I am probably missing something obvious but not yet sure what it is.
I can run gb-pvr on my PC and it all works great.
Most of the MVP functions work good too.
The one exception is live tv and recordings - I think I see the smilarity in these two. Again they work on my PC fine - so I can record and playback, watch live TV. I cannot get any of this functionality on my TV - the screen goes blank for 2 seconds and then returns to the menu. This is the case with recordings made on the PC using the gb-pvr software
Can anybody help?
On the plus side of things I think this is one of the most exciting pieces of software around - binging PC's and TV's together is the future (along with communications such as VOIP as well - there's a plug-in for somebody...)
The main features are:
* Support for RSS version 0.91, 1.0 and 2.0
* Support for image feeds (e.g. the Dilbert Comic feed)
* Images can be enlarged
* Easy navigation between the items in a feed
* Feeds can be configured from within the Config application
* One feed can be shown as a 'Ticker' on the main menu
* Screen layout can be completely changed in the skins.
* All HTML formatting is stripped from the feed.
Change history:
* Complete rewrite of the fetching/processing of the RSS feed
* Removed filters, use automatic character translation instead
* List of feeds in program is in same order as in newsfeeds.xml
* Support for 'image-feeds' (such as the Daily comics)
* Extended support for Arrows (and other navigation keys).
* Better use of skins (I hope)
* Zoom-function for images (like in the Comics2 plugin)
* Configuration-dialog for config application
* Panel interface, so it acts like a Ticker'
* Automatic reload of a complete feed
I get the following error when trying to start live tv
"Object Reference not set to an instance of an object"
What do I do to make this work?
Im sure its simple but Im just a baby at this!!
However, one issue: When the computer is waken from standby by recording services the screen remains black. I find it rather annoying to have to wait until recording is stopped before being able to watch anything...
Im using a PVR 250 and Nvidia Mx 440 graphics card. Normally the graphics card is only connected to my TV, but i have tried with a monitor as well. I can see the M/B post messages when recording is starting, then nothing.
I'm new to GB-PVR. I have a 150mce installed. I can get the channels tunned with the tunning assistant and I can get the guide. When I try to use the mvp I get an error that the target machine actively refused it. What could I be doing wrong?
we need a gbpvr news feed, so updates etc can be displayed to most users on the main menu. there needs to be an easy way for this information to be updated and for old information to be removed.
requirements
- a form to easily enter the update info eg "My Videos: Major update, lots of bug fixes." (one line of info since its for a ticker).
- a expiry date for info (eg plugins updates expire after 3 days, gbpvr expires after a week).
- only registered users can update this xml file.
- someone needs to maintain this, not just gbpvr, but htpc news in general (it would get dull if it just keeps saying "my videos updated! again!".
- we need someone to host it, im not sure if this will work on the wiki, although it would be better so you dont need to register a new user again.
so anyone know how to do this, all via webforms? can anyone host this? anyone want to maintain this?
i found this over at htpcnews.com (well it was on their front page, so i didnt have to do much to find it ). ok for those who want to tweak 150/250/350/500 check this out http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/pvr_tweak.html
I've noticed a small border around my capture area when not in window mode. Is that normal? I think it is only top and right, not home to check, and it is a thin white line.
Also
How do I solve this? I have a wide screen. If I set my resolution up to fill it so that I can watch wide screen dvd, then it stretches my non widescreen tv. If I set my res so that it is like a normal tv, then my dvd is not full screen.
I know this gets asked a lot but I have a pvr 250 and would like to add a second tuner... the 250 is for recodring off sky and the second card would be for recording off atennna. Is there a difference between the mce versions and normal as in the documentation is says the 500 is not totally supported... does the 150 come with an ir blaster if it did then I would have to use the 150 for sky and the 250 for antenna and forgo the extra tunner...
Are all these cards compatabile with each other
Any Advice Please .....
