  My Music Problem
Posted by: Lindsay - 2005-04-10, 02:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have spent quite sometime trying to find why my "My Music" plugin isn't working properly. I have carefully checked the install and the database is loaded but I can't get it to display the music titles. The right pane is blank, except for blue 'boxes'. It also seems to be pointing to the right locations as the number of objects reported at the bottom tie up with what is on my disk.

Here is a probably relevant extract from the log file:-

MyMusicTask created
10/04/2005 2:00:03 p.m..531 ERROR [2] Unable to find node: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="SelectorIcon-Focus"]/DrawImage[@filename="@Image"]
10/04/2005 2:00:03 p.m..531 ERROR [2] Unable to find node: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="SelectorBigIcon-Focus"]/DrawImage[@filename="@Image"]
10/04/2005 2:00:03 p.m..531 ERROR [2] Unable to find node: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="SelectorDetails-Focus"]/DrawImage[@filename="@Image"]

Hope someone can throw some light on this. TIA.

Request: Hi Resolution Skins (widescreen if possible)
Posted by: daphatty - 2005-04-10, 01:46 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

Maybe I am in the minority, but I would like to see some Hi-Res skins for use on HDTV's. I'm currently outputting GB-PVR to my 30" Widescreen HDTV (via DVI) and some of the skins available just look drab and stretched. Would anyone be up to the challenge of creating some skins that are better suited for TVs of this type? I'd be happy to test them and provide screen shots of their output on my TV. (Personally, I'd love to see a widescreen version of BlueMCE.)

  updating my epg
Posted by: cidc - 2005-04-09, 10:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi, I've been using bleb for some time now, but lately its let me down by being inaccurate.

So i moved over to XMLTV. Works a treat. However i have noticed i get a few "To Be Announced" messages in the EPG.

Now I have read my XML file and its correct. But GBPVR does not seem to update corrections to the EPG.

Anyone have any ideas?

  Telewest, usb-uirt and red-eye
Posted by: iface - 2005-04-09, 08:40 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I've put together an ir definition file for GB-PVR which works with usb-uirt to change channels on my Telewest Di1000T with a red-eye ir translator. It works well and should also work for models 2000 and 4000.

  Choppy playback with GB-PVR only???
Posted by: bburd - 2005-04-09, 07:40 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I'm running GB-PVR with a WinTV PVR USB2 and an old 900MHz CPU (with half a gig of RAM). The overall menu speed is fine, but playback is very choppy. The interesting thing is, when I play videos with Windows Media Player or with the player that comes with the WinTV PVR box, the playback isn't choppy at all. What's GB-PVR doing to mess us the playback, and what can I do to overcome the problem? I've tried a little tinkering with GB-PVR's playback config settings, but mostly I get a blank screen when I try to change them.
Thanks.

DVB recordings on MVP are OK - NOT on PC
Posted by: bgowland - 2005-04-09, 06:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

An odd one...

If I use either GB-PVR on my PC or Windows Media Player to playback a recording made with one of my DVB-T cards, I get weird results such as jumpy picture, stuttery sound, sometimes frozen picture but perfect sound....

The same recording will playback fine through my MVP however. It doesn't bother me much as I tend to watch everything through my MVP - it's just confusing me.

Any ideas anyone?

Object Reference Error when trying to watch live TV
Posted by: philcigar - 2005-04-09, 05:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

I get the following error when I click on live TV:

"Error: Object reference not set to an instance of object"

Can anyone help?

I am slightly hindered by not knowing exactly what sort of TV card I have in my PC, it will only tell me that it is a "H'page Win TV PVR PCI II (26xxx)", it has an FM arial so I assume that it is the 250 with FM arial listed in the configuration screen.

Cheers
Phil

  DVD2MPEG - Multiple Output files
Posted by: Guy - 2005-04-09, 05:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi Jeff / Anyone,

This is a great plug-in. Works swimmingly well! Just ripped three DVDs perfectly immediately after installing. Have just ripped another very long DVD & I'm getting an error from the mplex component, when it is about half way through re-muxing.

The error says something along the lines of: "output file cannot be split, filename has no %d for {path/filename of output file}"

Mplex seems to be trying to split the output file into two or more files for very large DVDs (the .m2v video file for this DVD has a total size of 4.7gig).

Anyway, running mplex from the command line, but actually putting "%d" within the output file name works fine & mplex re-muxes everything and creates multiple .mpg files, replacing %d with 1, 2, 3, etc in the output files.

But, as you can't control the filename of the output within DVD2MPEG (can you?), I can't use the plug in for large DVD's. I'm wondering whether you/anyone knows of anyway of forcing mplex not to split output files? Or, if there is anyway of specifying %d within the command parameters DVD2MPEG sends to mplex?

Thanks in advance for your help.

BTW - cracking software. I thought at first that there wasn't much point in spending time ripping DVDs just to get them hogging space on a hard drive. That was until my better half and I were able watch a DVD film on the MVP in bed & our daughter could watch the Incredibles on the MVP in the playroom......now just worried that our DVD player and Hi Fi are completely redundant with the GBPVR / MVP combo...

cheers

g.
