I know you can select the quality recording settings through the web guide, but is there a way to set them in gbpvr directly when you choose to record something?

Program Reminder
Does GBPVR have the option to remind you a program is coming on - like DirecTV where it pops up on the screen? If not this would be a really cool feature.

Also, it would be really cool in the future to incorporate some Home Automation plugin like Meedio has (housebot). Haven't used Meedio but seems like a very useful feature.

I wanted to also say that I am very pleased with GBPVR. I have tried a few others and they were great; really impressed with how quick GBPVR loads and closes. My computer just wouldn't cooperate with them to my liking. I have been putting my HTPC together for over a year. Finally got a pvr-150 a week or so ago from Circuit City (they were on sale for $60 after rebate). I should have bought two. It works very well with my Epia ME6000 to my surprise. I have read many posts ,not just on here, saying that the epia board just wasn't powerful enough. It took some tweaking and a lot of reading, but it is working great. The only thing that doesn't seem to work as it is supposed to is the guide/information overlay when watching tv. Instead of being overlayed over the video the video just goes black. I see the information/guide and hear the sound but no video. I am pretty sure that this is just a limitation of my graphics card/drivers though.

Here is my setup (might help someone else using the same board).

Intervideo Decoders for dvd/mpeg playback
Hauppage Intervideo Non CSS Decoders for TV Viewing
Overlay
No Interlace
Uncheck Live TV
Start GBPVR.exe with high priority (seemed to speed it up a bit)
35-50% cpu when watching tv or movies (if anyone has better with the same board please email me or message me with your setup.

I am also seriously considering getting the new pundit (-R I believe). If anyone is using that let me know how you like it. I just don't think my little epia is gonna handle it when I add a few MVP's and try to do divx.

I want to connect an MVP box to a TV that's not near a network connection. Rather than dragging a wire, I thought I'd use my wireless network. What box do I need to do that? I thought I remembered some discussion about it a while back but I can't find it now. What I want to do is connect the MVP to a wireless box/adapter with a short network cable, than have the wireless box/adapter connect wirelessly to my wireless router, and thence, wired, to my GB-PVR box. Suggestions as to what box to use (hopefully a cheap one) will be appreciated. My wireless network will go up to 54Mbps...will that be fast enough?

I just started making some DVDs of TV episodes I recorded with GBPVR. I have the full 150 card. I used TMPGenc DVD Author, and when playing the DVDs back on my DVD player on the TV,the volume is VERY loud. I used TMPG since it doesn't transcode/re-encode/whatever if the file is already DVD compliant, but it must be doing something with the audio.

Does anybody have any ideas? What other DVD creation programs will totally leave a file alone if compatible?

I love GBPVR as it is, but since you asked:
The latest Hauppauge update has a "Resume" feature. If you stop a video file before it's finished, the next time you call it up, you choose between resuming where you stopped it, or starting from the beginning.
Second wish - VCD (MPEG-1) option - It uses less than half the space of the current low setting.

Hi, because GB-PVR now supports DVB devices with BDA drivers would it be possible for someone to add MultiDec or DVBcore API Plugin support?

There are many current DVB devices that do not have a common interface connection for a hardware CAM and smartcard.

But, if one of these API's was supported people could use GB-PVR to view pay TV services like TopUpTV, $ky Digital, and NTL cable!

They would still need a LEGAL subscription and smartcard but they could then use a cheap USB Phoenix smartcard reader and a free CAM emulation plug-in.

Because GB-PVR now has access to the raw transport stream patching in this support shouldn't be too difficult.

I have lots of information on these API's and I'm sure the guys from the DVBN would be glad to help out. Please let me know what you think,

Could someone who uses this plugin, or an Ir blaster like it, provide simple instructions for a newbie to set up gbpvr to control the myblaster.

I successfully tapes 2 episodes of the Simpsons last night - with EXCELLENT quality. It looks better than my cable feed if that's possible. Anyway, the cartoon looks great, but

1. Live action shows are still a little worse - fast moving heads and hands show some jerkiness.

2. Also, the "resume" function doesn't work. When I stop a show & restart, it just goes to the beginning. I have the "resume" box checked in the settings. I'm using the newest version (.12) of GB-PVR. Do I need a re-install? It worked for awhile...

3. My audio is also off by about half a second, I think - after a search of the forum I have a few things I can try to fix this tonight. (I know, for example, that I'm using a different codec for video and audio - that may be the problem).

Otherwise, I'm super duper impressed. I've also tried the BeyondTV trial this weekend, and I think that STINKS compared to GB-PVR.

So if you have ideas about my 3 issues, feel free to let me know. Thanks.
