  Black screen return to menu
Posted by: mobillars - 2005-01-27, 07:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

After a reboot of my server it refuses to play any tv in GB-PVR in wintv it works perfectly, same problem i had when i installed it the first time, that i fixed by installing 44.09 drivers for my nvidia mx440 card, but then after my reboot it told me that my system does not support vmr9, so i upgraded my drivers to ver 66.77 and then it went on into GB-PVR but now i can't get any tv from it, it just turn black and then returns to menu after about 2 sec. have also tried with the vmr7 but the same thing happends 2 sec of black screen and then back to menu. In overlay the screen just keeps on beeing black, but no sound. Then i thought it might work if i changed back to my 44.09 drivers but no luck there, same problem as with the other drivers.
I have it all running at windows 2003 and only a tv connected, no monitor, 2Ghz, 1Gb ram, lots of diskspace, pvr250 and my nvidia gfx 440mx. any ideas to how I can solve this? Couldn't find any log files in the C:\Program Files\devnz directory, it's just empty but in my C:\Program Files\gbpvr directory i have some log files, might they be usefull?

Thanks all.

nforce 2 out to 5.1 analog receiver
Posted by: capone - 2005-01-27, 07:14 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

I have a biostar board w/ nforce 2, and I'm trying to hook it up to a Sony home theater to use the 5.1 audio.

The problem is that to get the 6 channels, you need to use the three back ports (out, in, mic). I tried taking a 3-way Y adapter to hook into all three, and then use the regular Y adapter from the receiver to connect to that, but it can't find the individual speakers (or at least I could not get it to).

Has anyone had an luck doing this w/ a non-digtal setup? Or is there a MB w/ onboard audio that is built to?

TV listings - with home network?
Posted by: Atomike - 2005-01-27, 06:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

My HTPC is in the basement - connected to my other main gaming computer (non-HTPC) on a home LAN network. My non-HTPC gaming computer is connected to the internet - my HTPC is not. I know it's unusual to not have the HPTC connected to the net, but that will work best for me. Is there a nice way to get my gaming computer to download my tv listings, and then get them onto my HTPC through my network somehow? Perhaps in an automated way? I'm pretty stupid when it comes to networks, so any advice would be mucho appreciated.

  Hibernate->wakeup->record->hibernate
Posted by: dreamer81 - 2005-01-27, 04:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

When I put a show for recording and after that put the computer in hibernation. Then the computer wakes up and records the show, but after that it does NOT go back to hibernation.

Is that not possible?

  Watching a currently recording file
Posted by: Ericwiz - 2005-01-27, 04:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I've noticed a couple of things when I am watching a show that I am recording. (set up to record, start watching say 15 minutes later)

If you pause the screen, you get the show length, but that never updates, so if the length says 10 minutes and you are 20 minutes into the show it still says 10 minutes. Is there a way to repoll this info each time you pause?

Next, using skip ahead or back skips way ahead when the show is recording, and if you skip ahead past the end of the file you end up back at the menu. This happens in the case above too. Meaning, if you skip past the 10 minutes, even though the length is actually 20 minutes it still backs you out to the menu. This also doesn't set a resume point so you may have to skip ahead several times to catch up.

  record while in livetv mode
Posted by: dreamer81 - 2005-01-27, 03:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hey, When i watch a show in livetv mode, and press the record button. It starts recording the show, which is good. But when i hit stop it saves the recorded file in the livetv buffer folder.

How do i make it save it in my recordings or somewhere like that?

  GB PVR
Posted by: Mamas Media PC - 2005-01-27, 02:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

simple questions

untill now I'm using XP MCE 2005 with a 150MCE. Since this is not supporting analog and digital cable in the same configuration I'm looking for alternatives.

1. Does GBPVR do that?

2. could I install and run it on a xpmce OS to test it?

3. If I would use GBPVR as second programm only for using it with digital cable (sure not both programms at the same time) - could it work?

Thanks in advace! MMP

My System AMD64/3000, 512MB, Aopen Aoleus 5200, PVR 150 MCE, xpMCE
