adjusting the tuning for my PVR150
Posted by: trashcan - 2005-04-25, 08:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

using the WinTV app after it has auto scanned all the channels about 4 channels have video but no audio. I had to manually go into wintv and adjust the tuning a little for the audio to show up. It works fine now with those adjustments on WinTV.

Is there a way to adjust the tuning in gbpvr?

Thanks

Various problems with GB-PVR and Hauppage
Posted by: cliffwiebe - 2005-04-25, 05:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi all. New to GB-PVR. It was working fine for me awhile back, but in the last while, i've had nothing but problems - maybe someone can help me with these:

1) On occasion, the info from zap2it doesn't come down and I have no schedule to look through. if i manually update the epg it's ok. this seems to happen once or twice a week.

2) Today i tried to manually record a program and was given 360 copies of the same program in my conflicts folder. I don't know what added this to my conflicts 360 times, but I don't know how to clear the conflicts except one at a time and I don't want to do this 360 times!

3) Sometimes when I have gb-pvr and hauppage wintv2000 (from usb2) open at the same time, it messes up hauppage's wintv and I have to reinstall all the wintv drivers.

4) sometimes some of my recordings don't actually record, while others do - i've double checked all the times and channels and they're correct.

any info would be appreciated.

Lock up while trying to watch current recording
Posted by: Tulex - 2005-04-25, 05:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When trying to watch a recording in process, screen goes black and I have to ctrl alt del to get out of it. It doesn't kill the recording though, just won't let me watch it during.

Selecting channels with no Pogram Info
Posted by: corporatefixer - 2005-04-25, 04:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have successfully downloaded some EPG program information for all the channels I want to watch except for four channels. These channels do not appear to have this information anywhere. Is there a way of selecting them from the tv guide when there is no program information

  Network Switch problem...
Posted by: cginzel - 2005-04-24, 10:53 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (13)

I've had GB-PVR working with my MediaMVP for some time now. My latest issue is that I can't seem to keep a Xlink Kia (XBox Live type internet link server) session connected to the internet whenever someone watches a show. I have a single router (LinkSys WRT54G) with two wired computers, one wireless computer, and the MediaMVP wired. Xlink Kia runs on one computer and GB-PVR on the other. I suspected that either the router was being overloaded witht the media traffic or that Kia was snooping that traffic and was getting overloaded. My friend suggested I put a switch in connecting the GB-PVR computer and the MediaMVP. However, regardless of how I startup the lot (I've seen the other postings about startup order), the MediaMPV gets a DHCP address (according to the router log), but then cannot seem to find GB-PVR and keeps "Contacting MediaMVP Bootserver" and then gets another DHCP address and tries again over and over... Running the Hauppauge Media server does the same thing. I read somewhere else that the Hauppauge Media server will listen on port 16867 for a DHCP request and will respond, so that doesn't seem to be working either.

If I connect the MediaMVP back to my router leaving the computer on the switch, all works as expected... Can anyone tell me why the MediaMVP can't find the computer when they are both on the same switch? The swich is a LinkSys EZXS55W 5 port workgroup switch.

  Problems with loading EPG
Posted by: MatthewHarmon - 2005-04-24, 09:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I get a warning dialog from the config program when clicking "Update EPG" using either Zap2it or the XML file. In both cases I see:
Failure in ChannelFactory::AddChannels() The INSERT INTO statement contains the unknown field name: 'favourite'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and try the operation again.
Any ideas?

I also notice that no matter how hard I try, I can't get the config program to save the recording source profile I am trying to create. Is this a byproduct of the failed EPG import?

Playback on TV-out with Asus A9520
Posted by: TheSaint - 2005-04-24, 09:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi, I'm new here (and to HTPCs, and dual displays, and..)
so be pe patient. Might not be posting in the right forum.

I'm experimenting in building my own HTPC. Your software is great and does all I'm looking for. I jsut have one problem:

When I launch it in full screen, it does not show on the TV (connected on the composite out of an Asus A9520-TD, ATI Radeon) but always on the PC monitor.

I tried putting the TV as primary display; moving the windowed GB-PVR to the extended desktop, closing and then reconfiguring for full screen; setting the TV as the only display (video could not play and the PC monitor was all confused, even if it was not supposed to receive any signal.

I'm sure it's something stupid I'm missing, but I could not find it in the forums Anyone has experienced this previously? Any help would be aprreciated.

Here's my setup:
Celeron 2.4Ghz
Windows XP SP2 (English)
WinTV PVR-250
Asus A9250-TD 128
(Power DVD, BSPlayer can display video on TV in full screen)

Thanks

Simon

  Live TV issues

Hello -- I installed GB-PVR few days ago. It runs just fine with my Hauppage 150 card. However, I have *big* problems when I enter the timeshift mode. I understand that ^Q is used to toggle the pause mode, ^K to start recording, ^R to rewind, ^F to forward, ^O to catch up (I assume that it means exiting timeshift mode). On my PC, playing with these keys always end up in "confusing" GB-PVR: it will never really rewind, it becomes really slow, when it goes forward, it goes very fast and there is no way to stop it, and I eventually get a C# null reference error message, which brings me back to the main menu. Please note that when it seems "frozen", the CPU is generally running at less that 25%. First, I would like to know if anyone has a detailed guide on how to use this timeshift feature, in case I just do not know how to use it... Then, can someone please give me some hints on what I could be doing wrong? Maybe an installation/configuration issue? Many thanks to all. Jacques
