The MVP like the Hauppauge has an adjustment for the picture (contrast, Brightness, and color) when using the Hauppauge MediaMVP server software. My reds are bleeding. How would we adjust the picture using GBPVR MVP server?
If I click on any window accept the active GB-PVR window my hauppuage remote stops working. If I click back on the GB-PVR window then all is well again. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
My setup:
I have GB-PVR running on a P3 750, with 512MB of Ram, on Windows XP Pro SP1, with a 120GB hard drive, and a PVR350. I connect to this machine through a wireless network card through Remote Desktop.
all of a sudden, I'm recording TV at 25 frames per second, instead of the standard 29.97. I've burned DVD's before, but now DVD Author is giving me an error saying it cannot convert the video because it it only 25 frames per second. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? It is only in the last 2 weeks. I haven't changed anything on my computer. When I am not connected to the internet, Windows Media Player says it cannot find the codec to play the file.
I am using the INtervideo codec, as I always have. I've tried converting the file to 29.97 fps, but the audio ends up off, and I don't want to go through a whole ordeal trying to burn a TV show to DVD. I can watch it fine in GB-PVR, and it works on media players, but I can't try to burn it to a DVD.
I'm a little new to GBPVR. I recently purchased the new Hauppauge remote for the PVR-250 and I am having tons of trouble with it. With the win-tv irremote.ini file in place it does control the WinTV app. When I put the gbpvr irremote.ini file in place, nothing happens at all.
I only want the remote to work with gbpvr. I am unsure of the following:
1-Does the ir.exe need to be running? (I've tried it running and not)
2-If I want to use the remote strictly with gbpvr do I need to select "Use Direct Access to Hauppauge Remote" in gbpvr config ?(I've tried it with and without)
I have tried everything I can think of to get this to work without success. Right now I am remotely controlling gbpvr with a usb game controller sending keystrokes. It works ok but it's not wireless and it just doesn't seem right to control this great program with a game controller.
BTW, my system is headless (except for the keyboard), and is old but it runs this app very well (except for the remote!. PII 350 mhz, 384 mb ram. PVR-250 for capture and Xcard for playback.
While I'm at it, I have a few other questions:
3-Does the wintv2000 app have to be installed to run gbpvr?
4-How about the xcard app (xmedia player?)?
Okay, I feel guilty making a wish list post since this is FREE software and it kicks ass...but, since the forum is here
1. The ability to do everything with the mouse ONLY leaving no need for a KB.
2. An episode aware scheduler. I keep getting repeat episodes when I get a 'season pass'. Also, when I cancel one of the repeat episodes on Monday, the GB software relists them the next day (presumably since it reloads the tv guide and then updates the record to do list).
3. Some 'right click' options. Right click a recording and get a pop-up menu with a few options. Right click a pending record and get a different pop up list of common options.
Anyway, like I said, the software is great and I am MOST appreciative of all the hard work. I have only the vaguest idea of programming and can only imagine what went into getting this thing working.
For some reason after I install GBPVR, when I try to insert an MPG file into a powerpoint presentation, powerpoint freezes up. I can insert other movie file types with no problem but not .mpg's.
I know it is GBPVR because I went through a long elimination process and as soon as I install GBPVR powerpoint starts acting up.
Does anyone know why GBPVR would cause this?
Thanks
Is there any to get a Dxr3 CT7240 decoder board to work with GB-PVR? I'm thinking not but I'd like to make sure. I know you can use a MediaMVP hardware decoder. I wouldn't think this would be TOO dissimilar as far as the signal being fed to it. Thanks!
I am utilizing a PVR350. I realized that when I playback a film (through the videolibrary) while I am still recording an episode, I run into the problem that skipping forward or fast forwarding, the film restarts from the beginning. However, I am pretty sure that I was not forwarding beyond the actual recorded position. Is there anything I can do about that?
