So last night my wife and I are watching a pre-recroded program when I set my glass down on the table. It hit the power button on the MVP remote and shut it off. I then had to turn it back on, and hold the FF button down until we get back to where we were in the program.
My question is if there is a way to use the number pad to key in an absolute time to jump to that time in the playback.
Let me just say thanks ahead of time for the rapid response that you all give with problems people have. It is actually amazing at the rate you all get back to people.
I had a WinTV350 and bought a 150 so I could watch and record or record two different shows at once.
I did a clean install of the app to the latest .12 after installing the new card as well. I went in and setup the new card in the config util and assigned it to #2. I gave it the same settings as the 350 and then went to see what was working.
Actually nothing was working. I would try to watch live TV and it would just flicker a couple of times and then go back to the main menu. I could watch previously recorded shows.
I just have analog cable and I put a splitter at the wall and ran the cable to both cards.
I guess my first question is this: Do I need to run a splitter for my S-video and run both cards s-video to the TV? I would rather use the 350 for my playback but I am assuming if it is busy recording that it would want to playback on the 150 and there wouldn't be a way for that to work without a splitter. (that is unless I am just not seeing the big picture here...which can be the case)
I played around the numbering by putting both cards as #1 but read in a post that since my cards are basically from the same family that I will want to number them 1, 2, etc.. So I put the 350 as #2 and the 150 as #1. I did get live television this time but now I am getting some weird problems.
I had two shows to be recorded at both times. One show was recording but it was under the name of the other one. The other recording was just 12 seconds of black screen. I checked all the other recordings that happened yesterday and last night and they were all blank and only for 12 seconds.
Now at this point I just wanted to be able to record 24 tonight so I removed the 150 out of the config and set the 350 to #1 and it won't work now was well.
So at this point I am going to try to pull it all down at work with VNC and reinstall again and just hope my problems have gone away....but any pointers you all may have would be greatly appreciated.
At some point I made GB change what codec was being used for playback (added a bunch of codecs to get dvd to work). I am not sure if I was using default or the haupp one, but I know I had to use overlay to get it to not stretch it to fill my wide screen. Now, I can't get any of the codecs to run nonwidescreen. So, I assume I need to get some of the latest installed ones out or the way?
I have installed the lame encoder.
When I select the station, the recording service starts to capture; however, there is no sound what so ever.
Is there something else I need to configure to listen?

I have checked to make sure the skinHelper object is not null and I use it elsewhere in the same code block to read other settings so it seems to be okay. I also though perhaps I needed to allocate the color object before using it but that didnât change anything either. Any ideas?
I inadvertently found a way to remove a PIN from a video in My Videos 3.0 that probably isn't an intentional feature. When a video has a pin set the user, without supplying the PIN, still has access to rename of the file from within My Videos, and once renamed, the PIN disappears.
I'm thinking with a PIN set the user probably shouldn't be able to do much to it without supplying the PIN, and even when they do and decide to rename the video, it shouldn't clear the PIN on it.

Been playing around with the MyVideos3 plugin and came across an interesting configuration that causes GBPVR to crash and burn. In the plugin settings you have to set at least one virtual root which the plugin searches for media from. So lets say you set the virtual root the following:
d:\myvideos\
When theres nothing in this folder everything works fine. However if the virtual root contains any files that are of a significant size i.e movie, when the plugin loads, looking at the memory usage in task manager it would appear that the plugin it trying to open the file. It took me a while to figure this out. The solution is to not put any files in you virtual root, but instead create sub directories.
I've seen a couple of posts related to memory usage of this plugin before so thought I should mention it.
Have a weird problem. I have installed AC3Filter on my PC and can playback AVIs with an AC3 track fine inside GBPVR, however when I try watch a digital channel (SD & HD) that has was detected as having an AC3 audio stream I dont get any sound. Instead I get an occaisional stutter. I have a TwinHan DVBT card using the TwinHan BDA drivers. I'm using the Cyberlink decoder that came with the KLite codec pack. Is there anything else I'm missing? For channels that use normal MPEG audio it seems to work ok.
Hi there - I've been on and off scouting round for decent PVR hardware and software for quite a while now but have never really settled on anything really (too damn picky!). I'm in the UK and I want digital TV so i recently purchased the Hauppauge Win Nova-T (I thought i may as well go for that as it seemed a nice card, most of the DVB-T cards seem pretty much the same, I'm not sure if thats the general opinion?). So anyway - I got the nova-T and am awaiting delivery so I thought it was time to seriously start looking at the software options available and I came across this gem! I downloaded a had a fiddle (without my tv card of course so it was a *very* limited fiddle) and I've got to say that so far I'm really impressed. Things seem pretty polished and easy, and the config is great (always crashes when i click save but im thinking that could be due to the fact i have no tv card..anyway..) but basically I have a few questions that I wasn't sure to the answers; I've done a bit of forum searching but didnt find enough info so I've made a little list to see if people could give em a hand.
I will be using a widescreen LCD TV connected via VGA or DVI with a res of 1280x768 - are there any forseeable problems that I'm going to come across using GBPVR? Does it handle widescreen properly etc or is it primarily intended for 4:3 sets?
I noticed when using the software that skins seems very stretched on the res i mentioned above - I understand you can get skins emant for higher resolutions but i havent found any yet - any pointers?
on the same note as above really, the test seems quite blurred on the menu's - any way of making it sharper on higher res'?
I didnt notice a capture card option of the Nova-T; how do i get round that?
I understand that the My Videos plugin can burn your recordings to a DVD - are there any install guides or howtos for it?
Can I see DVD subtitles if I'm watching a DVD disk in the drive (not ripped, i understand that could be different in this respect)
The above are my questions, basically i want the software to allow me to watch live digital TV and pause it etc, have an EPG (preferably remotely accesible), be able to record and playback live tv, record those recordings onto a DVD for watching on a set-top dvd player, play DVD's (and have subtitles etc!), rip DVD's to hard disk, play music, rip music to hard disk, play net radio, show the weather, show the news. Thats a pretty big list, the latter ones are very low priority things but I'd still love them and I have to say that GBPVR seems to come the closest to doing all of them...
Anyway, hopefully some generous poeple will help me out I'm pretty much hoping that they have good answers as tbh I'd like to use the software and would definitely donate if it did most of what i need (obviously i dont mind some small niggles but the above things are pretty priority for me)
