  MVP- Adjusting the picture
Posted by: raptoger - 2005-01-27, 07:29 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

What is the best way to adjust the picture produced by the MVP? I can adjust the TV but is there a way to adjust the software of the MVP, because some images look too saturated.

Thanks

  Folding@home plugin
Posted by: mobillars - 2005-01-27, 06:51 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hey

I've just started using this wonderfull program, and I just love it, very nice work all.
Since i have GB-PVR running on my server standing i my living room, i thought well lets see if it's stable, for that i fired up prime95 for about 4 hours, and well the temp got to 56C but not any higher so thought hmm lets try with folding, and as before i didn't get any higher, so thought, why not keep i running all the time, but then i can't see how folding is going inside GB-PVR so every once in a while i have to close GB-PVR and check if folding is still running and if that's the case how far it has gone.
Then got the idea to write a plugin which allows you to se the status of folding inside GB-PVR but then again i'm not much of a coder or anything the like, so can just hope someone would pick up on this idea. I think it would be cool.
Thanks for a wonderfull program and forum.

/Lars

  PVR-150MCE
Posted by: raptoger - 2005-01-27, 06:24 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Hello,
I have installed a new pvr-150mce and also installed the beta software for my MediaMVP. I wanted to use the scheduler that comes with the beta but when installing, it does not seem to detect the card; therefore, the scheduler does not appear.
Does anybody knows what could be wrong or if this is normal.

Thanks

Having trouble with Adaptec VideOh PCI
Posted by: mryarbles - 2005-01-27, 02:45 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I'm having problems getting any output. Everytime i click on the "live tv" button i get a crash in the "debug assertion failed"
..dbgdel.cpp
"_BLOCK_TYPE_IS_VALID(phead -> nBlockUse)"

I'm trying to use an Adaptec VideOh pci card.

When i running the tuning assistant the card is in the list...but it tells me "failed to find crossbar filter. Wrong device type?"

Anyone know if I can use this card, or what the problem might be?

Thanks

  SVCD Playback
Posted by: hasso - 2005-01-27, 02:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have got some SVCDs which I am trying to playback through the PVR350 using GBPVR (hardware decompression). The way I play them at present is I point the Video Library to the location of the main MPEG file on the CD. It plays through the PVR350 TV Out, but the motion and sound is quite jerky. Copying the main MPEG file to the harddrive does not work any better. However, playing the file through PowerDVD or WinDVD using software decoding is very smooth... no problem.

Any ideas? Do I need to convert the SVCD to a some sort of other "MPEG-compliant format" that the PVR350 understands correctly? or...?

What bit rates do you all use?
Posted by: Ericwiz - 2005-01-26, 09:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am using variable 4400 to 8000. I changed medium quality to this so that it's what I record at and I changed live tv as well.

Noob having some problems. Please help!
Posted by: Clobbersaurus - 2005-01-26, 08:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi all. I just installed a brand new PVR-150. I installed all of the software that wa son the Hauppauge disk. I then installed GB-PRV. I was configuring it, but I am having a problem. Under the Capture Sources tab, I cannot get an EPG configured. I don't know what is wrong. I followed the Setup in the Quick Start sec. on the GB-GVR page, but it is not working for me? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

  WiFi remote control of MVP
Posted by: mwltuk - 2005-01-26, 07:53 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Any plans to hook up with TelCanto.  Slimserver can be controlled via a WiFi enabled PDA.  I have two MVP's and would welcome this way of controlling GB-PVR. I understand that TelCanto will be implementing support for UPnP.  I'm not very techie so could this be made to work?

  Recodring to Network shares
Posted by: navitas - 2005-01-26, 07:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi,

I running the 2313 build of gbpvr and I am curious if anyone has any luck with writing to network shares? Specificaly SAMBA share on a Linux box.

gbpvr is run on:

Athlon 64 3000+
2GB RAM
Windows XP SP1
120GB Boot disk
80GB Extra disk
Hauppauge PVR-150

The linux system is:
SuSE 9.2
Athlon 64 1Ghz
1 GB Ram
160GB Disk

I have no problems recording to locally attached storage.

Both systems are at 100MB Full Duplex so I don't think it's a question of bandwidth. Looking through the log files in the gbpvr section I noticed that it did complain about writing to the network dir and then spit out a few reasons. I didn't save the reasons at the time as it was late and I figured I would just paste them in here in the AM. It seems though that gbpvr overwrites the log files? Which brings up another question: What is with the word -native- in some log files?

Lastly, I tried to use the Zap2IT since I am in US but it never works. There is a lot of network activity for a min or so and then nothing. I have to manually cancel the EPG update. I did go through a couple of threads with EPG problems and I can manually use the perl xmltv tools on the linux box with no problem to get a channel listing. Looking through the log files I did see:

I have an account at both the labs.zap2it a the normal one and they both work. I am happy to use xmltv right now. Just wanted to report this as it might be useful.

Everything else is great! Thanks so much for this really cool application!

It looks like the MediaHelper flakes when trying to deal with M:\ which is the shared drive.

Thanks!
