I love the program... But here are a few of my suggestions on how to make it an even more kick a$$ program.
1.) If you delete a net radio station, GB-PVR freaks out and asks for the original install file. It also does this if you delete any of the original channel icons that come with the program. I love to customize things... so this bugs me.
2.) On the recordings menu, if you delete a show when you get back to the main recordings screen there is no button focus so if you press enter GB-PVR crashes. And when GBPVR crashes... the wife acceptance factor goes down.
3.) Now I dunno if it's possible but I throw it out there anyway. You know how when you install a new skin but it might not have all the skin info for all your pluggins you have installed. Then you go to use a plugin without the skinfo and GBPVR crashes... Is there anyway that we could have GBPVR go to some screen that says skin info not available instead of crashing?
4.) I know this has been mentioned before and I"m sure someone will suggest CDK scheduler (but rumor has it that it's tough to setup and still quite buggy) but when I go to record "The Daily Show" and I come back the next day to find 3 recordings instead of one it's a bit annoying. Sub is there anyway that you can make GBPVR smarter to get around this? Perhaps taking more info from Zaptoit to better distinguish between repeat shows?
5.) Lastly... is it me or does anyone else think the font on the blue skin is tough to read. I'm more of a Arial man myself... but maybe that's just me.
Sub I really do love your program. I've donated cash and talked it up to all my buddies. So don't take my post as a diss... Just some constructive critism from one person, for what it's worth.
I had a bit of a disaster with GBPVR today when my gbpvr.mdb file became corrupted. I had been trying to add a custom task to the main menu at the time - I'm not sure whether this had anything to do with it...
Anyway I'd strongly recommend backing up your gbpvr.mdb file on a regular basis. The last backup I've got is from before I upgraded to version 0.9.10 about a week ago and restoring that has meant that all my recordings are out of sync so I've had to archive the lot of them.
I spent around 3 hours trying to recover the damaged .mdb file but to no avail. If anyone out there has experienced 'Error 3197' then I'm sure you'll know what I mean. It seems the only way to recover files corrupted in this manner is by buying this $400 piece of software:
v18 2005-2-27
fastfind
--scheduler now uses start and end time
--added methods for cdkscheduler
--Telephone style keys
--new basic CDK scheduler screen
--now can do advanced schedule or basic.
xrecord
--Back/Exit leaves the plugin.
--Configuration screen in config.exe
--Settings moved to config.xml from skin
--Updated zip with new cdk scheduler
--Updated post processing to do comskip, sorry
when I try to use direct access to the Hauppage Remote control, GBPVR does not start and gives the following message in the log-file:

With using the Hauppauge Ir.exe, it works fine.
Can anyone tell me what permissions are missing for GBPVR?
(I use GBPVR on W2K with normal user settings - everything else does work OK).
Nope, installing Flac codec from their webiste and also latest ffdshow will not get GBPVR to play flac files! It would be nice if GBPVR (like Nero) joined the list of software that can be configured for FLAC.
I get vertical lines when watching TV. If I turn off preview mode, the lines disappear, but the image stutters as it goes into timeshift mode. I am using release .9080 because .9010 stopped recording altogether. I have an AIW 9800 Pro with latest drivers in an XP Home machine. I had it working before.
When I play MP3 files with one of the players (Music Library or a plugin), the sound quality is clearly affected by screen redrawings. The sound "wows", i.e., it is as if an old tape recorder slows down a half-second or so, every time the screen redraws when another menu is shown, or if the My Music panel time counter changes every second.
Just got a WinTV-PVR USB2 installed and grabbed GB-PVR. Got a couple of problems tho and can't seem to find the answer in the archives.
Firstly, I can't get the live TV to work. Click on the button and nothing happens. The last few lines of gbpvr.exe-native.log show:

Any ideas?
Secondly, I managed to get it to record some programs by having the WinTV app open however I can't play these files back. Any ideas where I should look with that?
