  "Record All New Episodes" choice
Posted by: Monkey Boy - 2005-02-25, 09:47 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (16)

I would love to see a "Record All New Episodes" feature that would allow you to record all of the non-repeat episodes of a show for the season, similiar to that seen in other pvr apps like mce or Beyond TV. [Image: biggrin.gif]

  suggestions for next version
Posted by: ejr - 2005-02-25, 09:26 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

Here are some suggestsions for features for a future version.

1) If you in timeshift liveTV, ability to press a button on remote and go back to non timeshift liveTV
(yes I know you could quit and go back, but I'm lazy)

2) a warning if you are running out of memory on the hard disk to which recordings are being stored

3) wiping out recorded timeshift LiveTV shows if memory is running out so a scheduled recording could have memory

4) The ability to schedule "watch" but not store, or at least not long term store. The channel will automatically change to the indicated show, e.g., every week. It could be recorded and stored for a short period, e.g., a specified number of hours, after which it would be deleted, or not even stored at all.

5) Ability to have second class recordings - They are in a pool, and if an allocated amount of space is exceeded, the oldest, or lowest priority indicated, recording is erased. If you want to keep one of these, you can select it and so indicate.

6) Ability to delete recordings from the library using the remote, like for recordings.

7) Ability to watch a show that has comskip files so that commercials are automatically skipped. When the frame counter matches a commercial frame a jump is made as of 0-skip was pressed. If comskip got it wrong user could still go back.

8) Info button should bring up a show's description

  Remote IR Blaster question
Posted by: razormy - 2005-02-25, 07:38 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I just ordered a PVR-150 w/remote but when looking through the forum I see that I may need some sort of IR Blaster to control my Set-top-box so that I can get past the 125 channel mark.

My cable company is Adelphia in S. Florida and they use the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 box.

can someone shed some light on what I may need to get this to work?

Thank you.

  Plextor ConvertX PVR PX-TV402U
Posted by: agb1 - 2005-02-25, 07:30 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (11)

I almost gave up to make my Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe (PAL) USB device to work with GBPVR - but managed to get hold of new Plextor ConvertX PVR PX-TV402U device. It's as you know the next generation of Plextor ConvertX PX-M402U device as well with certified hardware DivX encoder and buit in TV tuner. So for I am very impressed with this device - but it would be great if it could as well be used with GBPVR [Image: smile.gif]

A little graphic to show if we've watched a program or not would be nice.

  Brand N00bie Help Request
Posted by: groebuck - 2005-02-25, 06:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi all - My first time setting up GBPVR was painless for the most part but I have a few issues. (yup I did a search first)

Here is the set up

Althon 64 3000+ Winchester
Gigabyte K8NS 939 mother board
two (2) ATI E-Home Wonder tuner cards
Volari XGi V3 video card - 128 MB AGP version
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Sound Card
Dlink DWL 510 - Wireless G - card
Wd Raptor 36GB Sata drive for OS/Apps
Hitachi 160 GB Sata drive for Storage

I did a baremetal clean install of windows XP - all the drivers for the above hardware then installed the intervideo mpeg2 decoder...

Next I did the GBPVR install - set up my e-home wonders as the capture devices etc..basically a step by step install doc install.

Here are my problems - I get that Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object when I try to start LIVE TV.

I can go to the guide as set it to record a show - I tested it with ER last night. It plays back fine but if I try to fast forward I lose audio completly upon coming out of FF into normal play back.

I'm coming off of running MCE2005 on this system and that all worked fine and dandy but I'm never satisfied and heard good things about GBPVR!

Final question - Is anyone or does anyone know of a plug in for the ATI Remote Wonder for GBPVR?

Thanks in advance to anyone for any help

(P.S. - I am dumping the Volari XGI - I got it becuase supposidly it has full hardware MPEG2 Decoding and HDTV support but this card blows imho - screen redraws are dog slow in 2D - there is no noticable Mpeg2 acelleration I can see and it does not seem to support VRML9 [Image: rock.gif]? )

  Sort options for available recordings
Posted by: mroy - 2005-02-25, 06:11 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

I'd really like to see a sort option for the recordings you already have. There are some shows that I like to keep every episode I record, which adds up to a lot of scrolling when I want to watch a newly recorded one. If the newer episodes were on top of the list that'd be great.

Another way to view the shows that I'd like to see is similar to how tivo does it, just lists the newly recorded stuff on the top of the available list instead of showing the show names as folders containing episodes.

  Video Library Icons
Posted by: landru22 - 2005-02-25, 06:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I was wondering if anyone knows if the icons (both folders and files) within the Video Library can be made smaller so that more can be seen at one time in the osd? Maybe they can be viewed as a list instead of icons?

Thanks
