  Problems with GB-PVR
Posted by: dreamer81 - 2005-01-26, 05:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hey all, i just installed GB-PVR instead of sageTv, and i am really impressed. However i stumbled upon a few problems.
I have a Hauppage PVR-350 tv-tuner card

1. I have a HOME button on my remote, is it possible to remap it so it launches gb-pvr instead of wintv ?

2. Is it possible to play divX and Xvid files in the gb-pvr user interface?

3. Major problem, when i change channel in livetv mode, sometimes it freezes the whole computer! It totallt stalls. but it only happens sometimes, really weird?

4. And does anyone know how to enable auto-login in windows? so i dont have to type username and password when the computer starts?

  My Programs Plugins Released
Posted by: reven - 2005-01-26, 04:20 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (37)

download: version 1.1

My Programs Features
- Applications
- Utilities
- Games
- Emulators

apps, utils, games allow you to launch standard .lnk (windows shortcut files) from gbpvr.

emulators you need to specify a few things, like emulator exe, rom path, command line arguments. this allows you to have countless emulators and to launch any rom from inside gbpvr. only requirement is that the emulator must either be command line based, or allow command line switches. most emulators do allow this, so theres no real problem.

you must specify directories for your apps, utils, games and roms all of which allow sub directory so you dont have to browse through 10000 roms trying to find your favourite.

any questions, comments, let me know.

enjoy.

i wonder if this will make htpcnews.com [Image: rock.gif]

Posted by: GianfraH - 2005-01-26, 01:55 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Hi all!

I'm writing from Italy and I'm ready to buy a
tv card. In Italy we just started with DVB-T
and I'd like to have a device that supports both
analog and digital broadcasting.
What about this one?

Is it supported?

Any suggest?

Thanks in advice.

  More EventTypes wanted...
Posted by: shrimp - 2005-01-26, 09:40 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Hi!

I would like to sometimes control my HTPC without turning on any screens or TVs, i.e. for playing back MP3s/Oggs/Audio CDs. To have feedback about were I am currently in GBPVR's main menu I wanted to have the currently highlighted menu item displayed on a LCD (e.g. via LCDPlugIn). Is it possible to get information about the currently highlighted menu item? Maybe through some further EventTypes in the EventTypes Enum?

Thank you!

Best wishes!

shrimp..

Btw. Would it be possible to get my hands on the GBPVR source code somehow Wink

  Audio CD playback works!
Posted by: shrimp - 2005-01-26, 09:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi everybody!

Hope I have here again some new information to you: I got Audio CD playback working with the MyMusic plugin. All you have to do is to install CDDAReader (use 'regsvr32 cddareader.ax' to register the filter) and add .cda file extension to MyMusic plugin's configuration. Unfortunately order of the CD tracks seems to be a bit odd.
I'm sure MusicLibrary would also work that way, if .cda files weren't filtered.

Regards,

shrimp

Any plans to support digital cards ?
Posted by: firefox_i - 2005-01-26, 08:23 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Hi there,
I´m using GBPVR and it´s a great thing !!!
It has all the features I need and it works fine.

But my problem is that I will move in december in a small village (my first own house [Image: laugh.gif] ) but there´s no cable available [Image: sad.gif]

So I´m forced to use satellite........

Are there any plans to support digital cards (e.g. WINTV-NEXUS or WINTV-NOVA ) ?

Regards
Sven

  New Video Archive Plug-in Release
Posted by: Jeff - 2005-01-26, 06:19 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (25)

January 25, 2005 Video Archive Plug-in Release

Note that the skin files have changed and must be upgraded to use this new plug-in. Also, to use the graphical display option you will need to install the provided images into a new GenreIcons subdirectory under the GBPVR/media directory.

* Added an option to display files graphically; press the unnamed remote button (Control + O).

* Added support for Windows shortcuts. If you want a video to show up in multiple lists (particularly useful to categorize your converted DVD collection), you can create Windows shortcuts to the mpeg files and the plug-in will correctly resolve them to the source video file.

* Added an option to eject the DVD when conversion to MPEG is complete.

* Plug-in settings are now stored in the PluginSettings section of the config.xml file so that they will be retained over GBPVR releases. Your settings will automatically be migrated when you run the config.exe application and configure plug-in.

* Fixed a bug in the archive utility that caused it to crash if no program information was found for a recording in the GBPVR database.

* Fixed a bug in initialization code when adding directories.

* Updated the GetDVDInfo and DVD Info Editor utilities.

  Skinning bugs
Posted by: Heyt - 2005-01-26, 05:47 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (14)

Hi there!

i've just started this because it is always very complicated to find the right topic to post another skinning "bug" or skinning feature request. So i will post them here.

First a short list of things that i already posted and that are worked on.

fastfind (the other plugins of jorm) adding skinnability to the popups and some other small things
recordings some problems with the size of update and manual recording elements (i hope sub read it within my skin topic (Water/Leaf))

And then to new requests:
1. Weather plugin: Would it be possible to recalculate windspeed and pressure to kmh and bar (or MPa) like it's done with temperate?
2. Jukebox plugin: I'm searching for someone who will add skinnability to the jukebox plugin, because the developer won't work on it any more.

  "Error: Failure Playing back file"
Posted by: guynamed.. - 2005-01-26, 05:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I just installed GB-PVR and the Guide and DVD are working perfectly, but when I try to watch Live TV the screen goes black for a few seconds then a window pops up with the above error. I have tried all three rendering modes (VMR9, Overlay, and VMR7) and get the same result. (Actually it won't let me run VMR9 although I think I should be able to (GeForceFX 5200 w/DirectX 9c installed))

I have an AverMedia M150, which it seems to recognize in the setup. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
