Hi gbPVR users,

I'm planning to buy an "Aopen i855GMEm-LES" mainboard together with a "Celeron-M 1.5GHz" in order to

use gbPVR (I hope this system will be cool and quiet as I want to place it next to my TV set ;-)

Is anybody out there using these components and could tell me about his experiences please:

1: Does the "hibernate -> wake-up for recording -> record -> hibernate again"-thing work on them?

Will this board really wake up from hibernate at the time gbPVR writes to BIOS? (the mainboard documentation only says about "suspend-to-RAM"-Mode which is not what I mean)

2: Is the CPU powerful enough (I going to use a Hauppauge PVR 150 for encoding and a Xcard for

decoding)?

3: Will I need to buy a "special" power supply to ensure proper hibernation mode? I've heard that

BIOS must be power-supplied to enable wake-up ... is BIOS automatically supplied by all power

supplies?

I am new to the GBPVR scene, and I seem to have everything working alright.....except that I'm dissappointed that the GBPVR/H350 setup will not play my flac or shn or other high quality music files. Is playing them something that an expert among you has figured out, and I just have missed it.....or is this not a possibility and/or will never be a possibility?

I don't really want to convert all my flac etc. files down to MP3s and I'm certainly not of the calibre of user to create a plugin....just noodling along setting up my media center.

Maybe there is someway to have GBPVR access winamp or dbpower amp to play back music files.

Has anyone found which MPEG decoder has the lowest CPU requirements? Or, how about some tips to decrease overall CPU usage. My machine's a little light on the CPU at 800 MHz and 512MB RAM.

I did a clean install today of XP Pro SP2. To that, I installed the nVidia drivers for my card (GeForce FX 5200 with 128MB--almost more processing than the computer itself! and the nVidia DVD player software. I also have my SBLive drivers installed, PVR150MCE drivers, FFDShow, and of course, GBPVR.

After the install, most if not all of the LiveTV problems that I had were cured (I had lots of stuttering). However, MPEG playback through GBPVR is still dropping frames and the CPU is pegged at 98-100% during playback.

If I turn off FFDShow processing, it's a little better, but LiveTV looks like crap (interlacing).

Any suggestions?

The following are my log errors? Any thoughts I'm running the latest drivers, XP SP1, DotNet1.1 no SP1. It only happens on many of the high channels (200, 202 etc).

Any help is much appreciated! Low channels are great (2, 7, etc)

I just scored this little beauty to control all of my goods including my MVP with GBPVR... and I have to tell you... I'm in remote heaven... 1 Remote for all my goods... Albeit it's a bit pricey at $150 at bestbuy... but i scored a whole lotta points with the little lady and it's one cool piece of gadgetry for moi.

I have issues with the CyberLink mpgmux.ax crashing on back-to-back recordings so I changed to the ivimux.ax.

What was being recorded seemed fine but it would only record about 10 minutes (usually 9mins 58secs). Odd!!!

Anybody else seen this?

I wasn't sure where to put this question so it ended up here.

I think this would have to be a plugin rather than just a new skin but I'd like a TV Guide where each screen showed one channel and the programmes were listed from top to bottom. I had a demo of ShowShifter which allowed you to select which view you wanted. Does this exist for GB-PVR?

The current TV Guide (horizontal time-line) is handy if you know what you are looking for but I often miss interesting programmes because they have long-ish titles that get squished into the little boxes and they don't necessarily explain what the program is about.

I have my Nova-T (909) working to a point (no Audio). I have XMLTV listings working and can select any of several channels via the TV guide and they function OK (although no audio). The problem is when I try and change channels I get a new window that appears with a title "ActiveMovie Window" which displays a background with a slight green tint. GBPVR also crashes.

Any ideas ?

Im running XP Pro SP2, cyberlink mpgmux.ax 5.0.0.1230. I have an X-card, but as of yet I haven't quite got girder to relay Xcard remote commands quite right to GBPVR so I'm using software decoder for playback and a keyboard.

I currently have the V-Stream XPert TV-PVR883 TV Tuner card installed in my computer.  It supports on-board (hardware) MPEG-2 encoding and I can get to it from various recording sources (i.e. NeoDVD, PowerProducer, etc.).  I believe the chipset is Conextant CX23883, which is 10-bit.

I would LOVE to have it integrate into your GB-PVR but for some reason I'm having problems getting it to match up with a valid Capture Source  

Any and all help/advice/direction would be greatly appreciated
