Can anyone help me please? I have no sound on the Theatrix, on any channel. This card has the ATI Theatre 550 pro chip in it. I did get sound before, with the crappy cyberlink software but have been unable to get sound with either GB-PVR (which I just discovered today) or the intervideo WinDVR demo.
Just bought Sony DAV-SC6, its remote is able to control various manufacturers VCRs and TVs (also my Philips TV). Why won't GBPVR have support for WinLIRC, so I could use any remote with it and predefine my custom buttons to GBPVR tasks.
I can't understand the GBPVR's scheduled recording service as if my computer goes due to long idle period into standby or hibernation, GBPVR could wake it to start its jobs. When I force computer into Standby or hibernation (via Logoff menu or rundll32), GBPVR couldn't wake it, why?
Won't work! As I enter to timeshift mode, it just blanks the screen, sound keeps coming. The recording file will have correct audio and video, so actually recording is working. When trying to exit this blank screen with BACK or MENU, it won't work, also Taskmanager shows that GBPVR isn't responding and suggests end task. After killing task, recording service will continue to record this "Live TV". Restarting GBPVR won't open Live TV nor it doesn't start to record any new scheduled recordings, as source is still being in use. Only manual restart to service fixes this.
In versions .23 and 0.90 and 0.91, when using direct hauppauge remote support, VOLUP button does actually VOLDOWN, so there will be no difference which I press, result is the same - vol_down. Although Left and Right works ok (to decrease and increase volume). Also there is nothing wrong with remote itself, as Hauppauge irremote with Notepad DEBUG.TXT gives the correct control codes of buttons. So, there must be a little bug inside the GBPVR code.
I've downloaded a documentation file of the CommonGBPVRUtilities library on the Wiki site. It looks like this library contains some useful classes. I've managed to find the actual CommonGBPVRUtilities.DLL in the VideoLibrary plugin and I'm thinking of using it in my Plugin development.
However I doe have some questions on it's usage:
* is it actually meant to be a shared resource?
* how is it to be distributed? If it is is shared by many plugins it might be a part of the basic GBPVR distribution, in the mean time a seperate listing on the Wiki site might be useful.
* is it officially maintained, i.e. who is responsible for bug fixes (if needed) and enhancements?
If it is supposed to be a true shared resource (which I'm hoping for) it would be nice to have the sources somewhere in a CVS and to have the binary DLL in the official GBPVR distribution.
I have Northwood Celeron 2,4GHz (to reduce less heat and noise) inside my PVR, so there is not much CPU power left during playbacks. When using FFWD it doesn't achieve more than approx x2 (but in 0.91 should have x2, x4, x8?). So, with x2 the playback is still smooth, but CPU can't handle x4. So, my suggestion to sub that if it detects less CPU power than needed for smooth ffwd, just use frame skipping multiples.
If watching Live TV and exiting using BACK/EXIT, it closes the whole GBPVR and drops me to explorer. If exiting using MENU, it closes Live TV and goes correctly back to the main menu.
It would be nice if future releases also includes Estonia in country selection. All settings are the same as Finland, except the country code (Est - 372).
In Search Guide there is no option to see shows which begin with non en_US characters. For example we use in Estonia some kind of mixed alphabet from with national language letters: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSŠŽTUVWXYZÃÃÃÃ. It would be extremely nice if next realase of GBPVR would recognize if there are some shows in guide which doesn't begin with regular latin letter, it lists also these shows. For example I can't find Estonian local popular talk-show "Ãrapanija" from nowhere inside guide search. Although in guide browse there it lists. I guess there is the same issue with sweds, finns, etc.
