Does this work with mvp..I have no recording device, just tivo. but use gbpvr with mvp to play back stored videos on my pc.

OK I did it. I read all I could and followed the advice of Sub and others and took the plunge today. Snowed in Installed the removed the 350 did a hw clear removed gb-pvr deleted the install dir and installed the 150. Added the drivers etc. Installed the 350 installed drivers still OK. Installed gb-pvr and setup. All good. I can record a channel and watch another all good. Howver....... When the PC boots it complains about the IR saying it failed to initailize. If I disable the 150 restart the IR it works OK. I can then use gb-pvr and the remote and do all the other stuff. I have installed all the latest drivers including 2.024.23035 for the 150. The 350 drivers are 1.18.21.22266.

I realise this is not a gb-pvr problem but a hauppauge one. Has anybody fixed this problem? I read some time ago that somebody scripted a disable and re-enable to get round this problem but cannot find the thread. Please help. Wife factor is looming!!!!!

I have a multi tuner setup with a PVR350 and a 150. I also have an Xcard that I wanted to use. When I use the PVR350 as the output device the volume control (left and right arrow or + -) does not control the volume. When I enable the xcard it does work. Any ideas? This is driving me nuts. Save me!!!!

I'm sure I saw someone ask this before but can't find the post so...

Does anyone have two digital cards (DVB-T specifically) successfully working with GB-PVR? I have two Nova-t 90002 which the OS recognises and installs drivers for but whichever cap source is set to Board #1 can't fand any channels when scanning (Board #2 is fine). I can manually edit the MDB to put the channels in but then recordings on #1 produce 0KB files.

I suspect BDA support isn't quite ready for 2 boards (or two Nova-t boards at least) so it's no biggy as I don't record that many digital channels at the moment.

If anyone has had success, I'd be interested in what cards you're using and what drivers and if there were any tweaks you had to make.

I used WinTV 2000 to test my audio issue, and I saw one thing about it GBPVR could use.

I understand the shift from Live to Timeshift when you pause, etc. What I don't is that it stays in Timeshift when you change channels.

I think it should go back to Preview Mode when you change the channel. This would keep it from having to make a file unneccessarily as you flip. It would also speed up surfing.

GBPVR does not record--it creates phantom folders and places nothing in them. Does anyone know a solution? I am using the latest maintenance release as a fresh install and I have reinstalled and reloaded the EPG. I have had it running with 2 150's before with the same maintenance release.

in switzerland, a lot of movies are broadcasted in what is called 'zweikanalton'... (i do not know what the official english word is for this... the words translated to englisch mean 'dual channel audio'.

if a movie is broadcasted in 'zweikanalton', the left audio-channel contains the dubbed german soundtrack of the movie, while on the right channel you hear the original soundtrack (hmm... or is it vice versa? well... doesn't matter).

normal tvs are able to somehow detect if a transmission is in 'zweikanalton'-mode, and you hear only the left audio-signal (of course you hear sound on both speakers... but only the left (or right) audio-signal is used for both speakers).
with the remote you can switch between dubbed and original soundtrack.

i am using a hauppauge pvr-350 and before i switched to gb-pvr (which is great! i used the hauppauge wintv-application which came with the tuner card.
it did detect the 'zweikanalton' autommatically and let me choose the left or right audiochannel (well.. not with the remote... i had to set the option in the audio-config-dialog).

in gbpvr i hear allways both channels.... left german, right english (or whatever language the movie was shot in).

it's not that important that gb-pvr automatically would detect the 'zweikanalton' (well.. would be nice to have *g*). but it would be great if i would be able switch the audio-channels with the remote... kind of a cycle...

What video capture settings do I choose for my card. I'm using a Sony Vaio VGN-A190. The only info sony would tell me about my card is that they call is a gigapocket card version 4.4 I would really like to get this to work so I dont have to use their CRAPPY gigapocket software. thanks

Hi to all PVR experts out there!

I want to get rid of my old VCR and decided to build a PVR from scratch using gbPVR. I also decided to use one Hauppauge 150 (or several 150's in future) and the Xcard for hardware-supported output to my TV set (in order to keep my CPU cool ;-)

I want to install the PVR next to my TV set in the living room so I don't want to use an extra monitor - just the TV set.

Now my questions:

1. What happens if I want to view a format the Xcard has no hardware-support for (a JPG for example or an old, not supported DivX)? Do I need to use a extra graficcard connected to the xcard?

2. I read a lot about suspend and hibernate mode. I guess it *IS* possible that the machine sleeps in hibernate mode, wakes up for recording, and goes back to hibernate mode afterwards, right? But what kind of hardware (mainboard, power supply) is necessary for that?

3. I will use pre- and post-show padding in order not to miss any parts of the recorded show. Is it possible to cut the unnecessarily recorded parts off the show for archiving the file (out of gbPVR frontend or using any other program that can be seen on TV set)?

4. Is it possible to burn things onto DVD or CD (out of gbPVR frontend or using any other program that can be seen on TV set)? What about authoring?

I would really appreciate any answers to my questions in order to not spending money or time on not working items...
