  ? on Clock element
Posted by: Torque - 2005-03-14, 05:19 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

I'd like to use the clock element (the same one that is used in TV Guide skin) in a couple other skins... most importantly, the live guide. If I bring up the live guide, there is no clock so if you don't know what time it is, you don't know where you're at in the guide.

  Choosing a capture card
Posted by: Tulex - 2005-03-14, 04:40 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Is hardware decoding on capture cards only for using the card for tv out? Also, is anyone running both an analog and a hdtv card at the same time? I finally got the stuff to put my rig together, just need to get the right capture card now.

Sorry about the color text earlier.

Menu capability - Smooth Scrolling, transitions...
Posted by: BenTO - 2005-03-14, 04:27 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

Just a wishlist for the interface that should go way behind the functionality upgrades...

- smooth scrolling menu options so you can see if you are scrolling up or down in those skins that fix the selection on the screen and move the menu items up and down.

- video-type transitions like fade or zoom or page turn between the main menu and sub-menus.

- ability to rename a plug-in on the menu (e.g. change the xrecord name to "my recordings&quotWink

Thanks,
Ben

  Xrecordings
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-03-14, 03:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I don't know if it's x-record or cdkScheduler. I have the latest updates i downloaded. When I try to add or delete things on that list, i get this error:

An unhandled exception has occured in your applicaiton. If you click continue...

And then the Details include:

SystemNullReference Exception: OBject reference not set to an instance...

This program has so much great potential, but it's had bugs since I can remember.

Also, the new priority recordings (with like seven sample shows) is great EXCEPT, i would love some examples on how to do searches for actor or description names. They are all currently program names (Days of Our Lives, Apprentice, Nick and Jessica), but what if you included an example of "Edward Norton" or something like that.

I hope one day this program becomes easy to use, understand and bug free!

  Matrox Dualhead DVDMax and GBPVR?
Posted by: Paul - 2005-03-14, 03:10 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Hi,

I'm new to GBPVR and before buying some Hauppage PVR card I decided to try my Matrox G400 Dualhead, which has very decent DVDMax TV output.

Should this card work with GBPVR?

I do not succeed in getting the OSD on the DVDMax TV output. I do see the OSD on my main display, and when I for example selected 'DVD', the movie starts playing through the DVDMax TV output.

Is it possible to get the GBPVR OSD also through the DVDMax output?

Reading the forum gave me the impression it should be possble, but how?

Regards,

Paul.

  MVP Expectations
Posted by: brownrobm - 2005-03-14, 02:50 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (11)

I've had my GB-PVR set-up now for about two weeks and am loving it.

I need some information about the MVP. What should I expect when viewing TV on the MVP? When I change the channel on my MVP, it takes a wife-maddening 3 to 5 seconds to move to the next channel. On the PC, it takes milliseconds. Is this normal?

I have applied the registry updates to the Computer's NIC card (from Hauppauge) and have played with GB-PVR's config settings, but haven't been able to make the response time quicker. The CPU utilization is minimal when doing almost anything on the MVP. Also have downloaded the latest beta software from Hauppauge for the MVP.

Also, whenever the MVP loses power (power outage), I have to shut down GB-PVR and restart the original MVP processes to get the MVP to connect and boot. After it boots the first time, I can shut down the Hauppauge software and restart the GB-PVR software and it works. Is this normal?

Thanks for the help!!

Here's what I have (if it matters):
AMD 1Ghz
256 RAM
PVR-150
MVP D1 revision.

Possible setup-- will this work OK?
Posted by: meekor - 2005-03-14, 02:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

OK I don't know if this will work, I am currently without digitalTV + am thinking of getting FreeSAT  http://www.freesatfromsky.com/ I have a spare PC...attaching to a 19"TFT i.e. Acer ACER AL1914ms (12ms) http://www.acer.co.uk/acereur....7401791 if I used a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 and a USBUIRT would this allow me to pause TV on Sky, schedule recordings to disk + change channels with a mouse etc.? Another alternative is to install the WinTV on my main PC upstairs and transmit the Sky signal upstairs, can anyone recommend a transmitter that will do this(and communicate with the USBUIRT)?

Thanks [Image: smile.gif]

  Black & white picture problems
Posted by: spike - 2005-03-14, 01:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Have just built my first HTPC and am an utter newbie and have a problem with black & white channels.
I have ancient telewest cable via an old Jerrold 550 STB, HTPC spec is Aopen EZ65, 2.66 P4, 256mb ram,Hauppauge 150pvr mce, FX5200 graphics card and 17Gb drive (drive and ram are temporary fitments while i get it all to work), Windows XP and GBPVR. Graphics card is connected by s-video to TV scart socket by s-video to scart lead. Have already checked that it is to the scart socket on the TV that will accept s-video.

Problem is that on the HTPC regular TV channels BBC1, BBC2, ITV, CH4 and CH5 are all black and white, but occasionally show some colour when scrolling through the channels but it doesn't last long. The cable channel (No. 92) works fine though... all colour and reasonable if not fantastic picture.

As I have only one tuner card I have split the signal to the PVR150 and to the TV tuner via a 2 way splitter so I could watch another channel while recording. The picture from the TV's tuner is fine on all channels but the picture through the PVR150 has the B & W problems apart from the cable channel as previously mentioned. I have tried with the signal not split and run straight to the PVR150 but it makes no difference and have also tried a mains plug-in signal splitter/booster but that makes no difference either.
To my non technical eye it looks almost like the tuning is off, but I can find no way of manually adjusting the tuning.

Am sure the card is all ok though as if I hook it up to a terrestrial aerial and re scan the channels I can get all the basic 5 tuned OK, Picture isn't great on some as the aerial is in the loft, but it does work.

Anyone have or had similar problems or know of a fix?
I'm sure it must be something simple it's just that I'm too daft to see it... right!

  DVD plays only on PC
Posted by: wombatman - 2005-03-14, 01:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Just received my MVP and have been playing with the GB-PVR software for a very short time and t's looking great [Image: biggrin.gif].

I do have one problem on playing DVD's from my HD.  It seems to work when I try it out on my PC, but when I try to play them on my TV via the MediaMVP, it still plays on my PC. [Image: rock.gif]

Everything else works via the TV just fine.  It must be some obvious error on my part, but I can seem to find any other post on the subject.

Anyone have a suggestion?
