  Text clarity
Posted by: BoomerTC - 2005-01-20, 06:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I'm having a problem where any text being displayed on my TV is very hard to reaad, it seems like it is out of focus, or pixalated or something. Does anyone have this problem, or know of a solution?

I read the thread on changing the size and alignment of the display, but my video quality is good and I didn't want to mess with that.

Thanks

  Contrast and brightness
Posted by: eurojojo - 2005-01-20, 04:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hai,

My PVR-350 displays its output just a tad too dark. So, I changed the contents of direct.ini to:

[SETUP-VideoProcAmp]
; valid values are 0 - 100 or AUTO
; AUTO tells GB-PVR to not set the property, but instead rely on driver defaults (AUTO is in upper case).
Brightness=65
Contrast=67
Hue=AUTO
Saturation=AUTO
Sharpness=AUTO
Gamma=AUTO
WhiteBalance=AUTO
Gain=AUTO

But, although the playback is now equal in picture quality to "real-time TV", I believe the recordings are also affected, and are just a bit brighter. That is not what I wanted. Recordings should not be affected, only playback.

What am I doing wrong? Or am I imagining things?

  Not maintaining aspect ratio
Posted by: gaiatek - 2005-01-20, 01:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

My GB-PVR is not maintaining the correct aspect ratio...

If I have a video recorded in HDTV, it stretches the video to fill the screen, and everybody looks 7ft tall...

Is there a simple setting that I'm missing??

Thanks

  Extended functionality in Shutdown plugin?
Posted by: agerdin - 2005-01-20, 11:38 AM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Hi,

I am looking for functionality to shutdown when all recordings are done for the day (or at a specified time). It could be that after klicking shutdown it asks you for when the shutdown should take be done. I have not yet tried the shutdown plugin but I can not see that this feature is included. Maybe I am asking for much but it would be very useful.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

\\Anders

  WinTV-PVR-350
Posted by: raptoger - 2005-01-20, 03:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello, guys. A few days ago I Purchased a WinTV-pvr-350 and installed gbpvr and everything worked well except that the image I was getting from my satellite box was not that good. However, when I used the only composite video in jack the card has, the image was perfect. Sadly, this card does not have the sound composite jacks. Because of this, I returned the card and purchased the 150MCE which contains all the composite jacks plus the S-video jack I was looking for. I'm still waiting for the card but my question is: can I still use gbpvr with this card to record from the composite or will gpvr try to get the signal from the TV connector?
Thanks

  MediaMVP screen alignment problem
Posted by: jringenb - 2005-01-20, 02:37 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

Hello,

I am having an issue with the screen alignment of the output to my TV from my MediaMVP.  Everything is shifted to the right and down so I can't see some of the output on the TV and I now have a black 2-inch band on the left and top sides of the TV screen.

Is there some way I can change settings or modify the setup files on the MediaMVP so that I am able to move the screen output back to the left and up?  Or is this an issue with the hardware and will the warranty cover it?

I have had the MediaMVP a little over a week.  My system is a:

AMD Athlon 1.33GHz
512MB
60 GB 7200RPM HD
WinXP Pro
Hauppauge 150MCE
MediaMVP Rev. D3A

  USB-UIRT 1
Posted by: anxietyclown - 2005-01-20, 01:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I got my USB-UIRT today. Trying to teach it the codes for my DirectTv box .

When I hit NEW it starts that 'press 1 on your remote control' thing...but it screams through it without me hitting anything. As soon as I hit NEW I am looking at the 'Release the button' prompt. The the 'Hit #2' flashes very briefly and I get 'Release the button' for another 5 seconds...and so on....
