I tried to watch the simpsons that i recorded, since the program begun a later then the expected, i had to ff to get to the recording start, what i have noticed, is that after a while of ff, the GB-PVR osd gets stuck on the screen and the only way to stop it, is to go back to the start menu (and again), and i have to re-look for the place the program begun.
is this a known problem? is there a workaround? <-- is it something that i did?
Does the GB-PVR support marking...(i'll explain).
if i'm watching a movie i recorded, and i have to go, and come back later, once i quit the player and i re-run it, it starts from scratch..., is ther a way to tell it, to continue from the place i stopped?
when i record through the epg, i defined that it would start 15min before, and end it 35 min after.
i have 2 questions for the recording please:
1. when i'm near the pc, and i see that the program ended, how can i "tell" GB-PVR to stop recoding (but not delete/cancell the recording)
2. when i wantch tv, through the GB-PVR, and it should start recording a show, it closes my tv window, and starts to record (even if i'm on the same channel, and i want to see and record the same tv channel simultaniously).
can anyone please advise?
I am looking around the forum to see if anyone esle has had any issues with FF during video playback. If i hit FF it just stops the video and i have to restart the MVP. Once the MVP restarts the reaction time with the remote is really slow, so i usually end up restarting the GBPVR MVP Server. I am using the default skin, the latest GBPVR version (as of today). If i use the FF with the Hauppauge MVP software it works. Any ideas?
Sub, is there a particular log file i should include?
Up to today, everything's been working great. Suddenly when I was downloading some episode information for something I'd recorded earlier in the My Videos plugin, GBPVR crashed.
After that, every time I tried to reload GBPVR resulted in it never actually opening. After watching it in task manager, the memory usage just kept increasing. (IE it ended up getting to around 800mb before my PC rashed). I tried restarting, and it still happened.
I tried disabling My Videos, and it all worked again with the obvious exception of My Videos. Ah ha, I thought - something must be wrong with My Videos. So I tried going through and cleaning the database, removing the entries in the database, going through the settings again to no avail.
So next I uninstalled GBPVR completely, and reinstalled. It worked fine. I then installed the My Videos plugin. I followed the instructions, put the database there, unzipped the files, went with the default theme for now in desperation, and tried again.
Unfortunately, that too did not work - although GBPVR started up with My Videos enabled, it isnt shown on the menu screen. I've tried having a look through similar problems here to no avail, they dont seem to be the same.
This is my most recent log entry, if that helps
(Please see attachment)
This is with the default skin and fresh installation.
I do not know if this is a GBPVR problem or a Hauppauge problem but here it is, I have cable TV hooked up to my Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 card and most of the channels are tuned and I get great reception except for channels 3 through 13. On those channels, the top third of the screen looks like it is not tuned in correctly and has static. Any ideas???
Today, I did something weird. I was going to start the config app, when I accidentally started a second instance of gbpvr. What I think I did then was to try to shut down the first instance, and then start the config app. i'm pretty sure I managed to do this before the second instance of gbpvr had enough time to show its GUI. But I'm not a hundred percent sure of which order things happened.
Anyway, I changed some setting in the config app (I added a directory to the videos path), saved and exited the config app. Then I shut down gbpvr and started it again.
Yay! "Installing gbpvr". Than you Microsoft installer. Database, be gone!
Thought, "I have a *really* old backup of my database in the gbpvr directory. Perhaps I can at least get my channel setup back". But, what do I see? old.mdb. From today. :-) I've never noticed that there is such a thing in there. Then again, I've never had to look for it before...
Good thinking, Sub. Thank's again for the wonderful work you put into this project! Can't seem to stress that enough...
Ok, i've tried about every setting i could 1st to see if it's a settings issue. Nothing fixed this. I've also uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, and tried default skin, and unchecked all but tv for troubleshooting.. Didn't work either, so i'm trying here hoping someone has some help for me.
What is happening is after i record a program (via manual, or a program guide recording,or any videos in my videos directory), when i try to play it back, i get an error. 'The instruction at '0x1c408726' referenced memory at '0x00000000'. The memory could not be 'read' error message. Hit 'Ok' or 'CANCEL' to debug.
What could possibly be causing this to happen? Or things i could try? Thank you for any help. I am really loving this program. Very nice!!!
I'm running the latest rev of GBPVR, X-Record and BlueMCE2 and my OSD doesn't seem to be updating. So for example once something is displayed ("resume" "restart" for example) it never goes away. So if I finish watching one show and start up a brand new one, the "resume" "restart" is stil on the OSD, even though I didn't resume... Any ideas?
