I've just been initiated to gbpvr and a hauppauge 150 over the weekend.
And thanks to David A Carver for sharing the reoccur code and all the notes in how to develop apps in C#.

Essentially, I have added a check with the Title+subtitle of the program being recorded so that if you are looking to schedule episodes, then (hopefully) no two episodes will have the same subtitle. This means that you will create unique schedules only. Instead of what it does now, as in grabbing every episode blindly.

I also have added a command line argument to indicate the quality (low, medium, high, custom1, custom2 and livetv).

I am not sure if others will find this enhancement usefull or not, I sure had fun learning a bit of C# and coding. I'm including a small package with the code and an executable. Instructions are same as AddReOccurr.

I would like to see support for any card that your pc will recognize. PVR programs like Got All Media have this but setup for remotes, etc is a mess.

Media MVP Problems ?

Does version 0.23.13 work with the MVP ?

I did a fresh install Windows install on the machine I use as a media server and installed V0.23.13. When I power up the MVP it sits at the 2 blue/3 white stage for ever.

If I restore V0.22.7 from a backup (the whole DENZ directory) and it works fine.

Tried an upgrade to V0.23.13 and it stops at the same stage again.

Any ideas ?

This is all very new to me, but i want to know if this is possible: can i connect the TV-OUT from my vga-card(s-video) to the VIDEO-IN from a PVR-150 (which i dont have yet) and than watch it on my tv with a mediamvp?
If i can watch live-tv, than it has to be possible to watch the VIDEO-IN channel ?
The idea was to use the hardware mpeg-2 decoder instead of software decoding.
This way i could play all formats for which  my pc has a codec installed, even with subtitles (directvobsub)

etc.

anyway, i'm working on getting this all figured out, and i need a lot of help. i've been doing a lot of research, but i'm worried i'm not using my time wisely. here's what i want:

i'd like to use my computer as a pvr. i'd like to be able to record television shows, then author dvd's containing the shows. i would like (if possible) to fit at least 3-4 hours of television on one dvd (if the quality isn't complete crap in doing so).

i've read about a lot of things that i have no idea how to use. comskip seems like something i'd like to look into, but i don't know how it works. also, my ir remote that came with my hauppauge card... it works with wintv, but i don't know how to use it with gb-pvr. basically i don't know how to do any of the above.

can anyone help me, by either directly addressing my questions, or merely pointing me in the right direction? i really appreciate any help i can get.

I know you are working on it Sub, but can you give me an idea when you will release the new version with support for the PVR 150 IR blaster? I am itching to try it with my Sky NZ box.

well I was at my usaual forum, and someone built a DVB program that would display osd on HPlus type card.. well with little testing I see it worked with all sigma cards.. (congrates to emes30 for some original thinking)

but the interesting thing is with experimenting this approach, things could be applied universally.. to all dvd codec ( Emes30 is limited to one particular dshow filter that exposed the subpicture pin)

basically all you do is build pass through dvd navigator filter..

source- V->| passthrough | -> Video input codec pin
...........A-> | "DVD NAV' .| -> Audio indut codec pin
.................|_._._._._._._| -> subpicture pin

basicall all the pass through "dvd Nav " does if say that the out put is dvd compliant ( so the subpicture would be enabled on all codec) also if there is no souces pressent an backgroud image is displayed or if there is an actual dvd present. and if an source is pressent it will display switch to displaying the source..... but with investigating it seems that you should be able to build menus the same as any DVD menu found on any dvd.. and that it would display universaly..

I know SUB is unlikely to adopt this method . but I thought I mention it just In case it gave him some Ideas..

After several days, I received an email stating that I had registered with gb-pvr. In the email there are 2 links that can be used to activate my account. I have tried them both by clicking on them and typing them in manually and I always get this message:

"An error occured, not all of the required fields were sent from the validation link. Please ensure that they whole link was entered, it's possible that your email clients auto-wrapper cut the link in half. Please try again.

You are NOT logged in "

I thought the problem was because I was not logged in. If I log in and then type in the url, I get the same message and in the upper left corner of the screen it states that I am a guess. Obviously my member name and password work because I am able to write in the forum.

any suggestions?

I have a Hauppauge Nexus-S (DVB-S) and I will use with GB-PVR!

How can I do it? Is there any Driver?

How about a DVArchive plugin that would write the xml files so that DVArchive can serve the shows to ReplayTV units.
