Cannot start service GB-PVR Recording Service
Posted by: stigma - 2005-02-03, 03:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hey,

I have re-installed everything several times, but always get this Error after changing config, or trying to view live TV "Cannot start service GB-PVR Recording Service on computer". I have a Hauppauge PVR-150. GB-PVR looks great, so hopefully, I am just being dumb, would like to get this working.

Thanks.

  ffmpeg help needed
Posted by: mikeg22 - 2005-02-03, 03:07 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

(I posted this in part of another thread, but realized it probably belongs in its own thread)

I am trying to convert DivX AVIs into MPEG so I can stream the video through my mediamvp without using up processor cycles on my computer used in the DivX decoding. I tried using ffmpeg to do this but I end up with a slightly stretched image that only occupies the top half of my TV screen when played through GBPVR or the normal mediamvp interface. The bottom half of the screen is completely black as well as the sides (this is a 16:9 TV). Can anyone make some suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? Here is the command I am using:

ffmpeg -i show.avi -b 2000 -vcodec mpeg2 show.mpg

I've tried using both 4:3 and 16:9 for the "aspect" setting, and this does not solve the problem. I would appreciate any help...

  Playing avi files
Posted by: pcostanza - 2005-02-03, 01:52 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Just curious as to what most of you do when you have an avi file to play. Is there a way to switch back and forth between the GB service and Hauppauge service since the MVP off the shelf plays divx and avi's?
Thanks

  My videos plugin
Posted by: zaker - 2005-02-03, 12:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Love the My Videos plugin, except for one thing, the IMDB lookups. If you search IMDB, either by Ctrl-O or red button on remote, it searches and grabs the IMDB info, whether it's correct or not. For example, searching for Lion King II, the IMDB info retrieved was for Lion King 1 1/2. There was no choice as to if it was correct to save this info or not.

Possibility this plugin can be enhanced that when there are multiple listings, it will present a choice as to which one you want associated with the video??

  web admin pre/post padding
Posted by: povarotti - 2005-02-03, 12:02 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

i was wondering if it'd be possible to edit the pre/post padding settings from the web admin.

for the most part, the thing works great, and most shows stay within their alotted time. on the other hand, sports events often have delayed starts (b/c of previous games) or they last longer (OT) than scheduled. for these types of shows, it'd be nice to have some way of changing the pre/post padding so you can add 30 mins to the end, for example.

as far as UI implementation, i wouldn't particularly care how it's done. it could be an option when choosing to record the program (having selected it from the tv guide), or it could be edited in the Manage Recordings tab -- maybe have an "Edit" or "Update" button in addition to "Cancel" for all pending recordings.

curious as to how difficult this would be to do...and if anybody else wants this feature.

  MCE 2005 IR Blater
Posted by: GOODBREW - 2005-02-02, 10:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Just install the updated version, and everything is working to my satisfaction, but still no support for the MCE 2005 remote ir blaster. [Image: sad.gif]

Can we expect for this to work in the near future.
It's really the only missing for me so that my scheduled tv programs can switch to the correct channel.

everything else is working like a charme
DVD, Movies, Music, Web Schedular, Guide etc...

cheers!

  v.0.9.0 - where's my filter?? !!
Posted by: tellyaddict - 2005-02-02, 09:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Your latest version 0.9.0 (DVB/BDA support) is just great, sub - a big hooray! I'm having a lot of success, but one or two head-scratching difficulties.

I've managed to get my (older version) Nova-t to work here in the UK, after a certain amount of tweaking of tuning frequencies in the appropriate dvb-t *.ini file (come on Hauppauge - sort yerselves out!Wink, but when I click on "Capture Sources(BDA Recording Plugin)/Edit/Map digital channels to EPG channels" I get a warning box which says: "You will not be able to record successfully until you install with a (Cyberlink) MPEG2 Multiplexer filter. (These) were not found on your machine."

Presumably because of this, my recordings are all of 0 bytes duration, and it is impossible to cancel them once they have started.

I'm puzzled - I've installed the latest version of Cyberlink Power DVD, and I've Selected Cyberlink Audio/Video decoder/renderer options in "MPEG-2 Playback" options.

What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help?

TIA.
