Category: (100)
Event ID: 1000
Date: 14/05/2005
Time: 21:09:08
User: N/A
Description:
Faulting application gbpvrrecordingservice.exe, version 1.0.1930.13102, faulting module MpgMux.ax, version 5.0.0.727, fault address 0x00018fcc.

Thanks, Sean

  Possible?
Posted by: UKGuest44 - 2005-05-15, 11:25 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (9)

I was just wondering if something like this would be possible. I've never tried anything like it, so I thought I'd ask in case anyone has experience in this area.

I have a laptop connected to the wireless network in my house. The laptop is usually near the upstairs TV. The laptop's ethernet port is free, because it's only connected to the network by wireless.

Could I make a second "network" from the laptop's Ethernet port by a crossover cable to an MVP to connect to the TV? This would need to be seperate to the main network.

Would this be possible?
