  Improvement for the play button
Posted by: MaBo - 2005-03-14, 12:00 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

It would be nice to start playing a file directly from the list view in recordings or my videos by pressing play instead of having to hit OK twice!

Another related wish is: when using group view, and there is only one file available in the group, pressing play on the group would directly start playing.

Another, already long time ago mentioned wish is consistency between the play and pause behaviour between video playback and music playback. I would prefere that in both cases:
play: starts or resumes playing a file
pause: toggles between play and pause (when the file is already playing)

Greetz,
MaBo

  rss newsreader wish
Posted by: reven - 2005-03-14, 10:14 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

since jasonf has created a horizontal scrolling textbox, which is perfect for a ticker, it would be cool if the newsreader added a panel, or a seperate panel was made, that displayed news from selected sites, continously scrolling across the main menu screen.

this of course would be extremely useful when the autoupdate plugin is created, or just to display general news about gbpvr, eg plugin updates, new version, etc.

  tv guide not complete?
Posted by: rgc1265 - 2005-03-14, 02:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

tv guide works for some channels for Comcast NJ, but not all, specifically - the guides for most of the premium channels (HBO, SHO, MAX) etc do not show up. I just downloaded and installed GBPVR this morning...should I re-install?

Posted by: jupiterace - 2005-03-14, 12:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Just trying to create sub menus in the plugins tab, it creates a default new menu as the name, but I cannot change it. Have scoured the net and posts but cannot find any details on it.

WinTV PVR150 no sound when in mono mode
Posted by: LoneWolf - 2005-03-13, 11:58 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi guys,

Just got my Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150, and starting to evaluate PVR software solutions. Before I get too deep though, I've found that some stations are getting audio and some aren't, regardless of the application I use (I've tried the included WinTV 2000, GBPVR, and TVedia). I have Comcast cable, and for example TBS on channel 2 will get audio, but TNT on channel 33 won't. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is, and what I can do about it?

EDIT: I have just found out that it only seems to happen when playing back in Mono; Stereo channels come in fine. Odd, since TNT ought to be stereo as well as a few other cable channels, but any time a channel is reported as Stereo, audio works; any time a channel comes in in Mono, no sound.

Cannot exit GBPVR using Sigma Designs XCard
Posted by: LoneWolf - 2005-03-13, 11:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi all,

Right now I'm testing GBPVR alongside a few other apps so I don't have my HTPC hooked up through my television yet. I have a WinTV PVR 150 and a Sigma Designs XCard. If I use the XCard for decoding and then set it to use my VGA monitor, it works fine until I attempt to exit the frontend of GBPVR, whereupon I get a black screen and never end up back at the desktop. I do not have this problem with the one other program I know that uses the XCard, TVedia. Does anyone know of a solution? So far, I like GBPVR better, but I'd like to use my XCard as this is a budget PC and it can use every bit of help it can get.

TIP: ffdshow can auto-load different settings
Posted by: capone - 2005-03-13, 10:37 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I had avoiding using ffdshow for TV, only becuase I have mpg files that I watch letterbox, and it was treating TV the same way and not doing 1.33.

Just the other day I stubled onto the autoload conditions in the Image Settings menu. There may be a better way, but I made a set of settings called 1-tv (1 so it was ahead of the movie settings...I'll explain). In there I set it to run when the file had a size of 740x480. Since the size live tv image size is unique, it only effects tv.

The reason I set named it 1-tv is because I had settings to resize movies (mpg, avi, and ogm). When it was just movies and tv, it seemed ffdshow ran the filters on a first-come basis in alpha order, so it ran movies 1st (on detecting mpg).

This is not adivce for all, but I hope it's a help to the few that have tried using ffdshow, and ran into issues w/ multiple file types.
