  Can't reduce GBPVR Size!
Posted by: Satnav4 - 2005-03-19, 12:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

When I open gbpvr, it fills the screen. When I hit the reduce button at the top right, I get the double box, but the screen does not reduce. Is anyone else having this problem?

  Movie trailer Plugin
Posted by: raptoger - 2005-03-19, 12:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I dont know you but I love movie trailers, sometimes more than the movie itself. Having said that, would it be possible to create a plugin that could download trailers for coming movies? I wish I knew how to code for something like that. I better leave it to those here who have done all those cool plugins we use today.

  Loss of Recordings
Posted by: cpenney - 2005-03-18, 11:44 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Most of what I use GBPVR for is recording tv programs. My kids have a little archive of cartoons and my wife records a lot of shows. The Recordings interface is pretty decent, but rather trivial things can totally disable it forcing you to use the extremely crude video file interface (no more recorded time, description, etc.).

A method of periodic backup w/ restore to an xml file would be reall nice as a minimalist.

A better feature would be an improved video file browser. I'm not sure if that's possible with an MVP or not (that's what I use). The current inferface is pretty minimal.

Great software at any rate,

Chris

  New XRecord v20
Posted by: jorm - 2005-03-18, 09:25 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (23)

As always available on wiki.

v20 2005-3-18
* Skinnable xrecord
* fixed bug press up key in search criteria in basic and more, the selection goes to power not to exit
* The more button has channel, start time/end time, day of week – were removed
* fixed bug Quality is created in the priority recording file, even if I did not set any
* fixed bug You can set the exact same parameters in the priority recording file
* The following fields should have Not specified field (prepadd, post padd, adjust time start, adjust time > end, quality)
* Need to add Adjust Time start, Adjust Time End, Record Duplicates in the more button
* When you edit a recording with no channel specified, the recording type is “this channel” (it should be > all)
* When you are in "change priority" mode (ctrl-y) enter opens up the popup to edit the recording. Enter, in > this case, should remove you from change priority mode.
* delete icon function screen
* function menu changed from no-name button to stop (or was it pause)
* export group in function menu
* able to set items to show in configure. Thanks to Ron22. It will crash configure if there is already stuff there
so if you want to use it delete the xrecordplugins configuration from config.xml first. I will try to fix this in the next release.
* big thanks to reven and jrock for testing and feature requests.

  MVP and AVIs
Posted by: 40days - 2005-03-18, 08:12 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (166)

Maybe there's something I'm doing wrong. I've upgraded to v.91, and I'm really excited that it will play DivX movies, etc. I've encoded a couple of movies to DivX (well, actually Xvid), but when I go to play them over the MVP, instead of the movie being in the middle of the screen (i.e. a letterbox movie on a 4:3 TV) where they should be, they display at the very top, with one very large black bar at the bottom of the screen. When I originally encoded the movies from DVD to MPEG2 I used DVDx and had it letterbox them (i.e. they are all 640x480 now) so they would display correctly since most of them are 16:9 anamorphic. If I use the Hauppauge software with the MVP, they display correctly. They display correctly on my computer as well. They just don't display correctly when I use them with GBPVR. Any explanations? I know that this is the first version that can handle AVIs and I expect there to be issues, but I just want to know if there is any way around them. By the way, I've also installed FFDShow (although I'm not sure if that plays into Sub's use of Hauppauge files for on-the-fly transcoding or not). Also, the same thing happens to movies that I've encoded to DivX directly from VOB files, but not to normal AVIs (i.e. not DivX of Xvid encoded AVIs). Thanks for your help.

  Offtopic, but still relevant

Hi guys

I have a "funny" little problem here.

My computer freezes everytime I play back a MPG2 file, but only AFTER it has awoken from hibernate. This happens also if I start windows2000.

If I restart windows all is fine again.

Does anyone have an idea to what screws up after a hibernate ?

Thanks

Starting GBPVR from inside command script
Posted by: Splyf - 2005-03-18, 07:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

If I start GBPVR for anywere else than inside an command script the plugins works fine. The problem is that I have a command script named StartGBPVR.cmd witch downloads a new XMLTV file and then starts gbpvr.exe -UpdateEPG at system startup (HKLM\.....\Run)

The shutdown and weather plugin does not work when the program is started from inside that command scirpt (batchfile).

What is the difference between starting gbpvr.exe from inside a command script, and just starting it from the command line ?

  MPG2 codecs
Posted by: wrecked - 2005-03-18, 07:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi again

Could one of you guys please check what codec you are using in config for MPG2 playback.

I think I have more codecs in there than just the ones that came with hauppauge and wintv2000 are using.

In fact I would like to know what excacly codecs wintv2000 are using. Anyone know that ?

Thanks!

  dvb - Manually entering channels?
Posted by: snakeman65 - 2005-03-18, 06:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

My blackgold dvb card is unable to tune channels properly in gb-pvr [Image: sad.gif]. However, I am able to see the preview of the channels while it scans. I was wondering if someone can let me know what format the tuning_request section should be as I can easily look up all of the tuning information and enter it manually in the mdb. I have tried the mux frequency, the mux channel, the whole mux line from the .ini and none of them let it tune.

If someone could even just send me a screenshot of their tuner setup screen with the channels on it would be much much appreciated.

  Files being deleted
Posted by: joshftx - 2005-03-18, 05:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Since upgrading to the newest version, SOMETIMES when I am watching a recording, and I hit the stop button on my MVP remote, the video will stop and return me to the menu as usual. However, when I go back and look at the directory where the video I was just watching was located, it is GONE- deleted. Any ideas what's happening? You can imagine how frustrating this can be.
