Hi, I have a question about channel changer plugins. How well does the tunning assistant work as a channel changer plugin. Can it really change the channels on my external tuner? I have a digital cable box. I currently don't have my tv card but will have it soon hopefully. Thanks.
I'm building my machine now, and haven't even set up GB-PVR yet, however I've noticed that my Athlon XP 3000+ Barton is running around 49 degrees C while idle. This seems warm to me. Granted, it's on stock cooling, and I only have 1 case fan, but the computer is in the basement, which is a fairly cool room. Is this something I should be concerned about?
I've had a Hauppauge for a while now, it works great. Today I added a 2nd 150 card. The second card won't record or allow pause and rewind. It doesn't write to the hard drive at all. Also, when recording on the first 150, which still works fine, I can watch live TV on the computer monitor, but it won't go to my Media MVP. Any ideas?
GB-PVR looks really wonderful. I have a Hauppauge PVR-350, and at present I am only interested in using it to capture some VHS tapes, so I am on a quest for the best capture software.
It seems that gb-pvr is only usable to record TV shows? It looks like it should produce wonderful quality captures, so if there is a way to convince it to record from the SVHS input of the Hauppauge, on demand, I would be interested to know about it.
I have read the documentation, and didn't find this mentioned, but perhaps I missed it.

I wondered if it is possible to use VPS (Video Programming System).
Some TV Stations send a signal when the show starts so You are invulnerable to delayed shows...
I have another post where I stated I have a problem with recording television in that I get diagonal tearing and someone suggested that I use a different codec, my question is which codec to use and where do I get it?

I have installed thePVR USB 2 card but I can not timeshift :-( When I press CTRL + Q it says it will timeshift but then returns me to the menu :-( Any ideas?
Thanks to Sub for getting GBPVR to work with the TV Wonder Elite, hopefully I will be able to ditch PowerCinema soon.
I'm using a digital cable converter for my source, so I have been using manual recording to capture. Thus far I have only been able to capture video at a "medium" bitrate, about 5100kbps according to virtualdubmod. I have edited the bitrate settings for every recording mode available to try to get the card to capture at a higher bitrate with no resulting change in bitrate. I have tryed both variable and constant bitrate recording.
Am I missing something basic having to do with GBPVR settings? I'm wondering if the card is allowing the hardware encoding bitrates to be changed by GBPVR?
I have a question to see if anyone has experienced this.
I have a 350 and 150 in the system. Everything seemed fine for a few days.
Then I downloaded the hauppauge tweak tool, and added settings (default) for the 150.
Now this is guessing given the different numbers involved, that when I recording on the 350 everthing is fine (saturation set at 34). When I record on the 150 its fine too (saturation at 80). But if after that I record on the 350 the 150 settings are used ? and the saturation kills the recording.
I tried testing this, and think this is so, but it seems a 1 shot test, since the system blue screens after a while. It might be contrast or saturation.
So anyone else see this? I have deleted the settings in the 150 registry to see if the problem happens again.
I am going to get murdered here, this is the 3rd week a particular show's recording has gone bad (each week different reason (including replays)) DOH!
