  Keep aspect ratio while resizing
Posted by: jamesth - 2005-04-10, 12:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

Apologies if this feature already exists.

I'd like to be able to keep the aspect ratio of the original source whilst resizing the GBPVR window, or alternatively just have black borders around a correctly proportioned source.

Cheers,

James

No Audio on Live TV (Hauppauge PVR-USB2)
Posted by: jamesth - 2005-04-10, 12:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Hello everyone,

I'm getting no audio on Live TV; on recordings it is fine. It hasn't ever worked since install.

I've tried with the Audio Renderer set to System Default, SB Audigy 4 Audio, Default Directsound Device, Default WaveOut Device, and Directsound: SB Audigy 4 Audio. I haven't changed any other settings on the playback page.

The audio works fine in the original WinTV software.

I'm using:
Windows XP SP2
Hauppauge PVR-USB2 (using composite input)
SB Audigy 4 Pro

There is also an NForce audio controller built into the motherboard, but it is disabled in Device Manager.

I've tried turning up the volume as much as possible, but there is nothing there at all.

I've tried changing channel using the TV Guide (hinted by the sticky thread), but that doesn't help either.

This section of the GBPVR.exe-native.log looks relevant to an untrained observer:

  EPG update issue
Posted by: arbatax - 2005-04-10, 11:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi, I am using version 09111, but I have experienced this problem throughout all the latest releases.

Although my XML EPG file is fine, GBPVR will not automatically update the EPG at the planned time. I am aware of the issue regarding the use of the arrows for setting up the EPG update time in the config app, but this does not seem to be the case here, since the PC correctly wakes up at the planned time.

The only workaround I have found so far is to quit GBPVR, open the config app, click on Update EPG and then launch GBPVR again. Adding the -OnlyUpdateEPG action through a button does not work, because GBPVR _has_ to be quit and re-opened for the update to happen.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  Channel Listings
Posted by: chris - 2005-04-10, 11:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am in the uk and have set gb-pvr to just get a channel (ITV channel 59)
I have set it to only have this channel and am using bleb to get the prog listings.
When I use 'TV guide' there is nothing on the display.
When I use ' Search Guide';'A'-'Z' there are programs displayed.
Any clues as to wether I can use another provider of the listings - and then how to implement them...
In particular I am wathing (now 12:00) a prog that is called (by the presenter and the set) 'The Sunday Supplement' and it is not listed under 'T' or 'S' which seems to be the obvious ones (I do realise that it's not sub's program here but you may know an alternative program lister that will produce entries in both screens)

  interesting text-behaviour...
Posted by: dottore - 2005-04-10, 09:31 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

i noticed, that every text rendered by gb-pvr (if done by plugin-helper) has a sort of black border:

look at attachment, espacially the "FastFind" - Text.

i think, sub renders the text twice, a black version and then a version in the specified colour above. thats not really good for light skins....could that be changed?

maybe i am wrong and the behaviour comes from .net or something like that...

just a thing that could make gbpvr look even better ;-) light skins are rare....

  WinTV Nova-T PCI 90002
Posted by: csm888 - 2005-04-10, 08:10 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

After a (very very) lot of messing around here is how I managed to get a WinTV Nova-T PCI 90002 recording properly with GB-PVR. (Thanks to a guest poster in another thread for some of this)

If you are having record problems with a USB2 version, you could try also try this (I havent tested it) but I had a USB2 version before, and it was showing the same problems.

I uninstalled all the hauppage stuff using hwclear

Then I removed any stuff that looked like it was left over from previous installations that I didnt want (showshifter, intervideo, cyberlink, pinnacle etc etc) and then I uninstalled any DirectShow Filters using filmerit
http://paul.glagla.free.fr/index_en.htm remember to disable readonly - in the help section???- so you can delete things.
Make sure you removed anything that looks like
Intervideo NonCSS for Hauppauge

Then I fresh installed the WinTV drivers from hcw13nova-t from hauupage
Then I installed the WinTV applications (using setup.exe) but unticked the
Install MPEG SW Decoders these are the drivers that I think are causing the problems

put the file mpgmux.ax which you can get from
http://www.gocyberlink.com/multi/download/download.jsp
into the windows directory and from a command line use
cd c:\windows
regsvr32 mpgmux.ax

I am using version 5.0.0.727 of the mpgmux.ax file, version 4 seemed to cause minor stuttering problems for me

With all this done, I managed to record and watch tv perfectly.

  Delete Confirmation Dialog
Posted by: DZPVR - 2005-04-10, 05:29 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Any chance of getting a delete confirmation dialog prior to files being gone forever when reviewing them in the ready list? Not a huge deal, but it seems like it could save some grief.

The same might be nice on the cancel option when reviewing pending or reoccuring items. My mind keeps telling me cancel means the dialog will go away and everything will stay the same so I keep hitting the button when I didn't really mean to.

Just some thoughts. It might be easier for me to reprogram my mind if no one else runs into issues with these.

Thanks.

  PVR-350 still freezes during playback
Posted by: jarodl - 2005-04-10, 02:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have installed the latest Hauppauge Drivers (22301) after removing the old ones. I am currently running 0.90.10 of GB-PVR (after uninstalling an older version). I have a Pentium IV 2.8 GHz with 512 Mb RAM and an Hauppauge PVR-350.

During playback of recordings, GB-PVR still freezes very often. It always causes anything that is currently recording to fail. I always have to restart the recording service. It is almost always after pressing the skip or replay buttons that it freezes. I have read some posts that it is related to the OSD. I have tried checking the box "Minimal OSD during playback" in the config utility, but it didn't seem to fix anything. I have also heard that changing slots in the PC could help. I haven't tried that one yet. Has anyone come across a good solution yet?

Thanks,

jarodl

Return to current position in recording list after deletion
Posted by: jarodl - 2005-04-10, 02:45 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

This may have been suggested before, but I couldn't see it. I would like it if the "cursor" returned to the same position in the recording list after deleting a recording. I record two episodes of Malcolm in the Middle each day, and most of them are reruns. Usually, they are near the bottom of the recording list (or middle), and I have to delete 3 or 4. Every time I delete one, I have to scroll through the entire list to delete the next one. It would be nice to stay at the same position in the list after deleting an episode.

Thanks.

Guide2J & TVGuide Errors (but CDK OK)
Posted by: CaptainVideo - 2005-04-10, 02:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Right now I can only schedule using XRecording's advanced scheduler with CDKScheduler and priorityrecordings. It works really well, but it isn't good for those snap decisions where you see something you HAVE to record.

In TVGuide I always get this error when I try to add or delete a scheduled recording: "No connection could be made because the target machie actively refused it"

In Guide2J I now always get the error: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refulsed it".

Restarting doesn't help.

Anyone know how these two errors may be related? What log do I need to look at? I don't see any errors on the most recently updated ones: rectracker.log, rectracker.exe.log, archive.log, gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log,

Thanks for your help!
