  adjust menu/osd xpos,ypos,width,height
Posted by: reven - 2005-03-13, 03:38 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

it would be really nice if you could adjust the menu/osd xpos, ypos, width and height, independent of the video position. so if you are using a tv out card, and put gbpvr into full screen mode, and there is overscan you could adjust it so it better fits your tv, and where the image isnt draw (ie if you set xpos to 20, 0-20 would just be black (so theres no colours that might burn into your tv)). this would be really nice with the upcoming settings plugin, so we could easily adjust this on the fly. (xbmc does this the best, media portal does this pretty good too).

i think its possible since all the plugins render method return an image, and not directly draw to the frame, and since this is possible with the 350/mvp/xcard

Support other hardware decoders and other filters
Posted by: hitek146 - 2005-03-13, 01:56 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Sub, I've been wondering recently if it might someday in the future be possible for us to "plug-in" our own filters by specifiying them in a config file or something, similar to the way they are specified for the BDA digital cards? There are tons of cheap MPEG2 hardware decoders out there(many of them in the Cardbus form factor for laptops), audio codecs(especially MP3), and other effects filters. I've seen other programs allow optional filters, and they allow configuration of the filter by simply opening the filter's own properties dialog for the user to configure. I'm sure you're familiar with the idea.... What's your take on this? Is it something that is even possible to do?

  Stradis Decoder Card
Posted by: flumpdumpy - 2005-03-12, 10:12 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I recently got a used Stradis SDM275 professional mpeg-2 decoder card on the cheap. I've managed to get it working in WinXP with Media Player but would like to use it for the output in GBPVR (obviously). It really doesn't matter if I get the menus to work as I can switch to a different input on the TV to switch back and forth between my video card and stradis decoder.
The problem seems to be that windows does not recognize it as a mpeg-2 decoder, so I can't set it as the default mpeg decoder. Also, when I open a mpeg-2 file in graphedit, there are only 2 filters, the file source filter and a Stradis Mpeg decoder filter. It looks as though the decoder combines the demultiplexer, decoder and renderer into one filter.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get this working with GBPVR, or barring that, have any suggestions on software that will work with it? I've done quite alot of googling on this and the only thing I can find that might work is MythTV.

  Everything works but Live TV
Posted by: davidlevin - 2005-03-12, 08:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am using an Hauppauge WinTV-PVR USB2 and I loaded and installed everything by following the quick start to the letter. And everything works great, except that when I try to start Live TV I get the following error:

Error: Unable to load DLL (hcwIRblast.dll)

I also have a couple of other programs loaded on my system because I am trying to decide which one I prefer, but I make sure everything is closed on one before opening another.

I have tried Restarting IR or leaving it off.

Is my problem in my configuration?

By the way, when GBPVR is open, the remote does work in terms of navigating the menus and such.

It is only when I select Live TV that I get the error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Problem with 3 tuners
Posted by: PeterM - 2005-03-12, 07:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

I have been running with a PVR-350 and a PVR-250 for some time. Both tuners work fine. Now I have installed a PVR-150 in addition, and this does not work. I have the PVR-350 as device 1, PVR-250 as device 2 and the PVR-150 as device 3.

I don't get any signal from the first 2 devices (black screen), but if I open 3 video streams, the last device (3) works. If I delete the PVR-150 as a source in config.exe, then I have the same problem: device 1 shows black screen, device 2 is fine.

Any ideas?

  EPG is not loaded
Posted by: jasjol - 2005-03-12, 06:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I just realized that I only had EPG data in GBPVR for 2 days - but I always fetch 14 days in XMLTV everyday.
My XMLTV file was ok and after I did a manual update in config it is all fine.

My questions -
1)is there a way the get informed that the EPG update did not work?

2) can it be done by using "onlyupdateEPG" in some batch file - and running that command would give back ok or Not ok?

Posted by: stevepr - 2005-03-12, 05:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi
First I would like say GBPVR rocks. I got my PVR card yesterday and installed this bad boy and its great.

I hope this is not a repost I have been ussing the search button but could not find anything like this.

One problem
Today I installed a couple of plugins and utilities. To be more specific
Xrecord
Video archiver
comskip
cdk scheduler
findfast

I havent even had a chance to see if these plugins work because I went into my guide and its 2 hours ahead of schedule. I am preaty sure it wasent like this yesterday.
My PC time and time zone are set correctly. I dont know what else to look for.
I am ussing zap2it. For my listings.

Any suggestions from the pros?

Thnx in advance

  Hauppauge Nova-t USB2
Posted by: Chris.Day - 2005-03-12, 01:33 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Hi,
I noticed that the Hauppauge Nova-t 90002 is supported but the Nova-t USB2 isn't. The USB2 version comes with BDA drivers but it is a little different from the 90002. It doesn't use "source filter", only a "capture filter". A filtergraph for this device looks like this:

Any questions feel free to ask.
