  Guide 2J - What's the trick?
Posted by: capone - 2005-05-08, 11:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've been wanting to use this for a long time. More so since I went to all icons, and I miss having the number too once in a while.

Anyway, how do you watch TV w/ it?

I've tried hitting play on the remote...nothing. I go into the menu, no button to play or watch. I've looked at the config, and I haven't seen an option that says something along the lines of, "[check] Use to watch tv" :p

Is there anyone else who needed to do the open the Ark of the Conventant step to get this to work, or a dev w/ some asist? Thx for the hard work putting it together, regardless.

  WebAdmin and error 404
Posted by: n@boleo - 2005-05-08, 11:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

First i'm not using the EnhancedAdmin, just the one provided by initial setup. I entered login/pass and port with the config utility but i'm still getting this error :

Quote:Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
HTTP Error 404 - Not Found.
Version Information: Cassini Web Server 1.0.1930.13102
What did I miss ? Could it be related to my installation path witch is only c:\gbpvr ?

Thanks

  PAL resolution
Posted by: UKGuest44 - 2005-05-08, 10:54 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - No Replies

Hi,

This thing has been driving me insane. I'm trying to find a resolution to set the resize to in ffdshow when transcoding AVI's for the MVP.

This is a pal system, and I've tried all the resolutions I could find. I'm trying to do half resolution. These are the results I've got so far from the various things I've tried

384x288 - Fullscreen on TV, Side edges cut off (text runs off the screen)
384x276 - Black bar along bottom, Side edges less cut off than above
360x288 - Fullscreen on TV, Side edges cut off (but not quite as much as 384)
360x276 - Black bar along bottom, sides as above
352x288 - Fullscreen on TV, Side edges cut off as with 384x288
352x276 - Black bar along bottom and side edges cut off as above

I also tried doubling these up to the same results Sad - I am not sure about whether things are getting cut off at the top and bottom as the result is harder to notice

These are based on all references to PAl resolutions I could find on the web. The TV is a normal 4:3 (non-wide) TV.

I'd apreciate any help at all.

Thanks

  NOVA DVB-S Tuning problems
Posted by: Stevie77 - 2005-05-08, 10:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Formerly I used a Hauppauge Nova-S SE with the original software for recording FTA-TV-Shows from Astra 19.2E-sattelite.
I installed gbpvr as soon as it got DVB-S support (via BDA-Drivers).
Unfortunately the problem began with scanning transponders. gbpvr didn't get it through, hanging randomly at different transponders. It didn't even find all channels in the successfully scaned transponders. Instead it found a lot of DVB-Radio-Channels i don't need. So I took the scan.cache-file und wrote my favourite programmes in and deleted the not wanted. So I got gbpvr to run with my favourite programmes - running into the next problem.
Though changing channels within a transponder works sufficient, tuning another channel (on another transponder) fails only black screen showing.
The gppvr.exe-native.log tells that the channel hasn't been locked. Quality and strength are more than poor as it should be. Normally i have nearly 100% each when the working channels lock.
So when I restart my PC and first tune into that formerly not working channel which did'nt lock before - now he does. But when it tune back to the formerly working channel on the working transponder this is not working anymore (until I restart my PC).

I tried mediaportal yesterday (also working with bda-drivers) - same Problems.

The original BDA-Software from TT has no problems. Tuning in whatever i do......

  Deinterlace
Posted by: CarrotMan - 2005-05-08, 09:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

Hey guys. Really nice software.

First I have a few remarks - I haven´t found any notice, on how to change the tv image size in the window - but found it in the config.xml by myself (VerticalZoom ... ). Would be nice to explain it in the wiki.
I really had trouble to find out how this xmltv works - I think especially newbies would very much appreciate infos on how to handle this , as GBPVR doesn´t work without it (-> wiki).

So now my real problem - I can´t get my image deinterlaced in GBPVR
I have a hauppauge pvr150 with wintv2000 installed - works fine with that, good quality.
The only way to get a little deinterlace in GBPVR (with live preview mode on) is to choose Deinterlacing: Deinterlace Filter. But that takes 99% of my CPU power (compared to less than 40% with WinTV2k) and the resolution drops - very poor image quality  .
With live preview off it, deinterlacing is rather good (not as good as in WinTV2k) but I don´t wanna wait 30secs on changing a tv-channel.
I´ve read in other posts that ffdshow or dscale are very good deinterlacers - but I don´t have any idea on how to get them work with GBPVR. I have installed ffdshow-20050328.exe turned the deinterlace option on, but no change. I also tried DScaler 5 0.0.6 - same thing.

Except vlc player, I have nothing installed on my WinXP SP2 about videos - no filters, directshow, whatever...
So I´d be very thankful if somebody could explain me how to configure a working deinterlacer!

  PVR350 and DVD playback
Posted by: andreas_meier - 2005-05-08, 06:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello,

is DVD playback in combination with the PVR350 supported? I enabled the DVD item, properly set the DVD drive location but I still see no DVD button in the OSD although the log files says it enabled the DVD menu item.

I also installed a trial-version of WinDVD6 and I'm able to see DVD on the monitor, so the DVD seems to be running properly.

Any advice?

Thx

Andreas

  Help with streaming
Posted by: hooplife - 2005-05-08, 04:51 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hello,
This is my first post. I'm in the middle of planning and purchasing parts for my HTPC and I will most likely be using GBPVR for it. I was wondering if I would be able to use a Prismiq Media Player to stream files.
Thank you in advance.
