I've just installed the COMICS plugin and I am getting a message stating "Error: The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server.". Â I have searched the forum for similar problems and these seem to have been resolved with firewall adjustments. Â I have given the GB-PVR executable and the Comics plugin dll permission access to the internet through the firewall but when I try to load a cartoon the above error occurs. Â I have checked the traffic logs of the firewall and no attempt was made to connect to the server. Â The following error appeared in the GBPVR.exe.log file:-
19/01/2005 23:57:38.672 ERROR [2] Error: msg=0x202 (WM_LBUTTONUP) hwnd=0x2a008c wparam=0x0 lparam=0x640056 result=0x0 Â : Â The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server. Â : Â Â at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.CheckFinalStatus()

I've been using GBPVR for only a couple of days now, but I'm really happy with how everything's been working. I'm using a MediaMVP served by my PIV 3.4 computer. I do have one small problem though: when I try to start netradio, I get an error message that says something about a key that can't be null. I'm assuming that it's not really netradio that's messed up, but some part of the configuration of the on-screen buttons (i.e. the netradio button is not pointing to the right place). Here is what gbpvr.exe says as a log at the time I press the button:

If anyone has any ideas about how I can fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.
BTW, one more thing to ask. I've been converting my DVDs to MPEG2 files by ripping them into their video and audio files, converting the audio file to mp2 audio with HeadAC3he (since the MPV will not do AC3), and remuxing them with Xmuxer. I'm doing this so I can play them on my MVP. This seems to work very well (after I figured out the audio offset), but I have one problem. Because most DVDs are anamorphic 16:9, when I play the original mpeg video on my tv it is stretched. I can set my tv to fix this stretching, but that throws everything else off. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a relatively simple program that I can use to change the aspect ratio of my mpegs from anamorphic 16:9 to letterbox 16:9. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Anyone know of a 802.11a wireless ethernet adapter I could use with the mediaMVP to make it wireless? I see people are using 802.11b or g, but I already have an "a" network.
I already have my regular machine working successfully as a test HTPC.
Now I am ready to build my real HTPC that will/must connect to and HDTV. However there are a few questions I am puzzled about.
Is the Pundit R a good candidate to fulfill the above request? If so how do you go about it?
- Is the Pundit -R integrated Video card sufficient to connect to an HDTV using Powerstrip?
- If not, should a new card be purchased? Any recommendations? (Something as easy as plug and watch)
- DVI or component?
Should I wait until the Shuttle XPC Pentium M Video Player?
Newbie and having trouble getting findfast to work. I have put the dll in the gbpvr root and skins in the skin directory but cannot get it to work. Do I need to make manual changes to a config or skin?
I have a PVR USB 2 set up and I tried adding a PVR 150 pci card. I finally got them to work together, except can't get the remote to work. The IR.exe (that is in start-up) keeps returning the message: "failed to initialize infrared remote hardware". When I disable PVR 150, it's back to working again. When I disabled PVR USB 2, (i was trying to isolate the problem), the problem came up, so i'm realizing it's something to do with the PVR 150.
I'd love to have two tuners, but if i can't get the remote to work, it's not really worth it.
Since I couldn't find the original maker of the translation, I decided to pick up the existing Dutch language plugin from the site and do some adjusting and adding. I'm not sure if I have seen all possible English text from the application.
Can anybody provide me with a list of all english statements to translate in the GB-PVR???
I can't find a place where to send the plugin after finishing. Can anybody help?
I have looked into several pvr solutions, and have decided to go ahead with gbpvr. Before I buy a new computer for this, I want to do some experimenting with my current pc. When I am happy with everything, I will buy a new computer and install everything in this new computer. What is gbpvr? Is a program that is launched from the start menu or automatically at boot? I looked into talisman desktop and this is a shell replacement. When talisman comes up, your windows is that and only that. I do not want that. I still want to be able to use my computer as a computer and launch windows programs with the start menu. Can someone explain what happens or what you see when windows comes up after gbpvr is installed? How do you start gbpvr?
