  Which keyboard
Posted by: hansi - 2005-05-03, 11:47 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I'm looking for another keyboard I could use from the couch and found this one. It is reasonably small (no numeric keypad) and has a built-in mouse and joystick and is supposed to fit nicely on your lap.

Maybe there are better options, so I was just wondering what other people are using.

  Overlay Color settings in GB-PVR
Posted by: Nanook - 2005-05-03, 11:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I hope this isn't off topic (bare with me)

I have just started using GB-PVR and it's perfect for my EPIA M10000, Hauppauge setup (Well done all involved). I have an issue with the VIA drivers where by the Overlay settings are too bright. I can adjust this in the Windows display settings, but changing the Saturation randomly affects the colours, they jump about as if I was changing the HUE.

I am using the THX optimiser with "The Phantom Menace" and "The Incredibles". The first screen shows 8 shades of white. All of which are white for me at the moment.

If I open WinDVD I can correct the brightness/saturation and get the colours right (or near enough, I'm not a total perfectionist). However when I save them and open GB-PVR (using the intervideo DVD player) they are still too bright. I assume the WinDVD settings are for WinDVD only and GB-PVR cannot use them?

Can GB-PVR control the brightness of the overlay, or the settings of the DVD playback.

I'm a bit confused and would really appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Nanook

How much disk space do you have
Posted by: onestar - 2005-05-03, 09:49 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (13)

Just curious, to know how much disk space you have allocated for GBPVR ?

I had a 160GB disk, for recordings really (ok 1 dvd movie which we wanted to see but havent) and this weekend I found it was full. I am a bit surprised - didn't think we watched (or had to watch) that much. Delete the stuff we have seen.

So I just added 230GB more.

Wondering what everyone else uses

  gbpvr hangs when starting timeshift
Posted by: toma2 - 2005-05-03, 08:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I think GBPVR looks very promissing, already got the EPG running, also TV viewing and web radio works fine. But when I during TV viewing press the pause button on my remote to start timeshifting the GBPVR sw hangs with a black screen and a small text message that timeshift in being initiated (don't remember the exact wording). GBPVR never recovers and after some minuts I have to "kill" it from the task manager.

I followed the installation steps as described on http://www.gbpvr.com, what is wrong with my system?

The specs of my system:
-EPIA MII10000 motherboard 1GHz processor
-512MB RAM
-PVR-250 TV card (using MCE drivers for PVR250, could that be it?)
-MCE remote
-WIN XP MCE (don't use the MCE PVR sw as it doesn't work with the grafics card integrated on the EPIA motherboard).

  Webcam Plugin not showing up.
Posted by: tdave00 - 2005-05-03, 07:52 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I installed the webcam plugin. Config sees it and it is checked but when I go into GBPVR it is not there. Is there something I am doing wrong. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

MSDE and My Pictures, ive never used MSDE
Posted by: reven - 2005-05-03, 07:31 AM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

im trying to setup MSDE with my pictures, hopefully improving the speed (loading thumbnails for thousands of images can take awhile using an access database Smile). i read this thread
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...t=database
and i installed MSDE, but im trying to set it up to work with my pictures, and i only want computers in the ip range 192.168.0.1-255 (ie my home network) to have access to the database, and my pictures uses these data types
- Memo (for filename)
- Number (double) (for last write time for the file)
- OLE Object (the thumbnail as a byte array)

so can anyone help me set this up, so its secure and i can trust no one on the internet can poll my database and screw it up. if i need to change some data types let me know, ill hopefully get this database going for my videos/music aswell, and set it up on my server so i only need one database for every copy of gbpvr i have running (which is only one, but i have big dreams Smile).

ps sorry for the stupid questions, but i need an idiots guide to MSDE Smile.

  LCD plugin feature request (Dinovo)
Posted by: larsie - 2005-05-03, 07:22 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

It'd be really cool to have support for Logitech's Dinovo 2.0 LCD display... I haven't found any APIs for this, so I guess I'm just dreaming.

Thanks for a nice product.

Best regards,
Lars

Setting to avoid scanning disks, avoiding spinning them up
Posted by: larsie - 2005-05-03, 07:19 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Hi,

I'd really like a setting that could prevent the RecordingService from searching the disks every 10-15 minutes or lengthen this period, as this spins up the disks and makes noise even when not using the TV-PC.

There's an entry in Support on this also, but I thought I'd add it here, since it's a feature request. Thank you.

Best regards,
Lars

Can a plug-in catch the Mute and Full keys?
Posted by: Jeff - 2005-05-03, 06:43 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

I would like to make use of these in my plug-in but they do not seem to make it to my OnKeyDown handler. I am using an MVP remote.

  Delete recorded videos.

Maybe i am overlooking something but where (if possible) can you delete your recordings from within GBPVR?

Thanks!
