  PVR-350 and Graphics card
Posted by: womble - 2005-05-04, 12:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

Is there any way to be able to play mpeg2 via the pvr-350 out and at the same time play another film via the graphics card tv output?
If i had 2 pvr-350s or a Xcard would this help?

Also is it possible to play different music to multiple rooms independantly if i had more than one sound card?

and yes another question.

Can i play a film and music at the same time?

  TVxb EPG problem
Posted by: Lindsay - 2005-05-04, 11:38 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

Probably only for Kiwis!
I use TVxb to produce the xml file but there are additional entries for the Prime programs. The dodgy entry is "<title lang="en">info</title>" and it also has3 little squares after it. This means that all the entries have "info" as the title! I can see where it comes from on the web page but lack the knowledge to fix it. At the moment I just zap all these entries but has anyone got a better solution?

stopping quick record in TV Guide hangs GB-PVR
Posted by: ecamacho - 2005-05-04, 08:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am using GB-PVR 12B, and if I do a quick record from the TV Guide, everything works fine, but when I cancel the GB-Pvr screen locks up.
All though it does it does stop recording, I have to restart the recording service in the system tray or end task GB-PVR and re-open GB-PVR for things to work properly again.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

  how to tweak start/end times
Posted by: mikelu - 2005-05-04, 06:17 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

I wanted to give American Idol an extra minute at the end, so I opened the gbpvr.mdb file and changed the end time to 9:01 and then the start time of House to 9:01. I looked at gpbvr Pending list to see that the times had been changed to what I wanted. After everything was recorded, though, the programs still changed over at 9:00, and when I opened the gbpvr.mdb file, it showed 9:00 instead of 9:01.

I think this has worked for me in the past. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

Thanks.

  Hotkeys?
Posted by: starsin2000 - 2005-05-04, 05:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am a newbie and was wondering if there is a list of hot keys? I don't have a remote. I want to know if you can push one key and start recording? How do you pause live tv?

Thanks

  Hibernate issues
Posted by: slayer - 2005-05-04, 04:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Not waking up with prior state.

I have enabled hibernation through my control panel, and I have enough disk space. However when I resume from hibernation, or when GBPVR tries to wake it up, i get the following DOS screen prompt:

"The last attempt to restart the system from its previous location failed. Attempt to restart again?"

I am presented with 2 options:
-> Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu
-> Continue with system restart

I tried the continue option but the same screen comes up again. The system boot menu just restarts the machine.

Anyone have any ideas?

On a related issue, standby will work, but I dont know how to resume without the keyboard hotkey (set in BIOS). Mouse intreaction doesn't work, and neither does the power button. Any clues on that one?

[edit] - also the sleeper program says hibernate is supported. my equipment is listed below.

  Multiple Tuner Issue
Posted by: kirschey - 2005-05-04, 12:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am using GB PVR with 2 PVR 250s, but the software only seems to work with one. I can either watch or record.

I added 2 tuners in the config. They are the same card and my windows recognizes both of them. Any help would be great.

  gbpvr logo - support
Posted by: dottore - 2005-05-03, 09:58 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (12)

hi there,

i added a site to the wiki concerning the new logo. you can download the logo in several formats. if this is not enough, post it here or let me know by private message, i'll try to add more formats, depending on your suggestions.

cheers,

dottore.

edit: i'm not really good in wiki-editing, so you can find the page at http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph.../GbpvrLogo. maybe someone with more know-how could edit the page and post it in the proper place.

  Bitrate/Resolution and Auto-transcoding Question
Posted by: King Mob - 2005-05-03, 08:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have a couple of questions. I've scoured these boards and can't find a solution:

What is the best bitrate/resolution settings for recording conventional cable? I've read elsewhere that the resolution of a regular TV is about 352x240 and that at that resolution the optimum bitrate is about 4000kb/sec. Is there any truth to this? I know others here use different bitrates/resolutions. I'd like to keep the record as close to the original broadcast quality as possible.

How do you configure GBPVR to auto-transcode recordings from mpeg2 to xvid/divx? There's mention of it on the wiki, but it says its not the complete code, and I'm not smart enough to finish it, I'm afraid. I'd like to set it so whatever I transfer to my achives gets transcoded to divx in the wee hours of the morning and during the workday. Is there a way to do this?
