  multiple mvp servers
Posted by: SteveTyrakowski - 2005-02-02, 05:36 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

I already have a GBPVR server set up with 2 PVR-150s and 2 MVPs. I am thinking of putting a PVR-150 in my son's computer so he does not interfere with my 2 channels of recording<g>.

If that PC also runs the GBPVR MVP server, am I going to have a problem?

If so, any thoughts on exporting recorded shows from that PC to the PC running the MVP servers?

In case you wonder why I don't just add the 150 to the existing server, it only has the 2 PCI slots.

audio a little off on .90

i love this version (love the quick channel change), though i've discovered (maybe it's my paranoia) that the audio and the video are a tiny, hair bit off-sync... anyone else notice it, or is it just me?

  Lag with remote control
Posted by: Jackdaw - 2005-02-02, 04:41 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

I've just installed GB-PVR and a variety of plug-ins.
When I control the media MVP with the Hauppauge remote control it works fine at first but then begins to lag. It seems to become unresponsive to the remote's signals but then after about 30 seconds it carries out all the remote commands I have pressed in frustration.
Sometimes the media MVP will reboot as a result of this.
The problem does not appear to be confined to any particular plug-in.
Has anyone got any ideas as to the cause and any suggested fixes.

The new one posted still does not work... anyone have luck with it? I suppose it will take a couple weeks for all the plugins to "catch-up" and work with the new version!

  MVP & GB-PVR
Posted by: pcostanza - 2005-02-02, 03:52 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (13)

OK. so I've been using GB-PVR for a few months and am sticking with it but decided to get a MediaMVP. Now, I'm almost lost as to what to do next. I have it hooked up to my network and it works out the box. However, what do I need to do to use it with GB-PVR?
I currently have the PVR350 but not set to tv out so I can occassionally watch tv on the pc. Is TV out needed to use the GB with the MVP? I know, I know duh but I can't find any documentation on setting it up on the forums.
Thanks for not laughing too loud. javascript:emoticon('[Image: laugh.gif]')

  NEW or REPEAT
Posted by: GET - 2005-02-02, 07:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I was wondering if and how to add the info NEW or REPEAT to the program description in the EPG. The ZAP2IT guide on the web shows this info. I emailed Zap2it labs and they said to set it up in the software. Any ideas?
I've been using GBPVR for about a month and I think it is great!! Also on the Recordings screen, It shows the show title and date it was recorded. I'd like it to show the name of the episode instead of the date, if this is possible. Thanks for any help!

  Xcard digital audio out
Posted by: TechVW - 2005-02-02, 04:26 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi, great software you got here, xcard support is much appreciated!

How about support for the xcard's s/pdif digital audio out?
I want this mainly when playing DVDs, so it should probably be an option for the DVD plugin.

And speaking of DVDs, I dont seem to be able to skip chapters... it resets the movie back to the beginning.

  No Conflict when there should.
Posted by: Pioneer4x4 - 2005-02-02, 03:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Sub, I upgraded to the .90 and it went well. I'm going to go up and test it on the MVP. I tried scheduling a show when another was already set, and got a conflict. Then I tried an upper channel and didn't.

I have 1-99 as capture through the 150's internal tuner.
I have 100+ as capture through the 150's AV Jacks and external girder tuner.

Both work fine, but will not conflict with each other, even though they are the same card.

Xmltv needs to be a bit more robust..
Posted by: sash - 2005-02-01, 11:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi Sub

I hoping possibly you could make your xmltv a bit more robust..
seems it works quite well with the tsreaders xmltv file ( for those not familar tsreader is dvb sat program found at coolstf.com - there is a free crippled version that will download the guide ). you can download a nine day guide for most sats in a couple minutes ( but I find the 4 day guide much more reliable) . normally it will only download the 2 hour guide but if you go transponder by transponder you will find the one that has the four or nine day guide. once you find it just remember that transponder and use it to download the guide quickly

BUT..... there is a bit of a problem since data streams from the sats can come down a bit gagbled at times you might have to receive the guide a couple time before getting a good one..
when checking the problem out in the epg.xml it seems most of the time is just because there might be an unreconizable character in the description of the program and your xml import program does not know how to deal with this character and fails to load the xml..

anyways just a suggestion.. it alot easier to download the guide this way then to do it over the net, especially so if you live in a country that does not have xmltv support or surfing by modem. and for some sats you could be talking a thousand channels to have to download via these routes..

  Manage Recordings
Posted by: aegisx - 2005-02-01, 11:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

On the Manage Recordings tab of the web interface, it looks like it lists all my 'batch records (season, all episodes etc)'. However, The air date tab and Show tab give little to no info about which show it is.... Could we have it actually say the name of the show instead of Manual Recording?

Thanks
