  No file from recordingE
Posted by: freaky - 2005-02-24, 06:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hey there,

on my Hauppauge PVR-500 MCE I have LiveTV working, but recording doesn't seem possible. It says it's recording, which also repeats every 500s in the logs, but there's no file. Even though it claims to record to one. Not even an empty one...

Anyone got any ideas?

TIA

  Version Numbering Scheme Confusion
Posted by: 40days - 2005-02-24, 03:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I've been updating my version of GBPVR each time an updated version is release, but I'm kinda confused, and can't seem to find an answer in the forums anywhere. I see a new release of version 0.13 is out, as is version 0.90.10. I don't understand the version numbering scheme with GBPVR, and if I should just download and update the newest versions by date, or if 0.13 is some sort of test software, or what. Any help clearing this up would be most appreciated.

By the way, I enjoy the software very much, use it every day, and recommend it to other techies that I know. Thanks for a great solution to many problems.

  Rendering MenuMenuTask - every minute
Posted by: capone - 2005-02-24, 02:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Since going to the Nvidia DVD decoder (at least, that's when it seemed to start happening), I get this every minute now:

2/24/2005 9:45:00 AM.984 VERBOSE [2] Rendering MenuMenuTask
2/24/2005 9:46:00 AM.984 VERBOSE [2] Rendering MenuMenuTask
2/24/2005 9:47:00 AM.984 VERBOSE [2] Rendering MenuMenuTask
2/24/2005 9:48:00 AM.984 VERBOSE [2] Rendering MenuMenuTask

GBPVR is just on the menu screen, so I'm assuming this is the clock.

Why would it start logging, or having to render, where Invetervideo did not?

  DVD Playback Issues
Posted by: Daks - 2005-02-24, 02:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I finally got around to slapping a DVD into the HTPC and am having some majorly annoying issues playing them back.  The drive apparently came with Cyberlink's PowerDVD.  I say "apparently" because I just found the disk and have no other idea where else it would have come from.  So, I installed it, configured GBPVR, and set off.

Unfortunately, I'm getting some major stutter when I play a DVD in full screen mode.  And the dialog is a bit off from the video as it looks like a poorly dubbed Kung Fu flick.  In windowed mode (regardless of the window's size) it's fine.  Any other video file I play in fullscreen mode works fine.  It only appears to be when I play from the DVD drive (next idea is to rip it as an ISO and try it that way).

It happens in both GBPVR and PowerDVD, so I'm sure it's something funky on my end, but I don't know what.  My first thought was to look for a better DVD decoder, but I'm open to ideas if anyone has any.

Here are the system specs if it helps.  It's based on an old Dell Dimension 8100.  P3 1.0 GHz, stock mobo, 640MB RDRAM.  Lite-On 48/24/48/16 CDRW/DVDROM combo drive.  GeForce MX4000 video.  Hauppauge PVR250 capture/tuner.  TB Santa Cruz sound.  Some off-brand wireless NIC that really needs replacing.  20GB EIDE drive (OS and apps), 120GB SATA drive (media files).  Running Windows 2000.

Nvidia decoder settings / Codec priority
Posted by: capone - 2005-02-24, 02:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Trying to get to the bottom of a glitch where audio doesn't always kick in on tv viewing/recording. Seeing if it's just the codecs/decoders.

1) Does any know how to get to the Nvidia DVD decoder control panel? I foudn this once down in the tray, and it had settings for the overlay and other things...haven't seen it since.

2) What codecs are used to play live TV? I'm trying to figure out which ones they are in the codecs properties list so maybe I can set their priority higher and see if that helps.

Netradio won't play, Video Archives fault?
Posted by: Networker - 2005-02-24, 01:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I know that sounds strange, but the log seems to indicate that
Video Archive plugin is causing my problem I don't understand it, but perhaps someone can help. I try any of the PLS file I have put in or the 'stock' ones, they can play if I use Windows Media Player. However GBPVR says can't connect and here is what the long says:

2/24/2005 8:36:37 AM.536 VERBOSE [75] About to start playback of F:\GBPVR\gbnetradio-0.mp3
2/24/2005 8:36:37 AM.552 ERROR [75] Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Does GB-PVR Work With Digital Terrestrial
Posted by: inabsentia - 2005-02-24, 10:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Does the Hauppauge digital terrestrial series (Nova -T-) either PCI or USB work with GB -PVR, and if it does, does it record the digital stream in it's original form, or is there some kind of digital>analogue>digital conversion involved?

Do any other Digital Terrestrial cards/usb devices work with GB-PVR?

white dots at the top side of the video...
Posted by: popolopopo - 2005-02-24, 08:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi guys,

The video displayed with GBPVR is not using the full window or the full screen...

I have a black horizontal bar on the top, then a line of *moving/shaking* white dots, and then the video...

I don't get the problem with WinTV, the video is correctly resized to the window size, or to the full screen size... White dots are not showing up on top of the image...

Anybody else has this problem ?

P4 2.0 Ghz, 1 Go Ram
Win 2000 Server SP 4
Hauppauge 150
Geforce Ti 440 (display in clone mode TV + LCD)

  Find ready recorded TV shows
Posted by: dazz - 2005-02-24, 07:01 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I think it'd be great if the list of Ready recorded shows was dynamic. If I take a bunch of recorded shows and move them to a different directory, then start GB-PVR, naturally they won't be in the Ready list. But they should if the directory I moved them to is one of the Video Library directories! GB-PVR should make a note of every show it has recorded, and everytime it starts it should scan the Video Lib dirs, and if it recognizes a show there as one that it recorded, then it should show that in the Ready list (with meta data of course). It should be prepared to do that even if there were times where the file did not show up in any scanned dir. Dontcha think?!
