Haven't installed the latest update yet, but wanted to find out before doing so if all the problems in the past releases have been fixed, and are now working as expected.

Mainly, I'm interested in being able to record either in MPEG or DIVX modes. Right now I have to choose one or the other because the NativeUtilites patch that was released fixed Divx support, but broke MPEG support (this was in .90).

Hitek any comments on this? I know you were doing some testing with Sub in regards to the Walker devices.

Let's say I would like to record any episode of "Whose Line..." where the description contains "Richard Simmons", would this do it?

In CDK it shows as all episodes of whose line.

I am a newbie to GB-PVR. I've been "futzing" with MediaPortal for several months now and my level of frustration was finally breeched last weekend. So I downloaded GB-PVR and installed it and after minimal fiddling, lo and behold it came up.

I like GB's onscreen guide and display better than MP although I prefer MP's two level menu structure where you can assign less-frequently-used functions to a secondary "Programs" menu.

But GB switches channels much, much faster than MP.

Getting channels configured in GB is a snap, in MP it is a royal pain-in-the-backside.

And I really like the fact that in GB to go to channel 135 (satellite) you enter "1-3-5". Clever, eh? In MP you have to know that channel 135 is the 58th item in the database so you enter "5-8" to get there!

Anyway, I was really enthused about GB until I came across two problems:

1. Hitting "ESC" to go to the previous function. If I hit it from the main menu GB exits!
2. GB is running along in TV mode and for no apparent reason it simply exits.

Can someone provide some guidance here? I can't believe that either of these is the expected behavior.

Does anyone have experience with non-graphical plugins? Is it possible to have a plugin that has no button in the menus, but is also not an InfoPanel?

I tried the InfoPanel interface, but I have a problem in that the destructor is never called when GBPVR is supposed to exit.

Hello All-

A simple question, I hope.

I've set up the PC with the required hardware (PVR-350) and software. I downloaded the EPG lists, and set up items to record.

My question is, when I want to set up and record, and other issues, do I need to have the PC with a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, or can I do most of the work through the IR remote and TV?

Moving time indicator on the guide. Would be really cool to have a line with time displayed above it.

Double row of buttons on the main menu instead of scrolling. Or, less main buttons, maybe like topic buttons that open menus for those topics. One for all tv functions, one for addons, one for music. etc.

I have installed the newest my video's but I can't see any of the directories. I have all my movies in seperate directories and my video shows I have 4 pages with 41 movies but I can't see the names. I have my database pointed at mydatabase.mdb which I download from the wiki. Do I need to set anything else up to have it list the movies?

In another thread, I described a problem with using the weather and shutdown plug-in when starting gbpvr.exe from a command script. Nobody could help me, but now I found out what caused the problem. (And that explains too why I was alone with my problem)

When I start gbpvr.exe with the option "-UpdateEPG", (which I did from the command scipt) my shutdown and weather plug-ins didn't work. But if I use the "-OnlyUpdateEPG" parameter and then start the program once again without parameters. All plug-ins seems to work fine.

Isn't that strange ..?

(but hey - I have found the solution to my problem)
