Hi,

I now got a Nova-T now as well and try to set it up. I configured "All channels" and "Germany" in BDA device configuration. When I try to map the digital channels to EPG channels gbpvr scans 57 channels, there is no preview and I get an exception at the end of the scanning process.

This is what it says:

Needless to say that I checked the availability of the channels with the Hauppauge software.

I installed a version of mpgmux as suggested but i do not know the version number.

Any help appreciated.

I just got my MVP set up this week, and everything seems to work VERY smooth. Thank you everyone for the great software and add-ins. My measly setup is:

Dell 1.8GHZ p4 optiplex
256 MB RAM
PVR150MCE
MVP
250GB-SATA drive
Buffalo bridge/AP (near PC) combined with Airport Express (near TV/MVP)

Only issues I've had so far have been with My Pictures and the OSD guide. Occassionally it will lose connection with server. Live and recorded TV work great streaming to the MVP- flawless, even with the wireless setup. I had looked into getting a separate box previously with MCE, but no more! There is really very little noticable performance hit on my PC while all this is running.

Can anyone give me specific instructions as to how to get my card working with gb-pvr.
I have installed the BDA drivers, but when I try to map the channels to the epg I get an unhandled exception error as soon as it starts too scan.
In the card selection, I've chosen Nova-T 90002 even though mine is the different model - don't know if i should have or not.

Can anyone help?

I used MPV and GB-PVR for only one week. It is a great combination. Thanks for those who contributes to it.

I have a question about viewing live TV through MPV (with GB-PVR server). Everytime when the mini-guide shows at the bottom of the TV screen (e.g. when I press the remote or change the channel), my TV display dims for one or two seconds.

When I view the live TV on a PC, it doesn't have this problem. GB-PVR on PC switches the channel instantly and flawlessly.

Is this normal when using MVP/GB-PVR to watch live TV?

I set the preplay delay to 1000 ms to prevent the live TV from stopping every minutes. Does it have anything to do with the dimming display problem?

Any advice is appreciated.

Buffalo 54G Wireless bridge (WDS)between PC and MVP
GB-PVR 0.90.10

PostUpdateEPG.bat is running this:
cd c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr
PriorityRecording.exe > recording.log

And I wake up to this error in the morning:
PriorityRecording.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services : Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

I don't see anyone else w/ this problem. How do I fix this?

This has probably been beaten to death, but what's the current word on XVid playback. The latest MVP has support for DivX and XVid but when I tried it, the audio and video were significantly out of sync. Can GBPvr transcode these files? How are people dealing with XVid files?

Sorry if these answers are easily found elsewhere but so far I have not found them.

1. Last night I had CSI schedule to record from 8pm to 9pm. I went to set ER to tape from 9pm to 10pm. The EPG had ER from 8:59pm to 10pm and would not add the ER schedule because it was in conflict. Is there no way to specify that a recording should proceed even though it may be in conflict for a minute or two. i.e. Let the original program finish it's time slot and then start show 2 when done with 1.

2. Also last night we were watching ER but not scheduled. Just we had paused it for 5-10 minutes and was watching out of the buffer. Twice we would fast forward when the commercials came but when the commercial was over and I hit play, it jumped all the way to live TV. I had to rewind back to the propre spot to resume watching. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm very close to getting my setup work or pulling my hair out.

I think gbpvr is fantastic. It worked really well with my PVR250.

However, I decided to buy a nova-t (connexant version) to get Freeview.

(I can record manually with Hauppauge WinTV2k and the trial of myTheatre okay - but I like gbpvr ).

I've edited the settings get gbpvr to find my channels, and in the match epg to channel window I can see the preview with no problems.

LiveTV doesn't work... but I'm not bothered about that. It's recording.

It will record radio stations without a problem.

Trying to record from television seems to be an issue. The mpeg files it produces stutter at around 5 second intervals.

I've got the latest drivers and software from Hauppauge support site.

I've looked through the forums and people recommend a newer version of MpgMux.ax. The latest I've been able to find is 4.0.0.2122 from the cyberlink power cinema trial.

Is there anyone else who has managed to get it recording?
Can anyone give me some leads on where to go next ?

I recently acquired a WinTV PVR USB2 - and it seems to works surprisingly well.
GB-PVR offers one of the better interfaces to using it, but I have encountered some issues.

The most serious of these is that while timeshifting LiveTV seems to miss program boundaries - It simply continues to record for a few seconds and then stops, never transitioning to the next EPG entry - The only thing that continues to work is the audio - and even that doesn't always work... I am not even sure it ever worked (I have also experienced some audio/video mismatches.. But one problem at a time)

I find that quite strange. I would guess that the capture graph stays on the old file for some reason...

A secondary issue, which might be related, occurs with LiveTV in non-timeshifting mode. While it works in overlay mode, VMR7/VMR9 result in a high CPU usage that renders it pretty much unusable - It is almost as if the overlay portion fails to allocate... But it works fine in timeshift mode... Another issue with building a capture graph?

For reference:
PIV-1.8G/Radeon 9600/1024MB-RAM
Storage files are created on a secondary HD

Any ideas and suggestions would be welcome...

P.S: Any way to change brightness/contrast/etc from within GB-PVR? The only method I have found so far is tweaking the INI files...

Edit: Corrected the description of the problem - Audio doesn't seem to go beyond the program boundary either

I've search through the threads and it looks like I'm SOL but I thought I'd post and maybe someone has an idea.

I noticed some of my TV recordings were showing up on my C: drive so I went into config and realized after one of my many reinstalls I failed to modify my directories. I did that and closed config. Something odd must have happened and although the config app closed, I noticed high CPU utilization and saw GBPVR was consuming a bunch of it. I then went into the web TV guide and got multiple HTML errors. I decided to reboot

After the reboot I went back into the TV web and it was empty! I went into config and found that my capture source was gone. I readded it and since my EPG wasn't set right either modified it as well.

Well after reading the posts it came as no surprise that all my recordings were gone from the database and if I've read correctly, it's just too damn bad.

Like I said, I think I'm out of luck and I don't have any data to assist in trying to figure out what went wrong so unless someone has some magic spells I can weave, thanks for listening.
